1st Time Grower Box Build - 1st Clones And New Grow - Maui Wowie - GDP - LA Kush

Congrats bud:thumb: Hows the new clones going or did you trade them for other goodies?:cheesygrinsmiley:

The clones I originally took are all dead and gone except 2. They were all turning brown and weren't doing anything. So, I am only 2 for 7 with my clones. At least not a total failure. One of them had roots, so I kept it. The other clone I kep was Mini Me. I have Mini Me potted in dirt and is growing well (although still tiny as hell).

The rest of the new clones are doing fantastic. They are all still green. No wilting at all from the ones in the bubble cloner and the ones in the rapid rooters. I have then all under humidity domes and they look really really healthy. I did tear open one of the rapid rooters to see if there were any roots in there. Nothing but a couple little bumps. But, that's a good sign.

Never thought about the tops. I do have some twist tie on a roll. I may just go down and do that. I saw some pics of other people putting that on there. But, never understood why.

Welp now ya know mate:cheesygrinsmiley: besides that most cuttings you take the stem might not be thick enough to occupy the the whole in the rooters so a twisty will keep the rooter tight around the thinner stems

I should be downstairs watering my ladies this morning. But, i am holding off till the FEDEX truck gets here. I should be getting my BPN 7 part kit today. And, I want to water them with thier new nutes today. So, I'll hold off going downstairs. Which means, you'll have to wait for pics till later this evening.

I tried tieing off a couple of the rapid rooters. But, I can't find my twist tie and I tried to use wire. It just wasn't working out. Plus, I like to flip the rootes over and use them upsidedown. I find that they won't stand up on thier own if you leave the flat side pointing up. But, if you flip them over, they stand up nicely on their own (even with a clone it them) and if you use something like an icepick to poke a new hole, it hugs the stem nicely. I don't flip all of them over. So, some did get put into the bigger holes. But, I push them down pretty far.

I ordered a digital USB microscope on the 1st. It showed up today in the mail. I got it on amazon for 20 bucks. I was sceptical at first (because it was so cheap). But, after I plugged it in and saw the quality of photo it provides, I was really pumped. So, I went to my stash and grabbed a NUG of some Grape Ape that I have been smokin. Anyway. I was suprised by the quality of the pic. I can't wait to use it to judge the ripeness of my own grow (when I get that far). Here's what my (collective bought) Grape Ape looks like ..............

So, now when someone asks you "What the hell has Mutt been smoking???" you can simply show them a pic ...... LOL.

subd mate, came from one of your comments in another journal.

im also a use of the glr schedule it works well, its basically just 12-12 from start to finish but during veg you give it one hour of light in the middle of the 12 hours of dark, so what you can do is use a hps to go 12-12 then for the one hour of light you can use a couple of cfls, as long as it gets the hour of light it wont start to flower.

plus glr makes the plants show sex sooner, they grow a whole lot quicker due to the plants thinking their going to flower, but by giving them the hour of light in the 12 hours of dark you trick the plant into staying in veg, so you get the rapid growth that you normally get when you flip the lights to 12-12, but with glr you get this rapid growth in veg, then when you remove the hour of light from the 12 hours of dark to start flower, they then start to flower pretty much strait away.

the plants hormones are excited under glr so when they start to flower they go crazy, this is why its best to use the deminishing light schedule for flower, i have not tried this for flower yet, but will be giving it a try with my next grow

That's the first time it's been explained .... and was actually easy to understand. Next go around, if I decide to try this, I'll deffinitely get with you first and get my ducks in a row.

Wait explain the one hour light schedule for me please? Your saying give them 1 hour of light in the middle of the the 12/12 schedule? Is this only for one day or????

every day, 7 days a week..

Flowering ..... Day 5

Unfortunately, the BPN didn't show up today. The tracking thingie has it arriving tomorrow. So, didn't really have anything to do today except looking in on the ladies. So, I guess I'll water them tomorrow instead. I want to wait for the BPN.

My girls really do look good. They are starting to stretch now and are growing like crazy. I still have a little room in my screen so I will continue to Scrog them as needed .... but, since I still have so much vertical room in my grow box, I'm not going to go overboard with the Scrog.

Not much else to tell.

I did buy one of these things.

LaCross Alerts Wireless Monitor System

It'll arrive on Wednesday. The main reason I bought this was because I've had my fan turned down really low. If I get my fan too low, it will stop running. Since this has happened twice and I happened to notice in time. But my temps did start to get high enough to worry. This thing will help me by keeping an eye on my temp and humidity. If the temps get to high, it will send an alarm to my smart phone or computer via the internet. So, if i happen to be out and about, and my temps get too high. It will message my phone and tell me. That way, I can go home and check on my girls and make sure everthing is OK and fix whatever needs to be fixed. This should be enough to save my crop if there is an equipment failure. Plus, it will keep track of my temp and humidity history .... which is good info to have.

It was 80 some dollars over on amazon. But, make sure you get the whole system and not just the sensor. I've seen them go for 80 to 100 dollars. All depends on where you buy it through.
