Gorilla Zkittles, Zkittles Auto & More: First Grow Journal!

I actually started indoor growing with autos and fox farm nutes so I've been in your position. Are you using fox farms ocean forest? If so its usually good for atleast 3 or 4 weeks before you'd need to give an auto anything. Them when you do start feeding I would start at 1/4 strength and slowly increase if needed. One thing you do need to keep and eye on is your soil ph, do you have a ph pen?

Yes CookieMonster420 it’s Ocean Forest and yes I have a PH pen. I’ve been watering ever 2 to 3 days. Do I just check the run off? I’m in fabric 5 gallon pots too. I really appreciate you help and advice. I haven’t grow bud in 25 yrs. and it was outside in the woods. This is my first indoor and medical grow!! Freaking me out!! I don’t want to kill these girls!! They look healthy and happy!! Thank you again! Very much!!

I’m running 6.5 ph water. Okay... so let’s say Fox Farms says 2 tsp of bloom I would 2- 1/4 tsp or 1- 1/4 tsp? That’s were I’m getting confused!!

Do I just check the run off?

You can do that or a slurry test. Some people say runoff ph isn't very accurate but that's what I do for the most part unless I'm having problems then I do a slurry.

1/4 (quarter) strength of 2 tsp is 1/2 (half) tsp. Are you talking about Tiger Bloom? I would start with that and Grow Big and then switch Grow Big for Big Bloom once your sure your in flower. When I say your sure your in flower what I mean is that with autos just because you see pistils doesn't mean flower has started. They still need the veg nutes while they are beginning to start forming flowers.

Yes, I understand 1/4= 1 tps, 1/2=2tsp and 3/4= 3 tsp. Where I’m get confused is do I step down to 1/4= 2 tsp or 1/2=2 tsp? And I was going to start with Big Grow and was not sure when to start Tiger Bloom, so thank you for letting me know!! I would have probably messed up there! And what is meant by slurry??? Boyyy I have heard that one!! Man, I sorry for being such a pain in the a$$!!! I really do appreciate all you help and info!! Thank you!!

Okay Big Grow call for 2 tsp at 4 week so would I do 1/4 on the 2 tsp or 1/2 on 2 tsp? And about Big Bloom? Do I use it at the same time I start Big Grow??? Or not at all?

Sorry about the mix up on the bloom, I was using that for a example. I was at work when I message you, trying to hurry and not get caught be my boss! Lol! Thank you CookieMonster420! I appreciate you!

I honestly am not sure if I know what your trying to say there lol. And you can use tiger bloom when you start feeding all the way to your final flush.
Sorry CookieMonster420! Heck I confuse myself!!! Okay, let me try it like this! First feeding Grow Big the chart says 3 tsp would I go 1/4 for each tsp that it calls for or just 1/4 tsp for the 3 tsp?

Mandarin Zkittles sounds tastey, whos the breeder?

Ethos.

I like to foiler on the silica. I make a HorseTail Fern Tea and also add Pro-tekt to the foiler with the Horsetail tea and kelp tea, spray away. Plants get happy big and strong stems. The Kelp tea helps with growth as it has many growth hormones to add to the goodness.

We can add these to the soil as well. I like to foiler on the silica. I have plenty of silica in my soil mix thru addition of Basalt rock dust and local EWC (we live on an extinct volcano - the soil sparkles so the EWC is the best specially for silica).

Its all good and it all helps.

Zkittles have some big ass fan leaves. Biggest I've seen in a while.

Time is just flying by, I can believe it's almost March already. Hopefully some nice weather will break soon, we have had some crappy weather almost constantly the past couple weeks. The plants are moving along nicely, no major problems so I can't complain. Hope y'all are having good luck with your grows.

Veg Day 39 - The Gorilla Zkittles is almost to the point where I'll start tieing down branches to try and make my conopy as even as possible before flower. The forks from the second topping are doing good and on the one plant, you can see in a picture, that there's a random extra branch popping out so hopefully it will mature into a good branch and produce some buds. It looks sorta cool. They had some awsome huge fan leaves going but I had to chop them off, the were just getting it the way. I also trimmed some other leaves and some bud sites that I wouldn't want for flower so I just got rid of them now. I took before and after pictures, I just watered them so they were a bit droopy.

(Auto)Flower Day 7? - The Zkittlez Auto are actually impressing me a little. Well 2 of the 3 are, one of them is just small. They already have trichomes covering a good amount of leaves and the buds came out of nowhere and are noticeably bigger everyday. If I didn't screw up those few days because of the ph I think they would be even better. Time will tell. And I put a ? after flower day 7 because I'm a horrible judge when flower actually starts, they are at 39 days total if anyone's following along.

Day 39 since flip - The mystery girls trichomes are a thing of beauty. I'm hoping they start bulking up soon but even if they don't get huge, I think the quality and bag appeal will make up for it. The smell is starting to make my mouth water too, it's that smell that you want to just fill up your nose with so you can smell it all day lol. They do have a very small amount of tip discoloration but I'm ok with it because atleast I know they are maxxed out on nutrients.

Here's a shot of the clones. They are doing good, a couple of them are gnarly. They have a bunch of branches crammed in a small area so I'm interested to see how they turn out. I'm in no hurry with them though, I dont really have room right now for them to get huge.

You can clean out the areas on the clones that are sorta crowded. It will help later on. Also sorting it out now will slow them down a little bit.

It will help with shape later when you want to flower them.

Your clones look great! I like your choice of containers. Square pots a the best.

I ended up cleanin out all the crazy leaves and they did end up looking much better. Thanks for the advise though, it's much appreciated. I need to get back on track and start updating more. Hopefully tonight I'll have some time to get some pictures, I've actually just got my tent back on track... I think lol.

Veg Day 48 - Had a light issue for a bit and they were looking sad and droopy but I got it under control and they and back on track. Started some training, topped a couple more branches, and even supercropped a branch to keep everything even. And to be honest I just like those big knuckles it turns out to be. They are ready for a new home but I have to wait for the other ones to finish flowering for space. On the one where preflowers normally are there are actually branches forming, I'm sure they won't amount to anything and be chopped in the lollipop but I thought it looked cool so I added a picture.

(Auto)Flower Day 16 - Growth is good but they also suffered from the light issues and their leaves didn't fair so well. Their still getting frosty as hell and I think without my screwups they have potential to be very nice plants.

Day 48 since flip - We are getting close to the end, no more nutes and I did have to add some stakes to one. The stakes were needed because of slender branches and not huge colas unfortunately. Not that I'm upset, I've always been a quality over quantity kind of guy and these buds look like they should be quality. I'd say no more than 2 weeks until chop.

Clones - They were defoliated a bit and have started filling back in and looking a little more like plants. I've started to have a little fun with them. Topped one, trained a couple in different ways and haven't stressed about them for one minute. It's nice to have something that if it works out cool, if not cool.

Thanks to you guys who continue to follow along even if you don't partake in conversation I appreciate the lurkers too. But I encourage anyone to ask any questions you might have and comments are always welcome especially if you see me doing something wrong. Your not gonna hurt my feelings.

Just a quick update and some pictures. Everything seems to be back on track with the Gorilla Zkittles and they are looking good. Clones are doing great still, should have room to give the bigger homes in a little over a week. The Skittles Autos dont look very pretty but they are bulking up and frosty. I wish I would have given them a clean run with no problems because I think they could have such fat colas. And lastly I chopped one of the mystery girls last night. Not the biggest buds but man are they beautiful. The other two should be done in a bit over a week. Hope everyone's doing good.

Girls are looking good. That mystery girl, I noticed you left a bud on the stem after your harvest. Are you going keep it in a vegetative state incase you like her and want to reveg again later?
