Let's grow some Weed!

I only use Fox Farms nutes anymore..
The Miracle grow caused nutrient burns (Yellowing at the edge of the tips) with my plants.
My plants are much healthier since I made the switch.

cool i just seen the pic and wonder why if you were using both cuz fox farms is pretty damn good by its self

I think I will give that a shot I have been using Guanos and Bud Candy and I see the yelowing>>>Great info peeps

Ok bad news everyone...
I am really devastated...

Last week I over fertilized my 5 foot 1st. grow Sativa and she dropped dead on me...
I tried to flush her out with water when I realized what I had done but it was too late...
I was so depressed from all of this I have hardly posted here in the last week....
It has been hard going into the grow room and see her there dead with her now brittle leaves.

It has been a long and very enjoyable experience having her since she broke ground on March 31st. She was the first plant that we had success harvesting buds from and was on her second trip around flowering with at least 100+ small buds when she passed away.

I guess we become better growers from our mistakes but I never realized how emotionally attached my wife and I had become of our little plant...

Last night and tonight as I started cutting the numerous small buds off of her I actually had tears to my eyes....

It's been a tough few days but it's time to pick up the new pieces and work on a better replacement grow....

I have one clone of her that I am going to try to transplant into soil and hopefully she will make it...

My other large plant the Indica is doing well and is getting bigger with more beautiful colas of flowers and currently will become the focus of my efforts.

RIP...

hang on joe, time is the healer.......we all "live and learn".what went wrong? how much was too much? its easy to become involved it living things.count your blessings though,it could always be worse....the bottom line is we are all in the "vertical club" and thats what counts....God Bless Ya Joe,todd:amen:

Thanks so much everyone for the support it was a big blow us.... Yes, The GROW must go on!

I believe that sometimes things happen for a reason and perhaps this will leap us forward onto better and bigger grows.

I am feeling a little better about it all...

I diverted all the light onto my Indica she seems happy about that...

well look on the bright side now you have a good reason to pick a new strain, and you have the joy of grow a great new monster of a mother

I know how you feel I felt the same about my first and after struggling with all her problems I had to, do the deed.
Hopefully her clone will do well and it will be like having her reborn again.

Thats sucks man When I broke the news to the wife about my three babies all being boys... she cried on the bed and was very upset so I feel your pain bet hey you got another bun in the oven and it will love the light...

The show must grow on!

That's the spirit my friend. When the going gets tough, the tough get growing! :) We have two Strawberry Blues that shot skyward at an amazing rate. But now they are showing yellow leafs. Maybe they just grew too fast! Hang in there bro. More adventures to come!

I definitely need to expand my grow so that this won't happen again. We can't be dependent on the output of one or two plants. We need to grow 1 or 2 backups.

Hey Joe sorry to hear about yer baby! Really sux my friend. I am happy that you have a clone. In that respect, of course, she isn't dead at all. Very cool if you ask me. Well, I am glad to read you will be growing bigger and better after this! Nothing can keep a good man down. Go JOE!

L8ER friend.

Maybe you should consider sea of green..

Ben,
Thanks so much for stopping by.. Rep+
Funny thing I never heard that term until now...
I had to look it up...

We grow for the fun of it... It really is only for my wife and I (and we give any excess away to friends) and we really enjoy going downstairs and visiting the "girls" and giving them individual care. We really are looking for Quality and not Quantity. If our lovely state would ever pass the "Medical Marijuana" laws then we would possibly consider growing on a larger scale to supply dispensaries provided we got the legal documentation to do so. In no way shape or form would we consider selling any product unless we were legally allowed to do so. This whole growing project of ours just makes us feel younger and allows us to get access to some weed. At our age sourcing weed is just about impossible on the street.

Sea of Green (SOG) Growing Guide
Method Of Growing Marijuana

Is the theory of harvesting lots of small plants, matured early to get the fastest production of buds available. Instead of growing a few plants for a longer period of time, in the same space many smaller plants are grown that mature faster and in less time. Thus, less time is required between crops. This is important to you when the electricity bill comes each month. One crop can be started while another is maturing, and a continuous harvest, year round can be maintained. 4 plants per square foot will be a good start for seedlings. 1 plant per square foot will allow plenty of room for each plant to grow a large top cola, but will not allow for much bottom branching. This is OK since indoors, these bottom branches are always shaded anyway, and will not grow very well unless given additional light and space. The indoor grower quickly realizes that plants that are too tall do not produce enough at the bottom to make the extra growing time used worth while. An exception to this rule would be if it is intended the plants are to go outside at some point, and it is expected that the light/shading issue will not be a factor at that point.
