Bassman's Master Kush - Blue Planet Nutes - Grow Stealth LED Grow #3

It seems to me this grow is going very well. Smooth sailing for ya.

Scary isn't it? :high-five:

My biggest issue right now is which way to bend some of the taller stretching branches. It almost seems where ever I go they may be crowding another spot. But I try to do my best.

5 days into flower today. I took 3 big fan leafs out and bent two of the tallest top stretchers. Picture one shows not only a bend but when it's ok to pluck a leaf in stretch.
RED is the bend
Black is the remaining fan stalk after plucking.
Blue is the corresponding node with full leaf development.

It's only when a fan leaf has this node development and will get good light that I pull a fan during stretch. Otherwise, this fan would be feeding that node to get to this point of development. Once it's here, it really doesnt need the fan, so I can remove it in stretch. I don't want to do a whole ton of this during stretch. Doing too much would hinder the actual stretch and slow it down dramatically. After the stretch I'll pluck the hell out of these girls and hopefully find more ways to bend.

It sure looks good so far though. Damn tent is nearly full wall to wall and it's only four plants!

Looking good bass.
I got 2 days until plucking for 1 plant and then it's going to be Edward Scissor hands. I did pull a couple sucker branches, I couldn't help myself.
Sticking with my plan, god it's killing me.

ya man, yours is looking good too.

Hey, don't go bonkers pulling leaves from actual budsite locations. I think that's where I hurt my yield last grow. I gotta recheck on this, but I think I'm right.

No I'll take it easy. I hurt my 1st two plants in flowering. mater of fact I'm going to start flushing the one plant that had the funny growth i asked ya about, it's ending prematurely. guna flush 40-45days after FL

Stop by see some new pics

Thanks YD!

Yea that calcium def is long gone now and they're doing pretty good.:high-five: I'm with ya on can't wait to see flowers buddy.

Mine isn't LST by definition AK1.

I'm getting ready to go to work atm. Shoot me a pm and maybe I can chat ya through what I do and what I learned about bending later on.

Bassman, In my opinion and observations, you are right on with letting the bud/node sight develop before pulling the corresponding fan. Once it's developed to some maturity, it doesn't seem to need the fan. But, if you pull the fan too early, it gets stunted. I just wanted to chime in that I've observed this behavior as well, and now only pull the fan if there is good corresponding development. Great observation - way to explain and share that.

With any grow, LED or HID, a well-managed even canopy is a major trick to increasing yield - and for the second tier indoors, proper defoliation to let in more light will be paramount. I agree at this point wait for the stretch and then pluck the beeeatch. Nice job!

Thanks a bunch X! Getting confirmation from a grower such as yourself gives me confidence. Thanks.

Such as myself? Oh, you mean a broken down, gimp! lol

On a more serious note, thank you. I'm still learning on a pretty basic level most of the time. I appreciate how determined you are to learn and improve your grows each round - I feel the same way. I think the best thing I've done to accelerate my learning is creating the small veg space and maintaining some moms. I have them under flouros and 24/7 lighting schedule, so I can play with them whenever I want. I started taking clones and more clones just to play with. Clip them, shape them, different containers, water one more, one less... see what happens, etc., etc. It's really helped (but it's been a lot more work with all the different things going on).

For sure. I like your method of learning. I need to stay under a rather low plant count, and as such, I get to just jump in and do it, learn as I go. With lots of research of course and asking questions from gimps like you. :high-five:

Yea but what is that "point" where it's ok to cut of that fan leaf?

My understanding of it is it's ok to pull when the corresponding node has fully developed leaves. They dont have to be big. A secondary gauge is the node as some stem. Even 1/8" is enough. I'll try to go do some pics now.

18 days 12/12 and I am just amazed and lol every time I look in there. I hope I can find enough ways to bend when stretch is over!

Here this should help AK1.

Pic #1 & #2 are nodes ok to pull the big fan.
Pic #3 is wider view of #2

Pic #4 is not ready to pull the fan from.

Pic #5 is just mind blowing how stuffed it is in 4'x4' tent with only 4 plants and 3-4 days till day 21.

I told you not to come here!

I think mine are 6" netpots in there. And that's fine. Just dont go 3.75" imo. Unless you're growing small plants.

I have no ph probs. I use ro water, Blue Planet Nutrients, I adjust here and there as needed, but no big deal.

Most important thing I think is water temps! SUB 68. Keeps the bad shit from growing. The rest is easy.

Oh BigIrish, they are about 23-26" tall in there. Stretch ending in 3-5 days.
