Crittersphere 30 gallon LOS

On the left is a Paki Valley with some previous leaf damage, she grew up in hempy but was converted to LOS last Thursday.

On the right is a Blue Dream, she’s got really tight lower nodes from the blue light and has been in 30 gallon LOS since her 1st transplant.

On the left is Amnesia Haze, the right is another Blue Dream both are in 3/4 gallon hempy format. This pair was flipped over to 12/12 today.

Old news is the 2 hempy chicks hit the wall, the new news is I found the culprit. A bottle of yucca extract was found in the tent room - where it should not be. This was not my doing but shift work happens I guess. A long time friend kind enough to help when I need an escape made an ooops and took my add yucca thing a bit too far. Yep add yucca to the soil chicks but the hydro girls must be sterile. She fessed up, we laughed. Anywho it suuucks but not the end of the world. I’m hoping Amy will show sign of life but I’m planning for her cremation, think Blue chick will pull thru

The latest adventure is for the stealth crew. A friend donated 16 gallons of cedar chips collected from her small rabbit & chicken op. The chips were bagged wet last summer and recently soaked along with 3 gallons of larvae filled alfalfa pellets. Once drained we captured 9 gallons of glorious dark goo all sealed up until we can get a big drum and do a home brew.

The cool thing is the rotted cedar chips were full of 1/4 inch long tan larvae of unknown species.... but wait there’s more.... spotted an easy dozen rove beetle volunteers have moved in to feed on the larvae. Two toned bitches black & brown or black & red they even did the fake scorpion raised tail thing. I’m going to trap them with a plastic cup and lid baited with damp soldier fly larvae carcasses and catch them for release in the Crittersphere. It’s so wild cuz I was planning to order rove beetles tomoz, now I don’t have to pay $75 bones for a tiny parcel of friendly critters plus overnight shipping

Gonna move predator mites into the cedar chips, the final plan involves using (beetle & mite) predator filled cedar chips as ground cover for the outdoors crew. That should take care of the soil side but need something for foliage hmmm maybe ladybugs & praying mantis or californicus mites or whatevs that species is called

dried soldier fly larvae but spray misted with water

two hop ons

lunch time rush

after a few beers they all got naked, every tiny white oval spot is a predator mite. Note the soil looks soaking wet but it’s a piece of bark sprinkled with kelp, Neem seed meal and crustacean shell that was just spray misted with water. This is a separate container just for cultivating beneficial bugs but see how many are in the area the size of a postage stamp? It’s insane

I’ve been busy today in the garden. I have tried to make a cootie barrier to my plants using that sticky stuff. My seeds are currently without nits. My goal is to keep it that way. My tangerine dream has responded really well to the nursery not spray.

I am going to make Coppers concoction while I’m off too.

You are awesome Miss Tra - keep after it!! I’ve had my arse kicked so many times and the hempys hitting the wall really took the wind out of my sails. I never knew how bad it could get last year when we first talked about pests. I’ve had a bunch of varieties but there are some I still have not had to do battle with yet. I’m trying for ground, sea and air forces to defend the home turf, hope I can get there before any pests get a foot hold. So happy you are playing in the dirt today!!!

There were trials, trauma, tantrums and tribulations, K.

Loved the tray booted across the yard pic, that perfectly sums up my gardening prowess! SHTF every day
Omg I was so mad.

So SO mad.

I have an explosive temper, on the upside I cool down almost as quick as I explode. The older I get the better I manage it.

I‘ve got a funny. Maybe 4 years ago our computer wasn’t working properly, I actually think it was the mouse, anyway it enraged me so much I literally smashed the keyboard to pieces, letters flying everywhere. My partner is the cold to my hot, and he gently persuaded me to step away from the computer and he tidied my carnage, but he kept a letter and it sits in my study to this day.

I‘ll show you, hang on.

It’s to remind me I must take a breath, I must take a moment and I must not smash my things like a naughty toddler who can’t manage her emotional response.

Personally I like to view it as a warning to my new keyboard and mouse. One glitch and I’ll fuck you up like I did with my last keyboard. Just ask the lone letter I for proof.

:laughtwo: :laughtwo: :laughtwo:

You are a riot, one heaping serving of whoop-ass. I bet keyboards all over QLD tremble at the mere mention of your name.

It is a huge stress reliever to smash shit up. I worked construction for a bit and a small demo job always drew a crowd, couple of sledge hammers, carbon fiber saws and a skid steer loader for clean up. Seemed to have less accidents if the demo was complete before a liquid lunch tho

remind me - to not piss you off! :high-five:

my personal favorite were the old IBM PS 2 series keyboards. Those were engineered tough as nails anyway you could remove the alphabet key covers since they all had uniform size and swap the letters around to screw with an enemy.... sinister he, he, he. Not as effective on women who can type by touch and know where the keys are without looking...

Flipped the 2 LOS chicks over to flower on Saturday, running a night time lights on gig to help with heat, but it sucks to not be able to tend the flower room during the day. Was trolling on Copperreins page and decided to bust an air layer on the blue dream hempy chick, gonna grow some roots in the middle of the stem then clone out the top half since the Amy chick went tits up. That’s the plan anyway.

I know the yucca was an accident but by the time I figured out what happened Amy had already hit the wall at the speed of light. She had real tight nodes and a beautiful structure so it sucked out loud to see that plant croak. A few weeks back my buddy sampled me out a behemoth nugget the size of a stellar constellation which yielded a few surprise beans.... might have to breakout the waterboard device

I‘ve been on the run a lot lately but went into the flower room tonight & nearly blew a gasket. I’m thinking about undoing the flip to flower and resetting the timer back to longer days, it’s only been a few days in so it’s not like a reveg. The Blue Dream LOS chick needed major leaf cleanup, I don’t do defol for the sake of defol but she has a lot of cooked up leaves and suckers in the middle. I cleaned that up and may stay in veg for a few more days. The Paki chick looks good tho

Can do young lady.

Chicks showed some mottled leaves plus a few crispy edges when I left out on Friday, on Sunday AM the gf or as I like to call her “the future ex Mrs 013” said they looked rather sad. Rolled back in late Monday night to find a literal crap fest in the garden. Prolly gonna slit their throats and toss ‘em in the burn barrel. May give them a few more days but faaaack!

Saw a few eggs under one fan leaf with the pocket loupe (that’s loupe-aye for a certain special someone!) not sure what species of pest is involved. In the meantime will breakout the 1000X wifi scope and get busy with that.

Seeing a few juvenile fungus gnat flyers but they do not appear to be embedded in the soil. Had previously bagged up the No Pest Strip to eliminate the toxic fumes so we busted that out again temporarily.

In other news, ordered rove beetles and lady bugs - should arrive today or tomoz. Started waterboarding 2 beans last nite, one is White Widow other is Amnesia Haze. Mos def will need to re-bag the No Pest Strip and evacuate the room air several hours before releasing the new beneficials.

I’m a caregiver for elderly friends and relatives, truly enjoy the ability to help out but lately limited mobility and pain symptoms have ramped up on the home front. After a 20 minute car ride I walk like a zombie, all rigid like and shit.

.... it’s not enough to tell them you love them. Sure tell them, but more importantly show it - love is an action word! Thanks for reading, for keeping tabs on me; appreciate the support and I love all you guys & gals....

Have not read back but this has gotta be like 12 weeks of veg time down the drain. Yeah they should be much larger at 12 weeks, I’m prolly overwatering the LOS.

yup with my good luck I could walk to the mailbox in a level 5 biohazard containment suit and come back with cancer, hemp mites, malaria, herpes, a blown head gasket, fusarium wilt, leaky roof, IRS audit and a toenail fungus to boot...

and if that’s not enough I will somehow manage to pass it on to the family, the dogs, my laptop, the SUV, the fish in the pond and my friend that lives in Aruba, just hope my freaking rod & reel don’t catch it

first get another opinion or two.

if it were me i'd get rid of them and that soil as fast as humanly possible.
the two-spotted mites are a joke compared to hemp mites.
