X Marks the Spot - XLR8's Big Bang Auto Hydro Grow 2011

Hey X, good call on posting this for all to see, I just re-read the posting guidlines a little while ago, and found out there are a few things I've done since the beginning, like all caps, or excessive use of punctuation, Hell, I just did both of those in a post on OMM's new journal not 30 minutes ago! I've never meant to "violate" any of the rules here, but I aparently have, many times without knowing it. :Namaste::peacetwo:

Quix,

We all loved the guy, but you need to be careful:

Questions & Answers - Previously Banned Members & Banned Websites

It's been my experience that the mod's aren't "gung-ho" to ban anyone. I know I've personally, without realizing it, violated the terms several times and have had my posts either edited or removed, and received a nice note from the mod's simply explaining why. They could see from my posts that it was unintentional and were very understanding.

I don't know what's happened to any of the banned members, but I suspect they were also contacted by the mod's and, for whatever reason, couldn't come to an understanding.

I'll admit there is a pun intended here, but it's probably better to "let sleeping dogs lie". :rip:

Thanks for your understanding and support everyone! :goodjob:

You should be receiving explanations soon via pm, as we like to keep these things behind the scenes, as to not interrupt our mission in progress of changing laws, saving the planet and saving the people, by creating Cannabis awareness to the world, until it is 420% legal in every city, state and country worldwide.

Well, lots of news to report - I'll try to get pictures today or tomorrow.

As far as the auto goes, she's started flowering and is looking really healthy still. She's perked up and exploding with growth during the past week. I did a reservoir change and upped her nutrients to about 950ppm. Still running Dutch Master nutes with her. Some of her roots have gone through the larger netpot she was transplanted into (I just put the 5" netpot inside of the 8"), and are hanging into the bucket - and they look really good so far.

Also, I've been knocking myself out the last two days again and put the new grow room back together now that it's dried out, sanitized, etc. I've got everything back together, and added a better Air King wall-mount fan for circulation. I also put a dust/mold guard on the passive intake, and improved the electrical/plug/timer situation in there. Finally, I stuck a small humidifier in the tent to add some humidity (now that I'm out of the mothership, I have a little humidifier that fits the tent better).

I'm so stoked to break out the toys again! It feels great to be back on track and having the new space humming once again. :yahoo:

Count me in on this one, no way I'm gonna miss it...Auto's are awesome if you take care of them right....Really aren't TOO needy either...:thumb:

:welcome: GT! Nice to have you here. This is the first auto I've grown and I was a little hard on her early on (too much going on with trying to build/upgrade my new grow space, then I had a weather related flood.) However, she's doing really well now since I moved her into her new home (little DIY waterfarm/DWC bucket).

Nice to have you here - cool name btw! :thumb:

Much Obliged my friend, it is an honor to be here.:Namaste: Autos in my opinion are a great breakthrough to the genetics we have available today, and I'm sure will make a huge difference in the way we think about growing. And I am very sorry about the flood damage you had, I have friends that have suffered similar circumstances lately, and some family that was hit pretty hard by the recent tornados..I will keep you in my prayers my friend.:goodluck:

Hi xlr8. :)

So glad you have things cleaned up. You seemed to have done what I hoped you would...you made it even better than it was before. What a mess that was. Good to hear your auto is doing good. You sound good too! Glad you didn't hurt yourself doing it old friend. :thumb:

Thanks buddy, It feels so good getting it up and running again. I'm almost as excited to see you get everything rolling and going, truthfully. I wish I had the space to have a tent like yours - that thing rocks! (Though it's no replacement for the great outdoors I'm sure.) Hope Jo is doing okay and that your hand isn't bothering you too much. I'm like you, a little at a time, and try not to over-do it. (Not that that always works!)

I'm thinking of friends, family and others who gave their lives for our country, today.

I also know that there are many people here at 420mag who have served time defending our freedom and have sacrificed much so that we could have liberty. A sincere :thanks: to you all today and always! :thumb:

A couple of photos to update things a bit. These first few were taken on May 26th, and she was living under the T5 in her bucket:

Here is a picture from today, more and more pistils a poppin' (still tough to see in the photos, but she's on her way). I put the HPS bulb on her today. I tried to remove some of the reds in the pictue, but it's tough:

Hey XL! Very happy for you my friend! And I agree with OMM, I knew once you put the room back together it would be better than before. That little bucket you have the big bang in seems to work better than perfect! Really awesome brother. She couldn't be any healthier than she is right now. Congrats on the pistils, and congrats on getting back up n runnin!!:goodjob:

Thanks GT - that's very thoughtful of you. It could have been so much worse - I was just fortunate it wasn't as bad as it could have been. I feel so bad for the recent tornado victims. Tough weather lately!

Sorry, I almost missed this post somehow. Damn brownies! :):):)

Hi there Xlr8. ;)

Things are looking good again. Fine job...and your still alive!

That little auto flower looks great! :adore:

After my auto disaster, I'm still a bit on the show me side.

Thanks for the help with ballast. It didn't have fuse that I could find. One was no good. :hmmmm:

Great work on putting the pieces back together, Bro! :bravo:

Sorry it's been a couple days since I've caught up, but dealing with some growroom emergencies of my own.

You've come a long way in a very little time! :welldone:

Thanks Nap! This auto thing is new for me, and it's interesting to me that they flower regardless of light cycle. I would have liked to have "vegged" this plant a bit more, but that's out of my hands with an auto. It's going to flower when it's going to flower I guess.

The seed vendor mentioned that this strain would flower from 18 down to 12 hours of light per day. Makes me wonder if I could have gotten more veg time doing a 20 or 24 hour per day veg. I found that 18 down to 12 thing a bit interesting, because I've heard a number of people recommend a 20/4 light cycle for autos.

Thanks for your encouragement my friend - you have a great way about you when it comes to encouragement and support. I have really enjoyed having you be a part of my journal, Nap. :high-five:

I can't believe how quickly I was able to get the room put back together. It helps that I was pretty meticulous with clearing it out and removing everything. Usually I lose stuff, break stuff, can't remember where I put it... But, despite all the flooding and issues, I took my time and it REALLY helped when I put it all back together. Only took about 2 hours to put back together! (Another couple to tweak it, etc.) -- but only about 2 hours to get it where it was before the basement tried to go snorkeling...

It will be interesting to see how this auto does. It's a nice looking plant at the moment, and it's been pretty resilient to some issues early on. I'm hoping to be pleasantly surprised, yield-wise.

I HAVE seen a couple of really nice autos grown on this site. Alaska Lady's Blue Matero automatic was an amazingly beautiful plant, and it looked like it had some pretty nice bud production. I'd like to grow one like that. :) For anyone who didn't see it - how's this for an auto?!:

I'm glad you got your ballast figured out. What kind/brand of ballast did you go with again? You are going to rock indoors with the new tent and lights. I have no doubt. :cheer:
