1st Time Grower Box Build - 1st Clones And New Grow - Maui Wowie - GDP - LA Kush

howdy Mutt, shes lookin sweet! it should take about 2 weeks before you start to se real buds, and they will be tiny.
this also depends on how soon the stretch stops. thats somewhere near 2 weeks also. so it wont really grow (buds) till that stops.
as soon as the stretch stops take everything thats green under the screen off. thats when your going to see some real bud porn! right before your very eyes:thedoubletake:
 
Yeah I can't wait to see flowers. I already stripped most of the green from under the screen. But, once the stretch stops, there should be plenty more. Now, speaking of stretch. It just really started in the last day or two. So, I don't see it slowing down any time soon. So, I guess it'll be a couple weeks.


I did happen to find some GDP at a local collective. I got myself a couple grams to try it out. No telling about the quality. But, it felt nice and smell great. If you find at post of mine at 8 or 9 pm tonight .... you'll know if it was any good or not ... :ganjamon: :lot-o-toke: :tokin:
 
Well I'll tell ya ..... this GDP is some fantastic shit. Only two bong rips and I am on my ass. Very cerebral, feel it in my face, nose, forehead and eyes. Body tingles. But, it's kinda harsh on the second bong rip ..... bad cough.

The best thing is ....... this stuff is from the same guy that my clones are from. So, I'm growing what I smoked ........ swwwweeeeeetttt.

I was going to say something else ...... but can't remember what it was ..... LOL. :bong:

I checked on them a little while ago. They are growing faster now than they were. It's safe to say they are in the stretch. Not much to report. Everything is doing fine. Thier color is fantastic. Now I wish I would have had the BPN nutes from day 1. But, with building the box, I just didn't have the cash available. I can't say enough good stuff about BPN.

Nice that it the same flowers as the plant your flowering. :hmmmm: maybe I need to make a road trip.
 
Day 10 Flowering


So, today I went down to check on the ladies and to my suprise the LA Kush has caught up too and actaully passed the other two. The LA Kush is now the tallest plant in the box. For those that have been wondering "What the hell is LA Kush" ..... it's a cross between LA Confidential and OG Kush.

So I invented a new proceedure. It's called "Super CRAPPING" ....... that's when you bend over your main cola to Scrog it and you break it off ..................

I figured I still have some room to scrog with the LA Kush .... so why not take that really tall stem and bend it over and scrog it into the screen. Well, when you pull hard enough on the stem it snaps. But you think ..... that's ok, it's supercropped. But, it still has to be attacked to the plant ..... LOL. I went down later to check and it was already dead and completely wilted. The only thing holding it to the plant was the outter skin.


But, I do have to admit. They look reallly good. They just love the BPN i've been giving them. I watered them today and they were drier than usual. So, I may have to start feeding them a day earlier. Here they are ...............

On the positive side. Breaking off that stem gave me the perfect opportunity to bring it upstairs and examine it really closely under the microscope. Here's some really good pics of the flowers. You can see the hairs really well. I hope these close ups help someone else out there with identifying flower/preflowers.

So, I was continuing to play around with the microscope and zoomed in as much as I can on a leaf. I was actually suprised to see how many trichomes were present .... especially since it's only day 10 of flowering.

And, lastly I got some clones to talk about.


The bubbler cloner got cleaned out. The first batch of clones I tried to hatch stayed in there for more than a month without rooting. All of them eventually rotted and died. The only clone that made it was Mini Me ..... but we'll talk about her later. They also weren't the best cuts either. I've since learned to take better cuttings. All the ones in there now are from the LA Kush and the GDP. I took them when I lollipopped my girls on the first day of flowering. All the clones in the bubble cloner are now showing either a tiny root or at least a little white spike that will be a root soon. So, they appear to be doing fine. They are turning yellow. But, that is ok too since they are now using thier energy for roots. Up until yesterday they were still pretty green.

The rapid rooters still look really good. I can't see any roots coming out anywhere ..... so all I can do is wait.

And ...... saving the best for last ...... is Mini Me. I have really been babying it. I almost killed it twice. When I first planted it into dirt I didn't put the humidity dome over it. It quickly turned brown and all but two leaves fell off. I nursed it like that for weeks. But it has since been doing better and has grown new leaves. All the old/original leaves have since died and fallen off. But, it's almost three nodes high now. So, it's holding it's own. At this rate, in 6 or 7 months it might be ready to put into the big box ...... LOL.

Yeah that's what I was thinking. But then again, they have only been in there for 10 days. So, it might take another week. I think 10 days for seeing root spikes in the bubbler is about right. I'd love to tear open a rapid rooter just to see what is inside. But, that would just ruin whatever is going on inside.

I always pull down the rooter or make a slight split in the side of the rooter to see if roots are growing. Its a habit of just knowing whats going on lol. But it wont mess up anything, just dont pull the rooter from the roots, they break easy, the roots that is.

9x out of 10. If the plant is still perky and looking green and stand up towards the light soaking it in then the clones have roots, either that are they will soon grow them. Thats how you know if the rooters are tight around the stem. They will look alive like normal plants. I always triple the dose of nitrogen to my main plant 3 days before taking cuttings. When the main plant turns dark green then I take cuttings. From there the cuttings have plenty of food and wont yellow nor die off before it grows roots. Actually doing this will make the cuttings grow roots faster. No lie. I always get roots in 5 days. I just transplanted some new clones i took a week ago.
 
That's great info. I'll wait five more days, then look inside a couple rooters and see what's up.


By the way Wiz, I can't remember if I sent you that link for the microscope. I got it on amazon for 20 bucks. It was well worth it. If that was you that was asking about it. I'm pretty baked right now. Still smoking on the GDP ..... makes you stupid for a little while ... LOL
 
Looks really great mutt, can you hook me up with a link to that microscope too?
By the way my clones got their roots and perked up in just 5 days even less. Perhaps you are too patient?
