just like on tv:)

week 18 !! dang, it's been a long time growin. 56 days since 12/12, flowering 52 days ... her leaves are turning yellow and she's petering out. her trichomes are mostly cloudy and some just turning amber. i figure one more week should do it; i already harvested the small lower branches in hopes of getting the big buds a bit fatter. after a quick dry i sampled some and it's prolly the best i have grown under CFL's.

i'll be keeping my thumbs crossed that the 2 bag seed plants are female...or at least one of em is

so so pretty gots my thumbs crossed for you too!

well i did a partial harvest last night. i cut off the 10 biggest colas 6 were 10" and 4 were 8" ...no pics tho, i'ts too depressing to have the before shrinkage pics reminding me how big they were... when it's all dried it should be close to 3 oz's of really nice bud.
i left the rest to keep on growing her trichs are almost all cloudy but hardly any amber.

awsome DJ! dont get to depressed you could have gotten no harvest at all.
but you have and a fine one it is!
and you still got some in the oven:):bravo:

oh yeah I posted some new pics of my scrog today if you want to check them out.

it really does prove that cfls can work and work well, i still use cfls for my clones and seedlings, i tried starting plants under my dual spectrum hps and they stretch like crazy, even though the bulb contains the blue light needed for veg, so i decided to go back to the cfls for starting the plants under, and i found the plants grow better under the cfls and have no stretch then after a couple of weeks the plants go under the hps and they dont stretch as much then, i think its just the first couple of weeks where the hps causes the stretch,

so ill continue to use cfls to start my plants, that is till i get a mh bulb and i can then try that for veg,

the plants look great and you got amazing results, well done

thanks don... well the final tally is 1oz amazin, bud 2 oz really good bud and an 1-1/2 oz of good popcorn bud. all grown under CFL's the scrog was a 6 month project. the total cost for the grow was about $120 in electricity and $50 for soil and whatnots...about the price of an average quality 1/2 oz. i have had very good results starting and vegin and flowering plants under CFL's. the flowering cycle is more of a challenge, the 2700 K CFL's don't seem to have the penetrating strength of the 6500 K bulbs do. growing the SGROG method i got much better results in the flowering cycle. my current grow i'm trying a mix of 6500 K and 2700 K during flowering to see if it makes a diff.
the bottom line is it works !! for over a year now i have been self-sufficient.

well this is the end of this journal, thanks to all who subed and helped out during the ruff patches.

i have read that a lot of people go with a 50-50 ratio with the lights for both stages, plus in nature their getting the full spectrum as well, this is why i went with the dual spectrum hps, but it did not give me the results im looking for but as its a digital hps ballast this means i can get a mh bulb and use that for veg, so thats what ill be doing after harvesting these big plants, then i can compare the growth rate between the mh and the cfls, but the truth is cfls work and i have seen some amazing buds grown under cfls, plus i know they work cuz i used them from day 1, and i still use them to start my plants under as my 400 watt dual spectrum hps giving out 55,000lumins just makes them stretch like crazy, my last sour kush was 5 ft tall and the nodes where over 8 inches apart lower down the plant, but when it was in flower under the hps it started to grow slower and the nodes got closer together giving me a good yield in the end, it seems that hps makes the plants stretch in the first 2 or 3 weeks, after that they tend to stop stretching as much, but if i start plants under the cfls for 2 weeks then put the plants under the hps then i dont get this crazy stretch at all
