My First Time: AK47 & Gold Bar Kush

I switched the Cinderella Kush to 12/12 last night after the update and raised the lights a few inches. They sure do smell like they're in the mood.

I intended to give all the plants some nutes tonight before bed time. I went to Walmart tonight and checked the garden center to see what was on clearance. They had the 8 pound bags of osmocote plus for $2.50 so I picked one up. They all got about 1/4 scoop of it tonight.

I also added the second swick to the 32" tent so that the Columbian Gold will have a little more room and won't be competing with each other for water. Topping, clones, 10 gallon pots, and light training are going to happen in the next few days.

Good price on the osmocote+ - hope it works out for you.

Sounds like you are rolling along getting ready with plans, plans, plans.

It has been 6 days since I put up some pics. I peeked in on the Columbian Gold and think they are looking happy.

Then I tipped the pots and saw how many roots were showing.

I decided it was time to put them into the 10 gallon pots. I did remember to water them in right after the pics. They still need to be topped but I ran out of time tonight. Oh, I did turn on 4 more cobs tonight.

The Cinderella Kush in the flower tent seem like they are doing reasonably well. Hopefully we will see signs of sex soon.

You make me smile every time you show the SWICK. Have you ever left a post on the SWICK thread displaying your satisfaction with the technique?

Hahaha! Typing that in I suddenly realized I went from growing them on perlite to growing them in perlite.

The thread doesn't get the traffic it used to in the beginning, so a fresh post would generate more interest, and you're having great success.

Good morning, by the way. :hugs: :kisstwo:

I like making you smile Sue.:hugs::hugs::hugs::Love:

I'll try to take a minute and post over there. The swick is one of the best things I did. There's not much thought about watering the girls. Once every few days or once a week I'll add a couple gallons to the swick then forget about it.

Merry Christmas.

I had a little time today to check in on Columbian Gold while the lights are still on and am amazed with how they are growing. I think we will identify the one on the left as number 1. I didn't see anything handy to write a number 1 on, so I went with plan B and marked her with a piece of red dixie cup that I laid on the soil. It doesn't show in the first pics but will become important in a minute.

I was thinking about raising the lights since they are growing up pretty close, but decided to lower the plants instead and cut their tops off. I forgot to get a pic of number 2 by herself right after topping.

The tops got put in the bubble cloner to hopefully grow some roots. Number 1 was broken up into one large and two smaller clones, and number 2 was only one clone. Number 1 is on the left and marked with pieces of red dixie cup in the foam.

20171225_142738.jpg

This is how they looked when I closed the 32" tent a few minutes ago. I think you can see the pieces of red dixie cup on the soil of number 1 on the left. Maybe they will stay put until I mark the plants better.

20171225_142920.jpg

I finished up by giving them each a couple gallons of water.

I'll try to do an update on the other tent later tonight when the lights come on. I've been watching the Cinderella Kush and it looks like there are three males. That seems like a pretty good sign that I didn't do a good job controlling their soil and temps.

When the lights came on I was there waiting to see how the Cinderella Kush were looking. I found 3 males as suspected. It is amazing how much they mature in just one day. Those three got chopped down.

I knew the pots were too small, but this is just a test batch to see how the smoke is. I tried to lift the three pots from the males but they were stuck. Look at all those roots growing down into the swick. It is like a solid mass of perlite

Now there is just one to watch after.

20171225_230003.jpg

Next up was getting the secret ingredient (Silver Thiosulphate) out of the fridge so I could treat a lower branch. If this is successful, then I'll treat a lower branch of a Columbian Gold after they go into flower.

20171225_230613.jpg

If the plans work out, there will be an abundance of feminized seeds in a few weeks.

I opened the 32" tent tonight after not checking for a couple days and was amazed. The two Columbian Gold in 10 gallon pots are now chest high. I'll flip them as soon as I see roots in the bubble cloner.

20180102_231745.jpg

Cinderella Kush looks like she has set her buds and might be done stretching.

The STS seems to be working. No pistils on the treated branch.

Have faith. The roots will come unless you loose power to the cloner.

11 point leaves on that kush ----She's beautiful. Your garden looks great!

I really hope I never forget to plug in the cloner. At least with this one I don't have to unplug to have a look.

I hadn't even counted the leaves. 11 seems like a lot more than usual.

Thanks for the kind words. She wasn't intended to be anything beautiful, just a breeding experiment......kinda like a chick at the bar after drinking too much.

What a beautiful picture. :bravo:

Feminized Columbian Gold seeds? Did I hear that right? :battingeyelashes:

I peeked in on the Columbian Gold just now.

They grew at least another inch since last night. :thedoubletake:

Gave them each a couple gallons of water, raised the lights a few inches again, switched the timer to 12/12, and turned the set of lights on the meanwell driver up to 11. :tommy:

If they stretch much at all I'll have to do some supercropping.

I wonder if I should spray a branch on each plant with STS tonight or wait a few days.

11 !

Nigel Tufnel: The numbers all go to eleven. Look, right across the board, eleven, eleven, eleven and...

Marty DiBergi: Oh, I see. And most amps go up to ten?

Nigel Tufnel: Exactly.

Marty DiBergi: Does that mean it's louder? Is it any louder?

Nigel Tufnel: Well, it's one louder, isn't it? It's not ten. You see, most blokes, you know, will be playing at ten. You're on ten here, all the way up, all the way up, all the way up, you're on ten on your guitar. Where can you go from there? Where?

Marty DiBergi: I don't know.

Nigel Tufnel: Nowhere. Exactly. What we do is, if we need that extra push over the cliff, you know what we do?

Marty DiBergi: Put it up to eleven.

Nigel Tufnel: Eleven. Exactly. One louder.

Marty DiBergi: Why don't you just make ten louder and make ten be the top number and make that a little louder?

Nigel Tufnel: [pause] These go to eleven.

Ha!!! Good Job Rad. I knew someone would understand why I turned it up to 11.

The dialogue is perfect. Wish I would have thought to look it up. It has been a lot of years since I've watched Spinal Tap but it still makes me laugh.

It seems as though the Columbian Gold are enjoying the lights being turned up to 11. I found both of them trying to kiss the lights.

We are running out of height in the tent but I managed to get the lights 6 inches higher. The 32 inch tent is looking pretty full.

There's 9 leaves on some of the fans.

Cinderella Kush is still doing her thing and getting frosty. She is still stretching just a bit.
