My first babies

This is my first go at growing marijuana so only have internet and YouTube research. I also don't know anyone who has ever grown anything close to what I plan on growing.

One plant is a gift from a friend who didn't have the space for it. He also does not remember what it was from. He had a major light stress and damage early. I took it in since by time it recovered my seedling would be close in time.

My seedling came from a random seed from 12-15 years ago. I have a tin full of anything that smoked good and I found a seed in it. I named it double trouble and you will see why.

I stared unemployed so I went with what I could find on sale. I had a bunch of scrap wood sitting around so I made my own grow box. It's 50x29x50 and lined with mylar. Had some foil tape around so used that where I could. Recently bought a few things now I'm working.

Vivosun aerolight 100 watt (first light) @ 59% intensity sitting 25 inches from the plant. (Gift)
Vivosun aerolight 200 watt (wing and new) @ 57% 25 inches from the plant. Both have a 600 lux reading.

Vivosun aerowave 6" set to max exhaustingair from the box. 9" blowing new air into the box (new)

Vivosun aerostream mini-humidifier 750 ml on intermittent. (New)

Generic air purifier for 600 square feet in the box. (New)

Space heater to control the whole room set to 73°

Vivosun hygrometer and vpd sits around 6

Vivosun flex feed watering base (incoming)

For nutrients I have Recharge, worm castings, Humboldt secret a&b with regular tap water.

Growing in coco rinsed and buffered with calmag. 70/30 coco perlite.

First plant was the gift and second is mine.

Just curious are you putting calmag in your feed water before adding nutrients?
And setting your ph to 5.8?
Great start my friend. :high-five:

No I am not using calmag in feed water. Just the original buffer. I didn't have anything to raise/lower the pheither since I was broke when I started. Just purchased stuff for that. Also got some unsulfured molasses. Didn't use it yet but read it can help.

Like I said I am willing to take any advice.

Coco is a calcium magnet.
It will draw it out of your girls.
To prevent issues and for help with nutrient uptake I put calmag in my plain water before adding full strength nutrients every day.
It's one of the main requirements when using coco.
Coco is similar to hydro in ph requirements.
5.8 is your sweet spot for complete nutrient uptake.
I can get a chart if you like.
Also I feed my coco full strength nutrients with calmag every day to runoff.
This prevents a build-up in the root zone. " runoff "
Never any plain water and never let my coco dry.
You can get a ph/ ppm meter for $20.00 on amazon.
The solution to adjust it is cheap too.$5.00
You will need these supplies for a successful coco grow :Namaste::Namaste:
Sorry to add these experiences but if you don't feed coco properly you will run into issues.

I 100% appreciate the advice. I have the ph meter and the up/down now. I am going right now to buy calmag and more nutrients. Should I add the molasses? A chart would be amazing. One of my favorite lines to use shoes my age. From the G.I. Joe cartoon "knowing is half the battle. Yo Joe!"

With the double trouble plant would I need to water far more or add more nutrients. I imagine it needs more nitrogen then my other plant.

Should I add the molasses?
Unless you add microbial life to your coco im not sure you will gain a benefit

I feed everyone full strength nutrients.
I observe each girl daily for shape, growth and color.
If I see a girl that is hungry i increase her ppms.
if she is choking on nutrients I dial it back.
it's something you will observe as you go.:Namaste:

What line of nutrients are you using?
You can see on the hydro chart below 5.8 picks up each nutrient.

My local gardening supply stores suck so I ordered my nutrients, Humboldt secret a&b. Not gonna use any molasses. I think I have enough left of the gifted nutrients to make a gallon for the night.

I have been feeding 3x a day in smaller amounts to avoid runoff since I was broke. Would it be better to use the self watering base right now? Or should i use it to catch runoff.

At this stage you only need enough to reach the bottom and have a little come out.
Try feeding in a circle away from the center.
Get the roots to go to the outside of the bag for air.
Once you build up your root ball you will need a greater volume.
I prefer to hand water once a day at this age.

Ty so much Bill. I have been doing the outside feeding to help get the roots to spread. Now that each plant has its own light I can see they are much happier.
