Update: Heading Into the Final 420 Stretch for 2020
Let me start by noting that in future I hope to run the schedule so as to
not be flowering indoors at this time of year. Conditions of the weather have been posing a significant challenge to environmental management. It was in the range of 35% a while back, for a while and mostly during veg, and full humidification only raised that 10-15% really. Then, this last week+ has been in the 80-90% range And all my dehumidifcation powers can only get the lights-off RH in the flower tent down to the low 60s at best. Lights-on is ok. Just riding it, and keeping the fans going. Should be fine!
Continuing on, things are rolling very nicely into the home stretch for this year. Perpetually I will nearly always plan to transition to outside about now - with some down time inbetween. This year has been protracted though, mostly because I needed to build up stocks after the summer hit to the stores. I’m nearly there and this CBD run will settle the med supplies for a bit.
So, the plants!
Candida CD-1 was transplanted into a 7gal a week or so ago, after 50days above soil.
Not as much roots as I aim for but still plentiful.
Ties were reinstated loosely.
Here we are a week later settling in and filling out well.
One of the branches is a triploid branch (3 shoots at the nodes) - you can kind of tell, it’s middle-right in this next pic and has multiple smaller tops compared to the other single ones.
The leaves are very slender and delicate - and very pale at the centre as it pushes out new growth. Good colour comes in pretty soon after though so I’m not too concerned about the paleness.
Pistil stigmas are showing at the nodes/pre-flowers, nothing in the tips yet.
Nepal Jam x Kali China was transplanted and flipped the same day, at 23days young. Here’s the little rootball...
And here is 4 days later (I neglected to get a pic on the day)
And then another 4 days after that - which was a couple of days ago
You following all these days folks? All the pics are labelled, JIC
There’s lots of leaf tucking and tying going on and the lowers are reaching up more and more.
There’s more light getting to the lowers than it looks like from this SaugaView®
Also no pistil stigmas yet - not even at the nodes so far. It was flipped before it would have reached maturity so will be only just reaching that now I think (it’s variable but usually btw 3-6weeks I think, for most strains).
Watching the way it’s growing and the size pot I have it in (a 14L AutoPot) I can see that in future I could easily be topping it very close to transplantIng and flipping after a 3- week veg. I nearly did it this time and chickened out. Next time I’ll know. I’m curious to see how it finishes out in this pot.
The
CBD#1 is finished setting flowers and is looking very lovely. Probably needs some tidyup down low, but - it’ll happen when I can be arsed to do it, which may never come...
This one is a
very sturdy plant with strong stems all over. Like, super strong.
Back on transplant day, which was October 17 and was also a lovely new moon in Scorpio, I also dropped a new seed to fill the last corner of the tent. Say hello to a new
Early Miss, an 8-week auto that I grew earlier in the year and like a lot! So I’ll have a little more please
It came up in 2.5 days.
It’s now 8 days old and residing in the small Growbox under the VP LED in there. I currently have it at 20w or a little under, the EM is alone in the box and positioned directly under the middle of the light. Still looks like it’s leaning away, right? It’s not over stretching so it‘s definitely getting enough I think. SO, still figuring it out
It’s an experiment regarding the small pot and transplanting an auto as well, I haven’t tried that before. I’ll transplant when it’s a couple of weeks old.
That’s where things in indoor Eden are up to as of a couple of days ago. I snapped this group shot of the flower tent this morning so here’s how things are looking today...
Some nice CBD variety on the way
It’s spring here, so the critter activity is ramping up and lots of interactions happen. This one was captured, luckily, and features a couple of locals you’ve all seen before. It was a long stand-off and the turtle eventually won, suggesting that patience and presence can out-do size - there’s gotta be a parable in there somewhere...
