My First Time: AK47 & Gold Bar Kush

I've been thinking about C99 tonight. She is a fast grower and has only had nutes a couple times so far and I forgot to water her when she was transplanted. She has lost a dozen fan leaves and has maybe that many more that are yellow. Does she maybe have a deficiency, or is she hungry, or is it just aftershock from forgetting to water? I've been tempted to give her some epsom salts and another dose of nutes, but it seems like the "less is more" thought seems to work out most of the time.

Yellowing and losing the lower fan leaves is common as a plant grows larger- and more common when it is looking for nutrients late in flower.

C99 probably wants more nutrients. I've only added epsom salts when leaves 'taco' not when they yellow.

Well...I've finally got around to visiting some of the grows that I've neglected for weeks.

Congrats on your harvest. I don't have a clue what I was doing on 6/9. It could have been that I partied without knowing about the harvest.

:party::party::party::party:

Glad you bought you a nice spoon. I've only broken one and try my best to clean it every now and then.

Clones are easier with a little experience. Kinda like growing...it takes some patience.

Good job with the plants. I'm glad you had a good support group. Radogast and Sue are some of the best.

Cheers

I went ahead and gave her some week 3 nutes last night and decided on epsom salts too. I didn't think it would hurt anything worse than what it was. The leaf damage was picking up speed pretty quickly. Tonight any undamaged leaves look perky and I'm not noticing any new damage.

Thanks Jim. I understand about not being able to keep up sometimes. It has been that way for me lately.

I hope you were partying on 6/9. I probably should have scheduled a date night instead of harvest for that night.

It's taking me a while to get used to the spoon and not draw too hard or let too much flame get in there. There were a couple times where I wasn't sure if the head rush was from coughing or smoking. :smokin2:

Rad and Sue have been the best. They have both always been there for me.

C99 seems a lot happier now and has grown. I think she's as big as she needs to be to fill this 32" tent. I'm thinking about switching her to 12/12 later today.

Columbian Gold is looking good also. I'm thinking about switching her to 12/12 today also so I'll have some room left in the 36" tent for a couple of smaller plants since the veg area is getting pretty full. I need to take some new clones of both pretty soon.

The veg tent is getting full. I'll have to move some to flower soon. Three of them are GBK male clones for pollen later. The back left is probably C99 and Columbian Gold in front of her.

Ak47 was harvested and put in the fridge 14 1/2 days ago. Humidity was down to 39% this morning and the boveda packs should be here today, so I'm planning to weigh her and get her into some jars tonight.

Looking good. Sounds like a plan.

Personally, I would take some largish clones of the tallest branches and then LST your tall branches off to the side to make an even canopy.

Speaking of even canopy, your Columbian Gold looks great. Nicely done.

I'd suggest you train these two up to be the height of your large Columbian Gold and then add them to the large Columbian Gold in flower. You could start the big one first - and she will stretch, but these two smaller girls will be fine joining her in the tent a little later when they are fully ready - the extra couple weeks will be good for a better yeild - well worth keeping the tent half full for another couple of weeks.

There you go being all cutting edge with your lights, cutting edge in your drying technique, and top shelf healthy in your growing. +reps

I can visualize that. Maybe six large clones and another week or so in veg to fill out. The large branches are already tied and pulled as low as I'm comfortable with and the super cropping only helped a little. Probably should have tied them down when I super cropped.

Thanks Rad. This one has been so easy and required very little care so far. Just a couple times adjusting the restraints got her like this.

That's a great plan and should stagger harvests every couple of weeks if it works out. C99 says 6-8 weeks in flower and Columbian Gold says 10-12 weeks. Then there will be clones ready to go to flower soon after C99 comes down. I think she has the tent about half full and I could move her to the side and fit a second swick pan in there for the other plants. I've been debating on when to start a couple more seeds to keep the flow going and not get too crowded.

Thanks so much Rad. I didn't know I was being all cutting edge. I thought I was just doing what was right and made sense based on what I've been learning here on 420.

Nice harvest

Better than I've done this year.

Autoflowers have a way of seeming to start too soon, but then providing a good payoff .

Good harvest !

Thanks Rad.

But you've had multiple harvests that produced consistently.

I was pretty disappointed when we figured out that AK47 was an auto, but it turned out pretty good. Glad you were right here every step of the way to guide me. That means a lot. :thankyou:

It's great to see that you have learned all you can from me and are moving on to learn from the experts around here.
I've tried to follow and advise a few people here. I truly appreciate someone who listens and thinks rather than reacting before they consider the situation.

I've really tried to listen to everything that you've suggested. I'm sure there's a lot more I can still learn from you.

You've been Mr. Dependable watching after me and helping me along. I appreciate that more than you know.

Now I better go take those clones we talked about. I've been distracted the last couple of days. Dinner with the ex two nights in a row.

I managed to cut 7 clones from C99 and filled up the bubble cloner plus 2 small pots that I put in the veg tent with the other C99 clone, Columbian Gold clone, and 2 GBK clones.

Then I did some super cropping and training on C99 but got a little too aggressive and split her up the middle. After taping her back together I decided she has had enough torture for tonight.

20170626_232648.jpg

Then I added a second swick tray to the big tent and moved the biggest GBK clone in with Columbian Gold.

20170626_231614.jpg

I finished up with a light dose of nutes for most of the plants and making sure the swicks had some water in them.

I often put two cutting in a single rubber puck when cloning. I doubles the capacity. Two genetically identical clones can share the same label :)

Are those the same size COB lights? How big an area are you covering with 4 lights?

I was going to double up but it seemed to be getting pretty crowded with leaves.

Those are the same size lights in the 36" x 36" tent. There's 4 of them hanging, plus two flood lights that use the same chip, plus one more in the middle running at 60 watts. About 240 watts in this tent. No reflectors on the lights, just the wide angle reflector pans on the two flood lights. All of these are 3000k except the flood lights are 6000k. I have the supplies here to make 4 more lights to replace the flood lights but haven't made a decision on color. I've been pretty happy with how the lighting is in this tent so I haven't been motivated to finish it.

I checked on the girls tonight and like what I see.

C99 is 22 inches tall and filling in nicely. I had to supercrop a couple of branches and giver her a little water before changing her timer to 12/12.

20170629_215758.jpg

Columbian Gold isn't quite as tall but is looking even and happy. I cut two clones from her, gave her some water, and changed her timer to 12/12 also. That's a GBK clone in there with her that I plan to harvest some pollen from.

20170629_220448.jpg

I doubled up some clones in the bubble cloner like Rad suggested. That's Columbian Gold on the right and the rest are C99.

20170629_221147.jpg

The veg tent is looking full still. The C99 and Columbian Gold will go in the 36" tent as soon as the new clones need to go in soil.

20170629_221202.jpg

I think I'll have to set up the fourth tent in another part of the house soon to control pollen.

I'm amazed at how much taller C99 is after a couple days in 12/12. She has grown 4 inches taller and I had to move the lights up again. I want to replace the two full spectrum chips with 3000k chips soon and remove the lenses to get a better light spread. I've been lazy about removing leaves so I better make some time for that too.

20170702_133520.jpg

20170702_133745.jpg

Columbian Gold has started her stretch also, but is a lot slower than C99. I forgot to measure how much while I had the tent open so I'll try to remember later tonight.

20170702_133856.jpg

The girls in the veg tent are happy and growing like weeds also. The lights are getting close to the top, so they will have to move in a few days.

20170702_134252.jpg

It's time for the girls in the flower tents to get their nutes soon. Hopefully I can get to it tonight but will probably have to put it off till tomorrow since I already have plans with the ex.
