Re: Quest for 1g/w: 1k hps liquid cooled on a 6' mover in a 4x8 tent.
your room is going to be mad green in 9 weeks. I cant wait...1G/Watt here acomes Wheel!!.
I can't wait either lol, lets hope so, gonna try and be on point the whole way.
Thank you sir, and welcome.
Hi Wheel,
I've been lurking the site for a while, reading up on your previous journals and those of many others. Great work...I like the madness in your method.
The earlier discussion of using ground-coupled heat exchangers to cool the system was awesome. I'm about a year out from putting my grow-op together, and in the planning stages. I've been toying with that idea lately, as my op will be in a below-ground shipping container...I'm already going to be needing a backhoe for a few days, so I may as well dig some trenches too while I have it, neh?
Here's hoping all your clones are storm troopers!
Cheers,
~Shib
p.s. Out of curiosity, I notice you're using a dimming ballast...can your light timer take advantage of that? What I mean is, can you set your photocycle to include a fade-in and fade-out time? I know plants can suffer from light-shock...fading into and out of the light/dark cycles would probably be a lot more "natural" from the perspective of your ladies. As it is, most people seem to be transitioning from midnight to noon instantaneously. That probably induces some stress all on it's own, but it seems to be the norm for growing indoors. Any thoughts?
Thanks bro, My mind never stops running, so i just think about fun stuff like this (and other stuff) all day and all night.
I've actually dreamed about burying one of those containers, I hear you can get a used one pretty cheap. lol. just be careful you dont get flooded out in the rain lol.
passive water cooling would be so easy to do with a back hoe. FYI, heat pump ground coupling is usually done with High Density Polyethylene Pipe, and it's not all that expensive. google it, that's what I would use.
yeah, i love my dimmable, but it can't do anything fancy like that. I could do it manually every day if i wanted, but nah. . . I think mimicing the sun as much as possible is a good idea, but only within reasonably easy methods. there might be some product out there that could do that, but my dimmer is just a knob, so nothing automatic can be done.
I don't think it a big stress, but like i said, i don't think it's ever a bad idea to try to mimic nature, as much as possible.
