Noobymacdooby's 2nd Grow - Cheese & Local Genetics - All The Gear But No Idea

I think if you did the a.c. up with a filter and maybe just had a clean pair of clothes to go into the room with you'd be good. It's definitely worth trying again your set up is sick as

Yup all a learning curve so won't be giving up any time soon. My only "problem" now is that I most likely need to invest in good seeds to be sure about things on the genetics side but I'm hesitant to go through with it only to screw them up during the grow. The ol' catch 22 situation.

Will push ahead with this grow for a couple more days and see what happens. There doesn't seem to be more seeds developing at the moment. Was tempted to even just carry on with the grow and pollenate some buds with my cheese male that's going to pop some sacks soon. Just don't want to bother making cheese hermie crosses. But a cheese and local sativa blend could be interesting. Or a cheese and swazi.

It would be sweet! Swazi is an amazing sounding strain!
Did you ever find a company that would ship seeds out your way?

Honestly if I'm putting 3 to 4 months into a grow, seeds are my ground zero- if genetics are good, you can basically fix everything else-if genetics are bad, no amount of environmental control will give you a good result lol

Just how I feel about it, lol but I'm kinda crazy so, you know ;)

Well my current options are:

Buy locally - involves me going to an ATM and depositing money, so a good chance I get recorded on video...

Buy internationally - most banks will ship here, but all of them only re-ship once with no refunds so potentially throwing money down a hole.

Busy exploring some other options for seeds locally too.

The guy who gave me the cheese also gave me 3 other seeds that may be ak47 , cronic or northern lights...or a hybrid of the 3 not sure, bad labeling. So those would at least be a step up from the bag seed. I did also buy some trainwreck which had a few seeds in it. Not sure if it 100% trainwreck but it was a good smoke so it could be a better start.

I'm also going to check with some of the local guys here on the forums about having seeds sent to a friend 1st who then posts them to me. Would have to do some research on seed packaging

How tight is mail security where your at? Most people have no problem with international seed orders-as long as your name isn't flagged by the gov't or you have an alias to use you should be good on that route!

I don't blame you for trying to keep it low key, I try to keep my purchases in country too

Here it's just a case of customs nabbing your parcel on the way in. Bit of luck involved it seems. I'm not sure if customs checks a present or parcel from a person as much as say a parcel from a company.

Yea it's a bit of playing the odds for sure, always a risk of throwing the money away if it gets nabbed but the chances are pretty low. At least here there's millions of parcels going through central processing and they don't bother looking after that point so it just has to get through once facility without getting grabbed. Luckily seeds don't smell so they're unlikely to get picked up by drug teams .

Hope this grow just turns out well instead of all this trouble XD

Like I've said, if ever you in Cape Town you are most welcome to collect a few cuttings. You could always place them in between some tomato seedlings if you are a bit worried as they should disguise quite nicely between them lol

Thanks bud! Considering I'm to scared to just travel a few kms across town for seedlings an 8 hour drive with some would give me a heart attack!

Wow, that quite some paranoia you sit with my friend, I've travelled with 2 plants on my back seat without a sweat lol. Hell I've rolled joints and flown to the likes of JHB and Durban with no issues, I may just have a angel on my shoulder bit hey

It just since I got the room setup, the thought of cops coming into the room and messing up my equipment has got me going paranoid now.

How's that afrikaans saying: Liewer bang Jan as dooie Jan!

Hey hopefully this just lasts til early 2018 and the concourt gives us the OK to grow and smoke at home!

Let's hope your legal reps do the right thing! Stoked for Canada to legalize :3

Spay the pollen sacks with some water and pull them off. Just don't use that seed to try again.. guaranteed probs. Like i said will send you some stuff mid dec

Yeah no one wants hermie seeds, had hoped to pollinate some females with the cheese male though to build up some better stock. And thanks again for the offer, wasn't sure if you'd remember or want to share seed with a nood who's hermie-ing his plants...

Actually have some ideas as to why they hermied, found some light leaks late into veg and the whole heat / light stress issue. My lights are super great for flowering but in hindsight maybe I should've gotten some cobs that where good for veg too. No budget for that now though.

Those cobs are perfect bud, others are getting good results with them. You can turn them way down for veg

Yup will be trying that on the next run. My cobs are all 3000k though, maybe some 4000k would be good for the veg time. My light system is modular so I could get away with just buying some 4000k cobs and swapping out a set of the other ones during veg....if I had the cashola...will be a while before I can buy more toys
