My First Time: AK47 & Gold Bar Kush

I have 3 girls which are just 3 days into flower now, and am attempting to clone as well. I've not had good luck with the cloning though. I lost a batch before. Hopefully today's cuttings will take.
Have a good evening.

Try this. TOAST teaches cloning. I'm running 100% success. Couldn't be easier. I use fresh aloe vera instead of clones.

I just checked both C99 and don't see anything on the leaves or under them. I did see two small gnats flying around in the 32" tent and sprayed some kitchen safe bug killer in the tents. The active ingredient is pyrethrin so I think it should be safe enough. I might go ahead and hang a tacky strip in there just in case.

Picked up this little bat today, so I'll give it a try in a few to see how it does.

Excellent news on leaves free of creepy crawlies!

I approve of hanging sticky things for the occasional gnat - they seem to like the color yellow.

I repotted Columbian Gold and the two clones last night after taking a couple hits. I even took pics but somehow forgot to do anything with them. Lol. I did remember to water them after transplanting this time.

Remembering is good, but don't stress yourself about the opposite :)

I think C99 is critter free. The spray took care of the gnats. Now I just need to figure out when she will be ready to flower. No more leaf damage is happening but there are a few sad ones I should probably remove.

Columbian Gold is just growing like she should, although much slower than C99. She probably needs some more training soon. She got a big pot a couple nights ago so I hope to see some huge growth soon.

There are still three GBK clones in the veg tent at the corners. In the center left is the Columbian Gold clone and center right is C99....I think. I mixed them up and will have a better idea of which is which after they grow some more. They did get bigger pots a couple nights ago.

She's taller than AK was and maybe close to the height that GBK was.

That's what I thought. She seems a little less robust than GBK was, but she also looks fully vegged.

I'd either make a few little adjustments to even out the canopy, pick a height to flip her into flower (add 3"), or flip her into flower. It's a pretty close call between the three options :)

If I had to choose, I would probably supercrop the short, thin branches coming up from the horizontal main branches to see if I could add a little bulk/strength/spread to those branches.

As I said, it's a close call, but about time to make it :)

I was thinking that she needed to thicken her branches some before flowering. I've also been looking at those short thin branches coming up from the main horizontal branches and thinking about tying them down close to horizontal. I'll have to review supercropping to make sure I don't do it wrong.

I thought about some more fan in there and letting her have a couple of really windy days.

I was tempted to flip her to flower but I'm sure the branches aren't quite strong enough yet and didn't want to tie her to the ceiling.

I was also looking for where to put the smaller plants later. They might end up in the other tent if Columbian Gold doesn't get a lot bigger soon.

This is a great time to try supercropping, if you are waiting to go into flower and have some time to veg after a mistake - it's a much better time to learn and make supercropping mistakes and than when the girl is already in flower.

You could also just do the slight crush of the stem walls that allows the supercrop bend, but then not make the bend. The crush and repair of a stem will yield a stronger (if more crooked) stem.

I just came out of the tent when I heard the email sound and came straight here. I was in there tying the small branches so they will lay flat in the same plane as the main flat one. I'll pinch them to help things along. I think if she doubles in height during flower then I will have to flip in the next few days.

Columbian Gold... *sigh* You sure have good taste. :kisstwo: One of these days I'll get a seed and plant it. Been a loooong time.

Still standing tall and green after 3 days

It really is amazing how fresh and happy they stay in those bags, isn't it RedHector? I'm always pleasantly surprised when I open them to check. I find they don't suffer any when I take them out. I don't have to pamper them beyond keeping them the same distance from the light for the first day after I pot them up. I don't cut leaves up, and I don't use any more than aloe vera and rooting hormone.

I'm glad we could help. I believe in the technique, and I can't seem to stay quiet about it. :cheesygrinsmiley: :green_heart:

Thanks Sue. :kisstwo: It was one that called out to me when I ordered seeds. It was pretty inexpensive for a 10 pack.

Inexpensive is a relative term. All of my funds end up going to oil production equipment and kit supplies. I keep expanding my patient load and forcing myself to work harder. I can't stand by while someone I care about is in pain, but I need to remember I can't grow for everyone here.

The Columbian Gold was my all-time favorite buzz. You tend to chase those things. Lol! Some day I'll get her done. I have a multitude of other seeds either here or on their way to me that I'm committed to growing out, so it'd have to wait anyway. I'll enjoy watching you and live vicariously. When you do the smoke report I'll be salivating.
