X Marks the Spot - XLR8's Big Bang Auto Hydro Grow 2011

congrats XL :) keep up the good work man!!! You can give me all the good tips on my auto grow sometime in the near future :yahoo:

I tried ta rep ya X, but I guess I gotta spread the love around a little first! Great job keeping all those details, and even better job puting it all into a spread sheet! I have a certificate stating that I am thoroughly capable of using Excel and all it's features:rofl: I also have certs for all the other major programs, Word, Powerpoint and so on.....I can barely type!! ( Took a class for some credits a few years ago ) I cant remember how to use any of it! Maybe someday I'll have you walk me through it again huh?...Or maybe you know of one thats free and easy to use?....:):peacetwo:

I've only ever used the Microsoft products like the ones you had the certificates in, so I can't recommend anything else. However, Word and Exel are great products if you have access to them. There are some decent free ones out there that are pretty good and similar to use I'm told, but don't know their names. I'd be happy to help if you need it sometime buddy! Thanks for the attempted +rep, it's the thought that counts!

Well look at you! MOM! We did it! :cheer:

Congratulations! :)

Couldn't have gone to better person!

:thanks: OMM ~ Glad to see you around. Hope Jo is hanging in there okay (you too).

Any time Nap - but I'm still figuring it out as I go. She might be a dud yet, we'll have to wait and see. :)

I'm anxious to get more going, but it might not be a good time yet... Still have to figure it all out for sure. I'm curious to see how stealth the new room is when flowers are making more aroma.

Bud I'm always good for giving advice whether I should be or not. :bong:

They should have a brownie emoticon. I'm in another lovely brownie fog. :) :) :)

Brownies are the best! Hands downn

:)

I agree w1sest - brownies rock. My last batch were so completely strong, though, that they've lasted over a week now. One 1"x1" brownie or so is P-LENTY. Wife and I just finished 'em more than a week after making them.

They are butt-kickers and not for lightweights! (Not that that's a bad thing). The word that comes to mind every time I have one is "devastating". You are not going anywhere after eating one of those brownies, and the high lasts for hours.

The most recent tweaks I made to that brownie recipe, without question, made a BIG difference in potency. They almost scared me away from brownies. But I got back on the horse and have had a lot of fun with them this week in moderation.

Hey X, sorry if I missed it brother, but what were the tweaks you made to your recipe to increase potency? I've recently been really into cookies, and am wondering if maybe I can apply whatever it is you're doing to my recipies....

Basically got a lot more scientific about "decarbing" the bud, added soy lecithin, monitored temps more carefully, used a mixture of oils, and put 3 separate strains into it. Overall, about the same quantity of herb - but these tweaks made it at least twice as strong. I think the "soy lecithin" probably makes the biggest difference if I had to make a guess...

Those cookies sound great! But scary. I want one...make that 2! :)

I'd love to share a couple if I could - you'd love 'em. They put you back in your seat and turn you numb.

I was re reading your journal and your new setup somewhat looked like the undercurrent system, remember one of those hydro systems floating around? Also, how are your res temps? That's still my biggest issue without a chiller

Hiya w1sest -

I don't remember ever seeing an MJ grow with one but I LOVE those things. I saw them in a hydroponic shop once and they had, literally, small TREES growing in them. Healthy looking TREES. I'm pretty sure I drooled when I saw that thing and how it worked. It looks pretty amazing. But - very expensive.

For anyone who's never seen the system:

Doesn't that rock!?

You know, I've never had issues with res temps, so I've never really measured them. I probably should measure now though as I've got an entirely new set-up going with a few more unknowns.

The single bucket I have going with the auto has really healthy roots bursting out of the larger net-pot I transported her into now - really nice white healthy fuzzy roots. (not mold fuzzy). So I'm thinking that temps must be okay with the bucket, too.

I haven't got the new Flo n Grow going yet, and I'm still deciding on when to get it rolling. Lots going on personally right now (nothing bad).
