First Grow Indica Under CFLs 2012

hows it going, the picture with the yellow on the leaf looks like its a nute problem, to much nute so back off slightly and you should have no more yellow spots appear, the spots wont go they will stay their but they wont get any worse unless the nutes keep going to much.

you know your guessing which is male and female, well your probably right, if all the plants are from the same batch of seed and all from the same mother and father then the chances are the taller more spindley plants are male and the shorter is fem, the males usually show sex sooner anyway i think, mine never my females showed sex sooner but they was all different strains so cant really compare by that, out of my 3 plants i put into flower i got 2 females and 1 hermie so removed that one and will grow it out for seeds, now my other 2 are just starting to form buds at the ends of branches so cant wait till it moves along a bit further, i got loads of white hairs all over the place,

Did you go by preflowers or did you know when you turned the lights 12/12?, Im seeing female preflowers way before the male preflower, which was weird to see cause I was under the influance males showed first too. Do you think judging by preflowers is accurate? Ill get some pictures of the female preflowers Im seeing. With the food I was thinking the same thing, but I lay off the food and my plants start to turn purple up the stem and leafs stems, I feed them and it goes away. maybe its the MG not sure. thanks again donpaul.p

Hello growrook,

Welcome to 420. I am new myself. It looks like you have a good setup and your plants are great. Are you still using MG? How is the CO2 water doing I have seen you mention it any more? Just curios? I noticed in one of the pics you have baking soda, are you applying it as well?

I really like the hoods. I should have thought more about things before I just jumped into growing indoors. But taking notes for my next grow. If I'm not mistaken the Purp's strain have the purple on the leaves and some stems. I know mine (Berry Bomb) show purple on the leaves and stems.

Any way hope you enjoy your stay and will be hoping you have a good yield.

:Namaste:

them babies are coming right along , .this is the hail that we had here last weekend ,some were tennis ball size, most were bigger than grade A large Eggs..lots of damage to my stuff

Wow that sucks, I had the same thing happen here 3yrs ago from hail, Lots of car and roof repairs that year, I think anyone who knew how to roof started there own business. Had a brother inlaw with a roofing company who made a ton in the next 3 years after the hail. My wifes car got a new paint job from it, I wasnt as lucky they wrote my junker off. hope you didnt have none of your plants outside yet.

no plants outside , at least smokable plants:cheer: ,,but my 2 year old truck , and my wife's brand new jeep grand cherokee are both beat to hell , at least 80 big dents on both.. my house roof ,all the gutters ,have to be replaced ,,,even my mail box is flattened ,,it was unbelievably loud.. but all is good..:allgood:..got plants to harvest..

does insurance cover you for events like that then, bet it costs them millions each year in repair costs
yes I'm sure it costs them 100's of millions ,.. But when you look at the amount of money insurance companies take in every day, world wide. The little dot on the map where the hail fell , is just a bug fart, to companies like state farm. my damage is close to $25,000.00. and all I want is my stuff fixed , it's just gonna be a hassle trying to get everything done , there's only so many body shops, and licensed roofers..people are going to living with tarps on their roofs all summer ,waiting on shingles and contractors P.S. can ya tell i'm high ??? :peace:

Sorry if Im being to noses but you from canada southern ontario? Just wondering cause I got family members in the roofing business. Who wouldn t mind getting some work. lots of money in insurance claim jobs.

Time for some new pictures, feeding 1/2 MG every 2 waterings. More LSTing LOOKING GOOD! weather is staying above 55 at night, all most time to plant outside.

sorry long way from ya , southern Illinois , my (hail flattened ) mail box is full of contractors adds everyday ,I've never heard of any of them. There coming out of the wood work. but they cant work here without a state license . and this is a union area , so there might be busted heads along the way .I have a close friend in the business .. thanks for the inquire,:passitleft: :ciao:

looking good mate, loving the lst work, is the plant fem or unkown,

Im going by pre flowers, there all over my plants now. So Im hoping its female I know preflowers are not 100% right but there is a big difference in the male and female preflowers on my plants so i hope im right. I tired to take a pic of them but I can get that close with my camera and keep it clear. its getting nice outside so i think im gonna flower a few and see what I get. Maybe next grew I get a HID fixture to flower, but for now CFLs are doing good.

Well Im moving on up in the wonderful grow world, I was at a family members tonight sitting in his garage when I noticed a MH light. So I asked him about it and he said take. I said you dont got to tell me twice! sO I have a 400 watt mh sun master bulb. Now Im having troubles falling to sleep to excited to redo with grow room in the morning. I feel like a kid the night before vacation.:thumb:

Next step is some of that BPN I keep reading about.

wow Christmas in may,,lucky you , that light will be fun to play with ,, does he know how old the bulb is ? . 400's aren't to bad on price..:nomo:

like sfw88 said, check how old the bulb is as it might need replacing, also another problem with ballast type lights is that over time the ballast wares as well and starts using more electric, i dont think it has any affect on the bulb but it takes the running costs up slightly, but the bulb should be replaced after so many hours, so if its more than 12 to 16months old then id replace it with a new bulb to get the most from the light, you will benefit more from a new bulb than risking using the old.

also get on the bpn train, when i wasnt using it my plants where growing very slow indeed, since giving my plants the 1st feed i noticed massive growth withing 48 hours and the plants are now exploding and growing like crazy, mine are in flower now and bpn has really made a huge difference, im saving up for my next batch as it cost a lot to get it to where i live, but i was given the nutes by another member who paid for them so i was very lucky to get my hands on bpn in my part of the world, i recon i must be the very first person in my country to try bpn and its all thanks to teSmp and corey for his part, so im saving up now, i should be ok for 2 or 3 grows with that i have got but im saving for when i do need it, i can by stuff off the shelf and was using baby bio but it wasnt right for these plants, it seemed to be missing something the plants needed, as soon as i switched the leaves and plants looked a lot healthier and really started growing, now my plants are the best they have ever been, so you wont be making any mistakes using bpn, when you do get it though dont use the feeding guide printed on the bottles instead use the guide on bpn site,

Hey glad your still fallowing my grow and I appreciate all your comments:high-five: When you say 12 to 16 months replace bulb does that mean in use for 12 to 18 months. The bulb has was used for one grow then sat fir 3 years. Any ideas on a diy reflector. The bulb must be placed vertical. It says BU on the bulb I guest it means it can be hung horizoncal.
