Gorilla Zkittles, Zkittles Auto & More: First Grow Journal!

Not Cookie Monsters, Weed monsterssss!!

Haha hell yeah I hope so! I'm really happy with the structure, it's perfect for the space I have. I get nervous when they start growing an inch or two everyday lol, I have to start getting creative with height control. Luckily these girls responded really well to my training. Mixed with their crazy branching I should get good results.

Looking good there CM. I went back and read your first page again.

You asked about branch strength and silica.

I foiler on silica along with kelp tea (and my IPM for pestst) starting at 3rd node all the way to the end.

The Kelp Tea has lots of growth hormones as well as other goodies. Silica is VERY good for cell wall strength and also a big boost for the immune system.

What I do with bushy plants is like you did - cut all the lower stuff out about a week after flip right before flowers set.

Cuts are good for clones as long as no flowers. I thin out the inner canopy at this time as well but I don't top the main stem, just thin the main stem area so there's light penetration and try and leave as many big fan leaves as I can. They are the solar panels so are good for plant growth. Hope that makes sense.

I just popped 6 Mandarin Zkittlez and got 6 seedlings going already.

I just planted a Barney's Gorilla Zkittlez, Super Lemon Haze, and a couple others I will be following along as well to see how she reacts to the topping and catch any tips, I wanted to ask with all of your plant food do you have an opinion on flushing with plain water vs flushing agents?

I've had a chaotic week so sorry for the sorta late update. I was out of town a few day and when I got back I was really busy and on top of being busy had ph problems in the veg tent. I think I've got the ph problem worked out or atleast on its way to being worked out so hopefully smooth sailing from here on out.

VEG DAY 30 - I had a high soil PH that caused some tip burn and curling. I had noticed it starting and thought the soil might be a bit hot for the autos since the Gorilla Zkittles didn't seem to being showing any problems so I left town for a few days and when I returned I knew it was something else. The ph in all of them was above 7 so I top dressed the soil with some sulfur and by the next day I noticed a difference. So I'm gonna keep a better eye on that and hopefully won't have anymore problems. Also I topped the GZ probably about 5 or 6 days ago.

DAY 30 since flip - They are getting frosty and I am excited about it lol. Everything seems to be moving along nicely, they handled the defoliation fine and are filling back in.

I know I mentioned at some point I took clones from the mystery girls so I figured I'd take a picture of them too for you guys to see. I haven't taken a clone in over ten years and that was a different kind of growing for me then lol. We were growing outside and had really no idea what we were doing. So honestly I didn't think they would all survive but they did and are actually starting to look decent. So hope y'all enjoy and have a good day.

You asked about branch strength and silica.

I ended up adding some silica to my feeding schedule so I'm hoping it will help atleast somewhat. I've never needed it before but I think I will do like you said and start adding it in veg from now on. It will only benefit the plant and make sure I don't end up like I did this time. Mandarin Zkittles sounds tastey, whos the breeder?

Good to have ya bud. As far as your question, it depends really on a few different things. One being the nutrients being used, alot of nutes use salts that build up in the soil that really need to be flushed out. The nutes I use, Nectar for The Gods, rely more on calcium than salts to deliver everything to the plant. That being said when I water/feed I like to use enough to get a good amount of runoff everytime (unless I'm in a hurry) so it sorta keeps build ups from happening. But when I do flush I use NFTG Herculean Harvest and just ph the solution to about 6.4. The calcium in it is supposed to bind to whatever your flushing out better than just plain water. But like I said it all depends, that's just what I do. My feeding schedule is a bit more time consuming than most people's, but I enjoy it and it works. Hopefully that made a little sense to ya, if I can help or you have anymore questions just ask. Good luck with your grow, you should start a journal and then I can probly give you a better answer that would more fit what you have going on.

Thanks buddy, I'm getting excited to see how they turn out.

I know how you feel mate my flowering girls are about a week behind yours and everyday I can’t wait to unzip the tent for a look.

It was helpful and if I have questions I will ask. I decided I would start a grow journal I have just posted it. Thanks

I Was starting to worry with no update from you in almost a week. Funny how we both sort of ran into a high PH problem with some of our girls. Hopefully everything gets back to its proper spot for a vigorous grow :goodluck:

Good looking grow. That's quite a list of nutrients.
Hello! I hate to ask this but.... I’ve been reading on here trying to find out when to start and how much to start with on the Fox Farms nutes in Fox Farms soil!! I got 3 lil Zkittlez autos girls 8 days olds in the tent and I’m afraid I’m going to mess up!!! Will someone please give me some advice? Please!! I’m new on here and trying figure this site out!! I know it was almost the exact same time. I usually don't have a problem with ph this early and if I end up having issues it's with low ph but it was a relatively quick and easy fix. Can't wait till you start filling those scrog nets up, your pretty talented with that mailine.

I actually started indoor growing with autos and fox farm nutes so I've been in your position. Are you using fox farms ocean forest? If so its usually good for atleast 3 or 4 weeks before you'd need to give an auto anything. Them when you do start feeding I would start at 1/4 strength and slowly increase if needed. One thing you do need to keep and eye on is your soil ph, do you have a ph pen?
