Not sure what I could have done differently w. these outside Photo Fems to prevent the rot.
There really isn't anything you could have done.
The most effective anti-fungal and anti-mould treatments would make your weed toxic, and the moderately effective ones have downsides like prematurely brown stigmas, which can make it hard to know when to harvest.
I'd say they're in the harvest window in terms of clear/cloudy but the rot is the overriding factor.
I agree.
I chopped my outdoor plants early this year too, due to budrot.
The first nugs to dry are actually pretty good.
I'll suggest to you what I suggested to KeithLemon this time last year, which is look for short flowering indicas. If they don't mention a harvest month in the description (like September!) then find one with the shortest indoor flowering days that you think you'd like.
There are two sides to this.
First, while a shorter flowering time is good, an earlier start to flowering can be just as good.
Second, don't go by the breeder's estimate of the harvest month. My bigger plant has a breeder estimate of a late September harvest, but early October she still had at least a week to go, ideally two.
I'd try to find a grower who ran that strain, and get their impressions before buying.
I've only found one strain that was listed as a 45-55 day flowering that was actually ready at 50 days.
