1st Time Grower Box Build - 1st Clones And New Grow - Maui Wowie - GDP - LA Kush

If I doubled my plants, I'd just have to veg them for about half as long. And, I'd have to lower the screen. Not sure what I'll do yet. I may just grow some out natural ..... and just let them do whatever it is they do. Haven't actaully done that ... ever.

It would be nice to be able to pull them out of the box. Spin them around to get to the back side. re-arrange them as needed for height issues or whatever.

Been thinking about this for my next grow..
What about taking large tomato cages, bend them so they're square.
Then tie netting across the tops to make individual scrog's on each plant, you could move them around all you want.
then line em up, like scrog tetris!

That is a damn good idea. Best of both worlds.

I'd probably have to pick up some bigger plastic pots. These cloth pots would probably tip over with that much weight to support.

I have actualy seen a scrog set up at the garden store that you can buy.
it looks like the grill from a weber just got bigger holes and has wire legs so you can push them in a pot. for a 1 pot scrog. but it is only maybe 20" round.
I like bigger

Glad you guys like the idea..
I'm looking into making some big ones.
Even if I have to snip and wire tie them to make custom fits.
Beats paying hydro store prices..
But I'm definitely going to do this for my next grow.

It's too easy to get wire screen. You can easily bend up "coat hangar" type wire to hold up the screen. I'd never buy such a thing from an overpriced hydro shop.

Ya know, I was OK with hydro shops and their prices when everything was still illicit. But, since they've passed medical marijuana laws and now that marijuana is pretty much main stream on the West coast. And it's legal to grow for medical people. The hydro shops need to come mainstream and quit charging "back room" prices for what "used" to be illegal. But .... then again, everybody has to rape thier fellow man for everything they possibly can. I guess it's the old saying ..... do onto others before they get the chance to do onto you.

Sorry bout the rant ..... in a rather shitty mood today. Too bad I don't have any more rapid rooters with roots showing. Planting rooted clones in party cups always makes my day better.

I got my scrog rack for free it was a shelf frome a cooler, just sayin

GD right!
That's a very justified rant.
Said jokingly to the mrs. the other day, "honey! we should open a hydro store!!"
shoulda seen the look she gave me..
But business will always be business, MJ or not.

on a up note,
My crystal bong foresees roots in your future..

I agree ..... I made my scrog screen from some 2x2's and some 550 cord. All I did was drill holes every three inches and then weave the the cord through it. But, you can always go to grocery stores and the like and ask if they have any old metal racks laying around. They usually have extras from old bread racks and stuff. They make great scrog screens ... and are stainless or chrome and typically don't rust very easily.

Let us know how it works out ..... pics would be great.

thats how I got my screen. from a cooler at the local brew thru:)

Went down to check on the girls today. Found 5 more LA Kush clones that had roots showing on the outside of the rapid rooters. I planted all 5 in red party cups. They should perk up here in the next few days. I honestly don't like the bubble cloner. It's a pain in the ass, and the rooted clones you get don't take well to being transplanted into dirt. The two clones I took from the bubble cloner look horrible since I put them into dirt. The first two rapid rooters that I put into dirt are looking fantastic. Unfortunately, I haven't seen any of the Maui Wowie making roots yet.

So, once the clones in the bubble cloner either root or die, I am going to clean out the bubble cloner and put it away. I'll break it out again when/if I decide to try out hydroponics.
