Ganesha's Evolution

I’m always behind the curve with people like Azi about - likely a scare unless you res is getting above say 32c regularly.

But yeah - H2O2 flush does about three good things in this situation.

Plus - give yourself a nice surfer dude type hair colouring treatment with it with the left overs!

Nick
I need to get the H2O2 tomorrow.. I'll leave her like this for the night.. then a small flush again with peroxide tomorrow, and then put her on refeed.. and the big one I can do a Peroxide flush instantly.

Hello Fenderbender!

I'm doing my due diligence to become an informed voter for the JOTM contest. I was glad to see that yours was just 8 pages in, so it was the one I chose to read first.

BTW, my favorite line out of the entire journal:

That's deep...I think?

Looking forward to seeing the finish!
Hiya!

Lol yeah I'm just thinking what else could it be... a bias because the music plants received more attention and care.. or something mechanical.. they are not digging the tunes... or are they? Maybe the flora on this planet is actually cultivating the fauna as fertiliser, ever thought about that?? 😆

And if it's mechanical a synthesizer is the key not music.. so you can experiment with dialling in the frequencies, and waveform shape, maybe modulate a pulse so you give the plant a synthetic heartbeat🤔

Yeah I'm looking forward to the finish too, as if the nugs get big and fat this is gonna be a pretty nice haul for my half sized tentje.

Yeah its just a healthy fix. Sure its a chem and not organic but you’ll get more than just Root health, there’s irrigation wins, there plus Oxygen - a bunch of stuff.

Plus - I like the hair look!
I can go to the pharmacy, she'll mix up me up a litre, I can go a bit stronger as well otherwise you're just pissing it away.

you're just pissing it away.
Our swimming pool is an “Ozone Pool”

No salt/chlorine or anything added. Just 5 gallon jerry cans of 35 or 50% Hydrogen Peroxide delivered twice a month and cleaned and tested twice a week. (The doser thing figures out what the inout value is) You can drink it - tastes like hospital tap water.

Its awesome good for popping seeds and a refresh in a push for the plants.

But as @InTheShed has frequently reminded me - its H2O2 with added pee!

Actually - a little extra ammonia probably helps the medicine go down - but ai’m a Pee Half full kinda guy 😆

Oh the pool company people on Tuesday and Fridays? Their Ph tester is like paper style chart. Because ai’m awful human being I spun my BlueLab round my finger and tested perfect once. 😆

Why do you say that? H2O2 is literally water with extra oxygen. That's about as organic as there is, no?

High there @Fenderbender, congratulations on the nomination. I am also doing "due diligence" and I have enjoyed skimming through your journal. I love the layout. I'm also interested that you are growing in SIPs as I have tried swicks, and that you are growing autos too!
There’s some chat in Carmen’s thread about top watering SIPs as a more general thoughts on sub irrigation (she’s tried SWICKs) might be of interest to you!
Carmen's Winter Autos With ViparSpectra XS1500 Pro!

To top water or not is an issue me, Carmen, Shed amongst others is all recent grow history.
High Nick :) Apologies, I didn't know my journal was tagged otherwise I'd have commented sooner. The issue that both Gee and I experienced with sub-irrigation to LOS, was that the plants remained hungry. They were not getting the calcium they needed to process nutrients, and they were drinking from the res, rather than eating from the soil. My experiments with swick are inconclusive, but the suggested remedy is to top water teas and dressings, and water in the calmag. @StoneOtter has good experience on SIP and I think he administers the calmag direct into the res, but I'm not 100 % sure.
And they inched up some more.
Left one needs res filled, I'm gonna dunk in bloom dose as the pistils have arrived

Just went on a nice bike ride and got some more of the outdoor white widow, filled my two drying nets, still need a clean and then in jars.. my friend does have a problem getting his weed dry and cured as his place is out in the fields and a lot more humid. Like these have been cut weeks ago but still aren't really snappy yet. When he burps his jars in Spring and Summer then things start to improve.
I'm in the opposite area.. if I leave a branch out for a couple of days it's dry before the week is over, but that's too fast.

The white widow looks yummy!

I'm glad I finally looked into your grow. I've been attracted by your Ganesha lol, and just hadn't gotten around to it yet.

Happy growing!

Hi Carmen!

Ah see that's interesting, I did start to top feed too as the largest one kept looking hungry but it was also growing way bigger than the others.
This is the 4th time trying SIP.. first run indoor was great without a hitch... second grow plant was struggling and got all yellow I kinda attributed that to the heatwaves as the tent was running way too warm for a couple of weeks and after the first one she went downhill without stopping, still some small buds, then SIP outside during the Summer worked perfectly, big nice White Widow auto.
And now I'm actually running into trouble again... As I just had a smell of the tent, lights are out, but I'm smelling chlorophyl on the turn. 🙁
Now weather is on the turn as well.. tent is running 5°c colder than a while ago it's at 23-24°.

And yes what I've also noticed is cannabis roots are some of the most hungry hunters I've seen, and if there is a reservoir they will try to get in there and once they are in there the soil roots are indeed neglected and they'll munch straight from the reservoir... kinda what I got going on now. With the larger version of this pot I thought that was going to be the case but it was not.. but these are a bit smaller and they managed to skip the gaps and grow into the res.

The SIP outside I tried different nute method, bionova pellets in soil and then they had three small bottles to feed extra, root stimulant etc.. those were in the res, but the main nutes were in the soil and I kinda know and agree the goal of SIP is not to go hydro you just want a well fed soil with a gradient that the plants will use completely.. that's still a bit of a challenge but having the nutes in the soil or by topdressing I'm thinking they would prioritise the region where the actual nutrients are.

I'm gonna go get the H2O2 for the flush.

Quote dump - cool read - still have some catch up. But these before I taste test 9 strains I harvested 😂

They're smarter than you think. ;)
The most Azi thing ever buddy! People can be smart too 😂
I've ordered one more of them sips as they were still on sale.
Hehe - that’s between you, your partner and your bank, no need justify to us. My wife just realised the $60 was only the import duty and therefore what was in the box cost a function of that value 😆
Friend of mine does that he keeps a seedling around for 20 days before he gets it to take off.
Why so? Deliberately or likes a certain dunno?

You and I know this and I’m not totally sure why feet made from organic salts isn’t organic tbh. Its the same process just forced.

Jeez - Carmen with her serious hat on! Watch out 😆

From me - all goods good and steady, nice greens, love the veg, so easy! The music - well the plants hear it like we do with waves of air. Perhaps they feel a little tickle from it. Like stroking a cat makes it purr or ours loves massaging my wife’s belly with his front two paws, especially when she is menstruating. (My wife that is rather than the boy cat we cut!) Its uncanny. Cats/Dogs/Plants live in the same world but such different sensors!

I'm not certain what you mean by the smell of chlorophyl on the turn and I am not even sure what you can do to intervene. Last grow I took the two plants off the swicks and finished them by top watering only. It was a challenge and they didn't really recover terribly well but I got them to finish. Perhaps you could try watering in some calmag and food for them from the top and moderate their SIP intake.
They develop different root systems for the res and for sucking up sub-irrigated water. The fine feeder roots that usually fill the soil could possibly be lacking if the plant does not get top fed.

Is the flush to take care of the chlorophyl on the turn smell? Good luck I hope you get to the nub of the problem. How will you conduct the flush as a matter of interest?
I think the plants will take water from wherever they can get it, whether it be via root or foliar, and if the roots grow into the res the plant will go hungry, or it will become a hybrid hydro grow and get nutes directly from the res.

Yes everything is chemical, water is a chemical substance, this whole thing we're living through is one big chemical reaction slowed down and delayed by semipermeability :)

Chlorophyl on the turn smells like plant and leaves going bad, the sugar and compounds in the plant breaking down, bit like fall.. but some people actually don't perceive it much as they can drink chlorophyl in water and be like this is mild, and for others it's like this is pungent plant taste & smell.
Don't know what I'm going to see when the lights come on.

The peroxide flush is to try to do something about any off processes going on and freshen up the roots and flush away possible buildups. the schedule of the nutes do say to flush at transitions but I kinda powered through with the SIP.
I made a cutout so I can hold back the soil and tip the can.. the water can run out the res at the sides it's two pieces connecting not all moulded in one piece.

Hmm I might also go back in with distilled water (as I always suspect my tap as part of the problem) and then add calmag and half dose nutes or maybe as you say skip the res and continue top feed.. the roots in the res will prune off.
hmmmm which road to take
Yeah I'd really like an okay finish as there's lots of bud in there.

Thought so. It's the smell I get at the end of flower, when the plant is ready for harvest.
Don't know what I'm going to see when the lights come on.
🤞

You've got this!

These two have had the Peroxide flush.. the left one started showing symptoms as well.
I'm still getting major mushroom smell when flushing.
And still wondering what I got going on, buildup, lockout or rotty roots eeeeeh..
I'm gonna opt for top feed, part of that will run in the reservoir anyway, but I'm gonna keep it airy down there.

Had to disturb someone's web making, little spider was going from the light to the main bud.
IMG_1697462472244.JPEG

I still have these... 40 watt of Philips Greensation 660nm gonna mount them on a board for red light therapy.. not for the plants 😆
IMG_1697399005808.JPEG

I gave them topfeed before I went to sleep, I went for distilled water, calmag and half strength nutes.
It doesn't look like it got worse... smell is still a bit funky, maybe I should pick the bad leaves but I'm kinda watching them for any activity.
And I am worried about these blotches appearing higher on the plant.. slight but there.

Very strange looking 👀 affliction FB. I don’t recall seeing anything quite like that. Are you growing in soil or coco? Prolly doesn’t make any difference but I’m just curious 🧐. CL🍀.

Soil..
I'm mostly worried if it's that leaf fungus, I did take the plants outside when it was good.. so all kinds of bugs had a visit.

I think the flush was good as I'm thinking there would have definitely been some buildup as what was all that muck coming out.
