That Watermelon Zkittlez from Barneys is a beast. (Relative to my grows of course )

Shes already hit the bottom of the new pot and her secondaries are strong and vigorous. Trying to take over that tent and push the Auto out of the picture.

Every time I flatten her she pulls the hooks with her mains in a matter of hours and a few secondaries are doing the same.

The auto might have to sacrifice her share of the light as Im wanting to put the WZ in her final pot and let her settle in readiness for flipping.

Wanting her to be like her auto equivalent, I really liked the (auto, Adalita) WZ buzz.

This BB is still stretching. Either that or the lights dropping.....might need a supercrop for her tallest parts.

Anyway heres pics. You can see her hogging the vertical and horizontal

I wonder if those buckets still bother @Trala


Veg girls

Tent 1 Barneys is thriving.

Look that auto isnt going to break any records, but shes definitely decided to try growing after a shaky slow start.

Spray and tents cleaned tomorrow. Need to tidy up.

I tell you this growing has its ups and downs.

Today is a day of bad news.

No doubt during this heatwave the girls are stressed and its perfect for spider mites.

Theyve definitely taken hold in the Zkittlez. At first I thought trim her back & spray, but the more that I looked, the worse it was.

I could have got her to the line.

Really though by letting them run Im just increasing my chances of not solving this problem.

The low RH high heat just lets them thrive. Ive really fucking tried. They keep winning though.

Thankfully they arent in my veg girls, but really its only a matter of time.

So Zkittlez is gone, cut out. Im contemplating the white Widow too. Or shifting the BB and WW off to finish outdoors.

So fucking depressing. I want to just throw everything out and start over or burn it all. Its really that bad. So over these mites.

With 3 plants in a row now where the mites population has exploded, its getting to the point its a threat to perpetual growing.

The worst part, have only myself to blame. So angry its come to this.

Its time for big changes. I need to adjust to the reality of the issue. My approach so far just isnt cutting it.

I've used a few things on mites, Neem oil, Rosemary oil, insecticidal soap etc. Nothing seems completely good. But the last couple of grows I have tried a homemade mix that @Skottelgoed Spons told me about.

2-3 garlic cloves + half an onion + 1 litre water, all blended and filtered if necessary, + a few drops of liquid soap, then sprayed on the affected plants.

I don't know why it doesn't seem to be a popular approach, but the 2 times I used it, it really seemed to banish the mites great. I am planning on doing a preemptive spray with it in the coming weeks. I have sprayed during flower too and I was not aware of any problems from it, I presume as long as it's all done a couple of weeks before harvest it should be fine I'd think. Anyway, I thought it worked great, the mites hated it, and all items are found in the kitchen.

Bottom line. If that’s the worst thing that happens today, it’s still a good day. You have seeds of promise, tents, lights and new grow experiences to draw on.

Not that this is about me, while making it about me lol, me and mites, I just kept repeating the same mistakes until I learned the lesson. Took me two years. You’ve come at the end of my Armageddon Rid Of Mites for Good. And even now I know it could go tits up anytime.

It’s just part of the trials and tribulations of Australian growing. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. I used to resent ole mate and his overinflated weed prices. Now I see the work that goes into an ounce, it’s worth every cent.

Dry your tears. Dust off and redo.

Heat is just making a mess of things.

Im ready to start flipping the WZ , I keep thinking its time, so this week Ill reset the timer.

Then the other two Zkittlez will follow.

Im ready to start finishing these starters up.

BB clone has finally started to come good like 3 weeks later lolling. Ive made such a mess of her first run.

Any how heres pics.

The Auto seemed to start then stop flowering, maybe a deeper pot convinced her to keep vegging?

After such a poor start shes making up for lost time.

Only 2 more days and the weather evens out a bit. Both the plants and me need a break from it. Cant wait.

Oh and just to add I did trim and bag the Zkittlez for cure. Probably a waste of time though I thought it couldn't hurt to dry and send it off for edibles.

Deeve it’s all a learning process.

I’ve been at it for two years and I fuck flower more times than not.

I love growing. Readjusting, reevaluating, the learning and planning on how I will try and improve my next run. And best part, every grow teaches me something.

You will soon be in the cooler months, when the mites sleep.

Your plants are so healthy and happy. Even the ones in buckets (I say this as clutch my pearls).

Got pretty much everything I need for basic hydro today. Want to be prepared when Im ready to tackle that challenge.

Last day today of full on heat, storm has rolled in. Pretty Full on, as Summer storms can be, big big light show.

Time to get on my game with the odds back in my favour a little.

A week can be a long time in a grow.

Flipped the Watermelon Zkittlez yesterday. So 2 flower tents, one veg.

Auto is looking good, hit the bottom of the pot. Hoping for a good result applying what I learnt last time into this go.

Sprayed again. WW has started leaning her colas which is nice. Still some foxtail going on despite raising light.

BB clone is ready to become a proper seedling and get an uppot. Would love a second try, her mother is pretty and smells good, just too tall and sparse.

Continuing to PH my water. Feels like its making a difference. Need a couple more weeks to be sure.

Been a busy day.

Heres a couple from this morning

Little Auto looking perky!

And heres the BB finally getting feet.

Stripped all the lowers from WW.

Removed all yellow and light burn from the entire grow.

Wait and see if its nutrients or PH causing the problem.

Feed for everyone tomorrow. Pushing them, can catch the tip burn in spots.

Hi Deev, I've been watching your struggles with the mites. I'm sure you did this but did you wash the tent out with bleach and then use a fumigant? I see others having success doing this. Did you try the Ausie version of Safers yet? Anyway, I hope you get on top of it. It's just horrible to have mites... touch wood I haven't had any yet! I ammy be missing some infor from your journal so disrgatd if you have alreay been through this. Keeep smiling and keep growingg

So everyone got fed and watered if they needed it or not.

Defol went to eradication of any spidermite activity on all plants.

Looks like the Zkittlez clone was hosting them in the veg tent.

Should go a long way to slowing them down.

Zkittlez is rounding the corner into the last straight. Other than mites and foxtails shes looking good.

Slow steady swell while she begins her march to death. Cant touch her for smell, or handle her without stickiness.

For the first true tent run girl Im happy.

BB has all sorts of problems. Her height for one. This mismatch of plant size is not something I counted on or want.

Flip girls. Heres where my heart is right now. Both in stretch.

Low wide and good tight nodes. If I fuck these up from here Ill be mad. They go in to flower just ticking all the boxes.

The Zkittlez clone at back is just all sorts of depressed.

I have no idea when to flip these, might even go outdoors. Couple weeks to decide.

February marks the change. I have till then to decide. Cant wait to share the changes with you guys.
