You've come a long way in a very little time! :welldone:

Thanks K - I appreciate that a lot my friend. I wish I could have you guys cheer me on in all other aspects of life too. :)

Uh oh! I'm gonna have to head right over to your journal and see what's up... Hope it's not too bad! :goodluck:

:yahoo::rofl::yahoo::rofl::yahoo::rofl::yahoo::rofl: Love it when you dive by, Q!

Damn it I SWEAR that wasnt on purpose bro!!!!:rofl::rofl: I think my "R" button is less sensitive than the rest of my buttons!! DAMN.:Namaste:

LOL - that was an accident again?! Too funny! Here I just thought you were exercising your sense of humor. :)

Also funny is that you were posting in my journal the same time I was posting in yours. :high-five:

Dude X you WON broham!! Congratulations on MOTM! My vote counted!!:blunt::blunt:

Holy smokes! Awesome man, i didn't even know u were nominated! Hell I just got caught up reading ur journal, I can't even barely keep up with my own plus everyone else's too! Congrats buddy! :adore:

Thanks guys, appreciate that! :high-five:

Well look at you Mr. MEMBER OF THE MONTH MAY 2011!!!! WOO HOO!!!! :bravo:!!!

Way to go XLR8!!! And then my ass pulling out Plant of the Month at the very end woo!
May has been a very good month indeed with me, you and Janja pickin up the wins!

Just scoped out your most recent pictures and gatta say I definetly dig that shelf of Dutch Master Nutrients I peep'd dude that's FAT!!!!

Im assuming your using DM ZONE in your DWC??? I love that stuff man it's fucking magic I sware I use it 100% of the time on ALL my girls! ZONE is like the hygrozyme of Deep Water Culture!
I've always heard and read that THE THREE KEYS TO SUCCESS WITH DEEP WATER CULTURE ARE:
1.A Sterile Resivour
2.Temps between 65-69 deg/F
3.Agitated/Aerated nutrient solution!

But yeah man right now i've been using Dutch Master Gold Zone GROW A and B for Veggplus the Dutch Master Zone for bloom and veg. I gatta say i've been extremely happy with how Dutch Master Grow has performed in Veg. My Cycle #3 thats still in Veg is florescent green right now thanks to that stuff and they never burn or show signs or issues whatsoever I love it!!!!!!

The only reason im not using Dutch Master for Bloom right now is because my room mate and I wanted to get a scence of Advanced Nutrients as well plus they just have so many freaking options so we went with them and i'll probably stay with them until I use up all my sensizyme and kushi kush which are what im using as my bloom base right now. Don't get me wrong Advanced Nutrients has worked amazingly well for me, obviously if I won POTM, but the thing is with them-because i've bought so many different random solutions from them there isn't a "nutrient calculator" that fits my inventory so I just kinda.....figure it out as I go taking every increasingly accurate notes. Im already taking advantage of the in depth notes I took on shapey-something I highly recommend you and everyone else on this website do!

But yeah man once I run out of my Advanced Nutrients i'll be picking up Dutch Master A and B Bloom, add .27 grow/bloom and possibly there foliar spray as well which i've also heard is miracle juice as well!!!

THEN I CAN FOLLOW DUTCH MASTERS NUTRIENT CALCULATOR ON THERE WEBSITE AND SEE IF THEY GIVES ME ANY ADVANTAGES over what i've been doing.

By chance do you use DM's nutrient Calculator?
Also just wonderind do you use DM's "add .27" bloom or grow version? I ALMOST picked some up the other day, I was going to get the "add .27 grow" to go along with my veg nutrients but the hydro-store guy told me i'd be wasting my money and that a better choice that would do wonders for my veg cycle and then could also be used in the bloom cycle was Advanced Nutrients "B-52" which I gatta say I am pretty fucking stoked to have picked up

As growth has only continued to speed up with both Veg and Bloom plants!!!

But yeah man just thought i'd throw that info out at you. Trying to get more involved and into other's grow journals more! Take it easy dude!

Hi Hydro ~ Nice post, brother! :high-five:

Thanks for the MOTM props. :thanks:

No doubt about it, Shapey was an awesome plant that deserved to win POTM. :high-five:

Right now, I'm using all Dutch Master nutrients - but I'm thinking of trying something different soon for comparison. I've been really happy with DM so far, and I have no complaints, but then I haven't used much else. I did use Advanced Nutes some on part of my first grow, and part of another. I had no complaints with them either, but I had a hard time finding them around here. Having said that, they seem to be more readily available again, and I still have a bunch of AN stuff, so I might give 'em another shot.

As far as what I use, I use the "DM Gold A/B grow" and "A/B flower" for main nutrients, DM Silica, DM Zone, and "Add .27 Grow" for Veg, "Add .27 Bloom" for flowering. I still have a bunch of DM's Max Grow and Max Flower that I might use up sometime, (Add .27 is the newer/better product). That's it for nutrients for me right now - all DM, and everything they recommend.

Here's the thing, though - they get kind of expensive. I'm hoping to find a little more cost effective lineup at some point. Like you though, I'm going to probably use up what I have first.

I totally agree with you on the 3 keys to success for deep water culture. When I think of the few problems I've ever had they were due to insufficient aeration or an unsterile reservoir. I've never had reservoir temp issues, but I know a number of people who have.

For what it's worth, I up the strength of Zone in my set-ups. I've had a couple of issues with my roots lately, and it's always fixed itself by "upping" the Zone to about 1/3 more than recommended "standard" amount. I go a just a hair over their recommended "high" dose, frankly. My plants and roots always do better at or slightly above their more aggressive recommendation. If you ever have root issues or concerns, try bumping up the Zone just a tad - it's worked for me.

The biggest reason I was comfortable doing it, was that they have lowered their recommendations for it over time, and everything always worked great at the higher levels they used to recommend. Only times I've had root issues is when going to their newer lower recommendations...

If I decide to use up my AN stuff, I'm definitely going to add B52 to the mix.

I do use their calculator as a starting point, but I usually tweak it week to week depending on what I'm seeing from the plants. Usually if I tweak, I tweak the base nutrients under what they recommend a tad.

Good notes do help, and it's part of why I started journaling again as the journals really help ME out, plus I have all the awesome minds here I can tap into if something goes wrong.

I'm a bit jealous of the shelf in YOUR pic, frankly! Carboload, B52, SSU, and even a "Miss Rosebud" picture hiding in the background! :high-five:

Congrats Xlr8 on MOTM!! Been away for awhile but back in action now! Hopefully I'll toss a clone in and get a proper journal running soon

:cheer:

I literally couldn't have done it without you, brother! I appreciate that you took the time and were thoughtful enough to nominate me for it.

Yeah - toss that clone in when you get a moment. I'd love to follow along! :high-five:

Nice to see you around again a bit more, T-Dub. (sorry thought of a new nickname for you in all my brownie haze...) :)

To piggy back on something from my post to Hydro - here's a spreadsheet I made with nutrient amounts (based on 8 gallons) that I used for my last grow (blueberry, etc.) I have another one for the auto in the bucket, but it's the same formula different res. size. This should give an idea of what I'm using, though. Oh, and that grow I used Max Grow instead of Add .27 while in veg, the switched to Add .27 in flower:

I tried ta rep ya X, but I guess I gotta spread the love around a little first! Great job keeping all those details, and even better job puting it all into a spread sheet! I have a certificate stating that I am thoroughly capable of using Excel and all it's features:rofl: I also have certs for all the other major programs, Word, Powerpoint and so on.....I can barely type!! ( Took a class for some credits a few years ago ) I cant remember how to use any of it! Maybe someday I'll have you walk me through it again huh?...Or maybe you know of one thats free and easy to use?....:):peacetwo:
