White Fire OG, Growers Choice, 60x60cm 2x2ft, DWC, 150w LED, T.A. GH, ScrOG

Looking good I’ll take a seat if you don’t mind. I’m starting out and can use any info I can get
Welcome, great to have you! My 3 tents are in various stages of flowering, normally. I have 2 in veg at the moment, as I only just started a 3rd tent and had my schedules were not aligned properly. The clone spot journal should normally be the clone/veg journal.

Any questions or just curious, please shoot .. happy to be in a position to share back. I learned it all over here on this forum :)

Nothing better than a nice boring grow. She is looking great :)

Looking good! What day did you plant? Mine look to be about the same time. I think I’m going to veg next week and I’m debating a top and trim, as it’s my first time. I think I’m going dark 36 hours before flip. What are you planning if I may ask
This one is counted from dropping the seed, could be off by one day. Here a pic of her at my counted day 6.
The SSH is counted a week later, from first true leave set. One learns :)

This one has been topped at the end of week 2 I believe, 3 at most. I top them when they are developing the 4th node, trying to get 2 shoots by FIMS-ing the growth tip. Basically, take enough off so that it does form the side branches, but the tip is gone.

Veg is everything from first true leaves till you see pre-flower signs. Is the going wisdom, I believe. I dont care too much about veg. Its not relevant how long photo's veg, you decide when they flip based on experience and what you are attempting.

Dark before flip? Never heard of that. I basically ignore most of the advice that I see surrounding cannabis growing, and replace it with whatever I can find on tomato growing. Worked so far, and makes me perform far less 'rituals' that people swear by, but that I only see performed in the cannabis growing space.

It might stimulate her to burst to bloom faster, but I cant reason how that would work, so yah, I cant advise on that one, sorry.

When she starts filling the net to the point that its full, I flip to 12/12 and let her sort herself out. Usually she has pre-flower signs by then, so I call it preflower immediately after 12/12 and call it bloom as per SSH log last post at the moment. I experimented with 36h dark before harvest last time, will repeat that again probably with Jack Herer, as my Blue Cheese was not the best specimen, and I tested that on her. I dont know what to think of it, and think my GH FinalPart does much the same for her.

I have found that the less I treat them as queens, and just like any other high yield fruiting vegetable, the more she likes it. I do live in a pretty forgiving climate. Its between 45 and 60 here so I dont really have to worry about that part.

I use logic and reason to defoliate the larger fanleaves when they block budsites, and while in veg I just manhandle them into shape basically. I keep doing that till they really start flowering, and from then on I just admire her and make sure she is fed well, I might tuck some leaves, but no more manhandling at that stage.

What is most important is that you find a technique that sits well with you, and that someone took time to explain in YT or in text, and that you know why you are doing what you are doing. There are so many roads to Rome, as the many journals here show, that there is no real clear best way .. just many preferences. Start simple, and you will find yourself drawn to certain things, read up on those, and get a feel for what works best for your style.

I wouldnt copy me, I am trying to find the point at which the minimal amount of effort gets me 80% there .. some people would probably wanna beat me over the head with my own buckets at times :p

Had to add about 4L of water here to get back to the correct level, ignored her a bit over the last few days. Also topped up nutes a bit. Bottle recommendation is EC of 1.4 - 1.8, she is at 1.3 now. pH at 5.96

Looking good mate. Are you going to give them a dark period before flip? Probably not eh if you have preflowers already.
I never do that, even when she isnt showing preflowers yet. I'm hearing about this for the first time now. Is this to promote the switch to flower? Not sure if I would buy into that. How many days is it supposed to take off the time to get to flower?

Yeah it’s suppose to promote transition to flower. A boost so to speak. Apparently the consensus is 36 hours dark. I went 28 hours dark but it helped me completely change the light hours. Was lights off at 4 now it’s lights on. So i figured nothing to lose but a days worth of growth why not. Also figured it couldn’t hurt my root issues considering no light no growth.
