Smokerjoes 2nd Journal

Probably isnt needed but im not expert on heat signatures. I personally always go to cautious then to relaxed. Just type flir into a search engine or watch the film never get busted and it covers flir in detail in that film. I will link it here. Its also perma linked in my blog posts.

ok im just gonna come out an say it shit that's almost an hr and a half lol
I say the easiest way is to keep the trap shut would be 1 on the list lol
ok man

I guess I am just a rare breed that loved documentaries then

:high-five:I still love a good documentary,,from Ganja to ancient culturesand that was some good info
on mylar,, my first couple of grows indoors were under a 600w hps now apart from the leccy bill being high,,,it was almost impossible to keep my temps at the right level,, in the summer we have the copters come an hover ,, I still think having the mylar lining helped to throw them from my trail,, Happy days :volcano-smiley:

SmokerJoe,

I have am a newby at medical, though I have decades of experience hands on testing it. cough cough... I have a question for you about timing. I have two flower spaces, one space is in 12/12 and the other is 36/12. One plant has been in 12/12 its whole cycle, while the other spent 2 weeks outdoors, and then now 2 weeks under the 36/12. Its really starting to "enjoy" the extra light the last few days the buds have seemed to really put on some growth.

Can you point me toward research on the 36/12 cycle? I am pondering moving the 12/12 area to 36/12 for its next grow. Its doing really well, but the extra light really seems to add some extra growth. I would swear the plant (left in there, I just harvested my first plant, which was co sharing the space), is adding vegetative growth along with bud growth. Enough I am wondering about a ratio of light and dark that allows an endless grow at this point. lol...

Hello aki. If you do a ask.com search for light cycles for cannabis you will find a wealth of information. A lot of the results will bring you back to this website. I will say that in my own experience 36/12 does work well but it should be noted it will take longer to flower and so will take a extra 2-3 weeks . To avoid as much of this extra flowering time I advise starting the flowering at 12/12 then after flowers appear and the plants have been sexed then switch to the cycle you desire. So go do a search engine query as I did and you will have a large number of articles to read to keep you busy. Thanks for the question.

Hello Joe. See you're still handing out great info. Just sliding through...

Hey everyone here are the 2 plants before harvest. A lot was taken the week before this but with what is left it is still easily more then 3-4 of my previous plants. The colas on the plant in which I used my stepping training method along with the mainlining technique and the second set of colas are almost as long and just as thick as my main colas. 2 of the colas are so heavy they literally split the stem and the branch fell to the wall and the plant healed it back up. Eyeballing it Id say its at least 14 inches in length and about 8 inches wide at the largest point. All in all I will say that my training method along with the one I just learnt prior to this grow increased my yield and from my extensive.. ahem tests have produced a more potent crop. After the leaves are manicured I will take pics of those plants without those pesky leaves in the way.

Damn well for the space you do have that is more then adequate. I hope you intend to pipe in co2 for the plants to utilize that much light.

Lol....I'm gonna start with one who knows, that might b all I need for now. But yes I thought about co2..... Like I said b4 prolly won't go all out for my first time. I have never really even grow anything...lol. But thought for the price can't have enough light. After some more research I'll prolly get a small 2ft. 6400k t5 at least to sprout them. Sounds like this led will b a waste of energy at least for the first week. Any thoughts?

The led takes longer for plants to germinate because they offer cooler temps while hps germinate the best because of warmer temps. led and cfl put out roughly the same amounts of energy with led more for the money but flourescents are fine for germinating. Just try to keep the temps in the upper 70's to mid 80's. You may have to supplement heat for them to have a better chance in the cool area which you are growing.

Nice looking girls Joe. Do you need more Co2 with more lighting?

Yeah its the only way to maximize potential. Marijuana is pretty easy to grow but it has needs like people have needs. Water,light,co2,temperature. If you have optimal light, water and temps but lack co2 then the co2 will be the limiting factor in how the marijuana grows. Cannabis will always grow only to the point that their most limiting factor allows them to grow and this is why most growers cant achieve the desired results. Its a full circle if you think about it. The more light the plant has the more water it will require. The more water it requires the bigger the plant will be and so it will require more food. Since the plant is functioning at a higher level the temps need increased. When you increase the temps then more co2 can be utilized by the plant. Once you learn this basic pattern your growing ability will sky rocket and this advice can turn any grower from a new grower to a intermediate grower with a lot of success .

Thanxx Joe. I just blogged that post. Great info...

The co2 in the earths atmosphere is 350-400 ppm. Under ideal conditions your plant can utilize 1500 ppm(diminishing returns after 1000ppm) Not to get off track here but this is the very first thing I mention to global warming alarmists who say co2 is to blame. If there is to much co2 then why were co2 levels higher in the prehistoric periods and diminishing over time to the point gardeners need to supplement or add in co2 to keep plants thriving.
