1st Time Grower Box Build - 1st Clones And New Grow - Maui Wowie - GDP - LA Kush

I'll adjust the watering schedule so I water them the morning of the first day of class. That way, I won't have to water them till I get home. My wife can check on them every day. I'll only be gone 2 1/2 days.

LOL ..... that's messed up. ...... LOL.

Flowering DAY 2

So,

After reading several posts about flowering, lollipoping and after talking to Geturgrowon and Homemedgrower, I decided to go downstairs and do a proper lollipopping. I was suprised when I opened the door. The LA Kush had grown several inches while it was in the dark. Most of her main colas were sticking way up past the screen. The other two also did well. But, nowhere near as much as the LA Kush. This kind of suprised me since it's the smallest of the three and it's also indica. But, then I remembered that I didn't do much pruning when I first started to pluck my undergrowth. So, it didn't have the same amount of stress the other two got. Since, I did more pruning on them. So, this was probably a factor. Interesting info to tuck away for future use.

So, here's what they looked like several days ago before I decided to touch any undergrowth ..................

Here's what they looked like three days ago. Right before I put them into the dark for 36 hours ...............

And here's what they look like today ...... the morning after thier dark period. It's the second day of flower. So, I figured if I'm going to lollipop them, I really need to do it now .................

I did end up with a bunch of clones ..... hated to throw any away. I'll just keep the best of the bunch and probably either give the rest of the clones to another patient ...... or, take them to a collective and trade them for some goodies. Speaking of clones. I decided to throw away all the first clones I took. They sat too long in the bubble cloner and the stems were all brown and basically rotting off. Most of the leaves were turning brown. So, tossed them all. Even if they did start to grow at some point. The amount of stress they went through will probably just make them really problematic. So, I replaced all the old clones in the bubble cloner with new cuttings. Hopefully, since I now have it dailed in, they will all root in a reasonable amount of time.

Here's what the girls look like above the screen ....................

Thanks .....

I was going to veg longer. But, these things are growing faster and faster. And they aren't even flowering yet. I'm afraid if I wait too long, they'll get out of control.

I'm thinking about just letting them grow naturally on the next go around. No scrog screen .... no defoliation. And, see how they do on thier own with little or no modificaitons on my part.

Lookin good Mutt,
I'm subbed to see how things turn out!.

Just gotta go back and catch up a bit..

you have done well On the bikinini wax I like it:)

you can bearly see down under

Thanks ...... now if my BPN would just arrive on the big brown truck .... LOL. Is that all stretch above the screen? Or did you let them veg up for a while before flipping? How long they been flowering?

From this point on, they are on 12/12. How long does it usually take (on average) to start seeing flowers begin?? I gave them 36 hours of dark before flipping.

4or 5 days

I did the 36 hours of dark before flip too, and I saw signs in 4 days..
Great way to send them into adulthood IMO. Plus if you were running a GLR schedule leading up to flip, they'll be even more ready to spurt flowers.

But I'd know that if I actually read the rest of your journal.
sorry, doing that after lunch..

Nah .... I just ran them 18/6 .... then did 36 hours dark and flipped em.

You've probably already heard about it, or if not if not and you're interested in learning about the Gas Lantern Routine here's a link.
Posted by Twelve12 written by Daniel Boughen. great read..
A lot of people on here have switched to GLR schedule, and are having great results, including myself..
Awesome way to grow IMO, while saving money on hydro.

Hey Mutt sorry havent been along here last couple days, glad all is well and healthy :thumb:

Im really happy to hear that vick is i am currently doing GLR and have been looking into the pros & cons of Darkness before flipping.

Thanks Popcorn.
Forgot to mention I'm also using the diminishing light schedule as well.
I'll try and find the post that explained it and post up here if you want..

Nevermind it's at the bottom of Twelve12's post on GLR:

"The Diminishing Lighting Schedule"

"The diminishing fall schedule begins with an evenly halved light schedule, using 12 hours for the first two weeks to trigger the plant into bloom, and then further reducing the lighting for increasing darkness time by one half hour every week.

The final week of flowering will provide the plants with a mere nine hours of light, with 15 hours of darkness, forcing a resulting final explosive hormonal buildup. This sends the plant into blooming overdrive and produces resin far beyond the normal plant’s limits.
When the Gas Lantern Routine and Diminishing Light Schedule are used together, they create healthier, more naturally robust plants. These important and historical botanical techniques are soon going to become very important techniques in the coming years as medicinal cannabis research continues to advance. When viewed from cost of production, organics, and medicinal needs, the methods currently being promoted can be seen counter to the interests of growing healthy plants. Understanding your plants is the best way to grow the best medicine, and looking for solutions to growing problems by observing nature always provides the right answers. And the link to the test, and results."
