Outdoor Growing With BeezLuiz

Beautiful Beez! Love Obama Runtz!
Thanks Stone! I grew a small indoor Obama a while ago and really loved it. I think I might get enough from this one to last me a while.
Looks like an early K ask to me.
And if the yellow tips start to rust I'm with Azi on the K def.
Thanks guys. I flushed it pretty well and followed up with some high K bloom nutrients. I'll be watching it closely. So far, it hasn't gotten any worse, so that's a good sign.
#2 is looking like all the ones I've seen grown and #1 looks like it might be the rare sativa sativa pheno! MMG said that was higher in CBD but lower in harvest weight.
Very interesting. I remember reading about that some time ago. #1 definitely is less dense than #2, but I was thinking it was because of the difference in training methods that I used.

Yesterday (and more today) was harvest day for Obama Runtz! Here it is at 191 days from sprout. It's been flowering for about 87 days.

Here it is after having all the bamboo stakes removed. I was actually expecting more floppiness, but it still looks pretty good.

The trichomes showed quite a bit of amber, but that's not what I really use to gauge ripeness on my outdoor plants. I saw enough cloudy to call it "done". With the weather (finally) starting to cool down, I don't think another week would make a whole lot of difference.

I trimmed most of it yesterday (about 6 hrs) and will plan to finish it today. Here's one of the pans of buds. Two full pans so far, plus 1/2 a pan of popcorn buds that will eventually be converted into dry ice kief.

Congrats, Beez- on a beautiful harvest!👍
I think I need to go back to trim school....that stuff looks great!

The Obama Runtz buds have finally dried down to 62%. I had them in the drying basket for about a week, and then into a turkey bag for another week. They are now in jars with Boveda packets curing. The final weight from that plant is 333 grams of good quality buds and another 45 grams of smaller popcorn sized buds. Total: 378g (13.3 oz).

The two Candida plants are doing OK. The leaf issue I had a couple of weeks ago with the edges yellowing is under control now. I had given both plants a pretty thorough flush and that seems to have stabilized the situation. A few spider mites were found again on the fan leaves so they got another round of insecticidal soap.
The plants are now at 103 days since sprout and 42 days since flip. They have now become pretty floppy so I had to stake them up significantly. I'm not sure what the typical ripening time is for Candida, but I'm thinking they are still about 2-3 weeks away from being ready. They are currently at about 36 days of flowering.

Beautiful pan o nugs, Beez !
And they'll smoke as good as they look... :lot-o-toke:

Those Candidas are looking pretty sweet, too- do you smoke the Candida for the CBD, or do you make edibles and such...or a bit of both...?

:bravo:on all those great looking flowers! That should get you through part of the long dark winter. 🌑

Nice fix on the yellowing and stick with the IPM for the mites.

Floppy is their claim to fame! Here is one of mine when I had to wrangle it back up after untying it:

My longest went 63 days (and probably could have gone a bit longer), so I'd say you have some time.

This is my first run with the Candidas, but most of my CBD runs go towards making capsules with coconut oil. I take one twice a day, as it helps with my arthritis pain. I also make some for my brother. Occasionally I'll smoke some - works really well for my headaches.

Wow, I knew they were prone to be floppy, but yours was crazy.

Thanks for the reference point. That sounds in line with what I was thinking.
I looked it up and folks haven't a clue as to what it is. What does it taste like? Did you create it?
I first grew Obama Runtz last year when my son gave me a couple seeds from a friend who found them in a bag of dispensary weed. I grew them indoors, so I didn't yield very much (maybe 3 oz total), but the buds were super frosty and dense, and the smoke was fabulous. Those buds went fast. I can't really describe the smell or taste - pretty nice, but standard cannabis terps.
Obama Runtz are out there but not much know about it from what I seen
I recently found seeds available from The Seed Fair (last I checked they were a sponsor here). That's where this year's plant came from. Here's some of what they say on their site:

On Thursday I harvested both of my Candida CBD plants. They have be growing under my Nextcore lights for 129 days in 3 gallon fiber pots and FFOF soil. The lights were flipped 68 days ago (flowering for about 62 days). During their growth, they were fed the MegaCrop for the first couple of weeks and then switched to the Emerald Harvest line of nutrients (Grow, Bloom, Emerald Goddess, and King Cola) as well as Terpinator. The first Candida was not topped nor trained. The other was topped twice and recieved LST. Both plants were quit floppy and needed substantial staking.
Here's some pics just before and during the harvest:

Candida #1

With the stakes removed:

The buds were not very large, but were quite frosty and sticky, and they had a slight purple tint to them.

The trichomes still showed some clear and could have used another week, but next week was going to be very busy for me so now was the time.

Here's the pan of buds that I ended up with. Maybe an ounce once they dry/cure.

Candida#2

With stakes removed. I had to keep one stake in the pot, otherwise the whole plant would have fallen over.

The buds were a little larger than #1, but still not very big. Nice and sticky and frosty and smelled nice.

On this one, the trichomes looked a little further along, but probably could have used another week to ripen.

I got a pretty good amount of buds on this plant. Filled up the entire pan.

A special thanks to @InTheShed for gifting me the seeds for these two plants! :thanks: I will spend the winter pondering which plants to grow next. I hope you all have a great holiday season. :green_heart:
