Pyramid Pot Breakdown
Part 2
So I decided to just cut the pot away. It was a cheap Chinese one - I have many high quality
@GeoPot vessels now anyway.
The first two pictures show the pot upon just the cutaway. The second two show after I take off the loose medium, leaving the actual root ball at the bottom.
You can see there’s easily 2 gallons or so of unused medium. What we really have is a tall cylinder with the bottom part maybe 3-4” wider than the top. A 3 on a 5, for this plant, would have been better than a 3 on a 7. I would also argue that it is more difficult for the roots to begin to spread in the lower pot after having established such a strong cylinder first up top. Maybe I could have concentrated the water differently when feeding and used more on the bottom, not sure if that would have filled the pot or not.
For this strain at least, a 7 would have worked the same imho.
Not at all a loss or depressing thing. Now I know for myself (and so do you guys). It’s not as if the plant isn’t fantastic, I’m super happy with the bud. It’s going to be fantastic.
Yield report will be next for the Forbidden Runtz.
