H00k Almost Shitz Brix: One More LOS First, Girlz 2018

...:ciao:...Evening :ciao:...busy day today...started out preparing about 5# 's of venison for jerky...made a few jars of Salsa Verde..and chopped 2 more girlz...DP and Caramelo...house is quite smelly right now...piney...fruity...dank...put some peppermint oil in the dehummer, and wet a sponge with water and same in the utility room where the bags are drying...works pretty well at masking odors...kinda got high and a lil tipsy thru' the later stages, so pic's will most likely be manana, unless I get a second wind...not likely!...:rofl:...have a good one!...cheerz...h00k...:rollit::passitleft:...
Sounds like a busy day. Do you have a good venison jerky recipe? I have been telling my wife that if we get enough deer this year that I would like to take one and turn all that isnt burger into jerky.

...mornin' TGY...not a particular recipe per se...don't know if I ever totally duplicate it...just use what I have on hand...I like a hot/sweet, so my marinade will usually contain...

crushed garlic
chopped onion
soy sauce
worcestershire sauce
BBQ sauce
lime juice
hot sauce(I have a cupboard full mexican brands)
canned hot peppers
dried hot peppers
salsa
brown sugar
couple oz.'s dark rum
couple cans of coke to cover all the meat
fresh ground black pepper
I just eyeball amounts...

refrigerate for 24 hours, then take out and spread out on towels and pat dry, then grind pepper over meat and tap in with a mallet...arrange on trays and run dehydrator at 160F for at least 4 hours...usually about 6 hours if the unit is full...I rotate the trays to try and get even doneness..jerky is done when the the outer layer cracks but doesn't break right thru'...then it gets arranged on cookie sheets and into 275F oven for twenty minutes or so, then onto wire racks to cool...then into glass jars (air tight)and into fridge
I cut my pieces about 1/4 inch thick for the marinade...this is more easily done when partly frozen...against grain will be an easier chew...with the grain, a more chewier jerky

dam that sounds good hook been making jerky for years I like the looks of your recipe my wife and I both like pepper jerky I do mine in the oven I take extra long toothpics that's not what they call them but that's what they are anyway stick that threw the piece of jerky and hang it between the racks works pretty good takes about 6-8 hrs. on the lowest setting I also put a piece of foil underneath to catch the drips yum!:D

afternoon...:ciao:...quick update...as stated, chopped the DP and Caramelo yesterday...next will the P X M and CC in the next day or two...have had to run heat 24/7 yesterday and today...had to start wearing pants too!...FFS...:rofl:...unplugged some of the lights now that plant numbers are down...
...so, the pics aren't great...camera is pissing me off...can take better pictures with my phone, but its a lot of fooking around to get them upped to the mag...got a new point and shoot nikon coming mid week...it's a cheapy and hopefully works better for my needs...can't be worse...:laugh:...so without further ado...the fugly girlz in all their faded, floppy, glory...

...DP...

...Caramelo...

bags o buds...

...took a bit of time to trim up, as I was keeping an eye out for aphids...a couple here and there, and mostly down low when I did spot them, so no biggie...

...cheerz...have a great week...h00k...:rollit::passitleft:...

Looks like a good harvest bud! :thanks: for the run down on how you make your jerky! I am hoping to get enough deer to make it this year. I will let you know if I am able to put this to use.

...:thumb:...I got a new dehydrator this summer, when I wanted to do some cobbing and get more precise temps...my previous unit was a yard sale find which was not ideal for cobbing or jerky...only low/med/high...liking this new unit(Hamilton Beach digital)...
...Been doing quite a few batch's, trying to eat down the freezer's to make room for this years buck...assuming success of course...I would say today's batch is my best to date!...Yummy!...going down good with some Dos Equis and White Widow...

...cheerz Bud...h00k...:rollit::passitleft:...

Hey there Doc - congrats on the harvests. Looking mighty fine! Job well done.

Sorry to hear about the pants. Still shorts season here. The best time of year will hopefully be in shorts for 2 more months! Doable with long sleeve shirts.

Man that jerky sounds like goody eats. Makin me hungry now. Goota move out the old and make room for the new, eh?

Nice haul there. Are you feeling Mexico yet??

...thanks Bob...actually managed to get up to shorts temps in the afternoon yesterday...cut the grass for hopefully the last time...hope so...always a busy time right about now,getting ready for winter...brought some jerky to my sister and BIL...they're liking it too...Mexico is in the back of my mind...be there in less than 3 months...might be more in my mind after tonight, as all hell is forecast to let loose...thunderstorms and 50MPH winds...Yikes!...busy today getting ready in case it holds true...did manage to get 2 more girlz harvested as well...more on that in a bit...cheerz...h00k...:rollit::passitleft:...

...Yeah...so down to the 2 BD's now...P X M and CC came down today...neither one would have won beauty contests...:rofl:...they were fading pretty much and a bit under watered...not too shabby tho'...the CC with the exception of the main cola had pretty larfy buddage...tons of orange hairs tho' and sticky as all get out...the P X M had some some heavy buddage, and a fair bit of flop, as well as some unintentional SC'ing due to moving about or brushing against them the last lil while...had to up my peppermint oil masking...missus h00k said she she could smell pot soon as she got out of the car when she got home...oops...:laugh:...there is a skunk in the hood tho'... according to the dog walkers I chat with...
...looks like no pics tonight...been waiting for hours for my phone to upload...will update when/if they show up...the Nikon I ordered hasn't panned out yet...but that's another story...:rolleyes::rolleyes:...take care all...cheerz...h00k...:rollit::passitleft:...

Skunks can't be your friend... wait skunks?? hahaha that's them smellin your weed buddy. I hate real skunks. Don't want them around your grow room that's for sure.

There's a tiny difference in the smell from far away. Only growers know the diff.

Tell your neighbors you thought you saw the skunk crawl under your shed. They won't go anywhere near it. Problem solved.

It's legal now isn't it??

I'm finally scent free (for now) outside my house. But then again I don't have much flower yet.

...hehehe...have used the skunk story in the past, when my 4 inch wouldn't cut it any longer..since upgrading to a 6 inch...no issues at the shed...I just had the windows open while I was trimming...I guess the dog walkers were right tho'...very early this morning, I noticed a skunk going under one of my wood steps down from the driveway...FFS!!...bought some moth balls in town today and threw a whack of them under there and covered up his entrance with pine needles and leaves...don't think pepe le pue is gonna like the smell of naphthalene...:laugh:...I know the smell of skunk up close and personal...got sprayed once...there's a story there involving drugs, ambulances. and not having a flashlight after they respect your demand to be let out...:rofl:...but I digress...
...not legal till the 17th, any will only be online , while they iron out dispensary issues. at least that is what I last heard...looking forward to have a look see at one and there offerings...

...cheerz...h00k...:rollit::passitleft:...

...various Pics...

...saw this Big Mac(Amanita muscaria ) out by my boat when I came back from a walk a bout yesterday...always pondered experimenting...but think I'll pass...:rofl:...

...and last chore for today...start up some fresh produce cobs...

...

...I'll be not forgetting about these this time and have a repeat of the SM cobs...did them without the corn husks...thats a bit of a pita...and I'm lazy at heart these days...:rofl:...did P X M, Caramelo, BD, DP, and PE...

...

...so, kinda on cruise control now...just some drying and curing, and clean up in the shed and get ready for winter...Lots of snow west and south of me...no more procrastinating!:laugh::eek::rolleyes:...
