Visualize Whirrled Peas: A Perpetual Garden By 013

hey @013 - that's a total run of bad luck. Hopefully that's it for the worst luck you have to deal with this year!

Have you thought about popping some autos for a quick return? I know I'm biased on them, and it's another gamble...but just something to think on.

Whatever you choose, I wish you the best brother :green_heart:

no need to take the tent apart. just clean and start over. but torch those plants.

google hemp or russet mites. a 1000 of those can ride on the ass of a regular two spotted mite. more importantly look at the plant pics.

I suck at growing autos but this sounds like a great time saving hack. It’s high time for me to bone up on some auto flower skillz anyways. Sadly I don’t have any auto beans ATM but think I might know a place that delivers.. ..... ;):p:cool:

thanks Rexer - you rock!!

crap auto correct changed Rexer to Reser - sorry about that

for light weight, regular maintenance, passive growing look at coco. yes it's not organic.
or even run hempy style.

edit : in hempy the pots are so light during flower in the dry cycle we can't keep them upright sometimes lol :cheesygrinsmiley:

wonder if flood and drain would work ...
bit more gear though.
A simple flood and drain is the easiest method personally for hydro, and cheap as can be for setup. My ebb and flow was made from two mortar tubs from home depot, a tote, a 15 dollar kit from Amazon and water+air pump. Made a cheap table to keep the tubs ontop of the tote, pump up into tables, then gravity feed back to the reservoir.

Oh and @013, if you do an auto you know we'll help you ! They're easy

Welcome to the 2021 Pest Palazzo

This is NOT to be confused with the Great Spider Mite & Fungus Gnat Orgy of 2020 - sorry folks but legal dept made us issue that disclaimer, hosted by the same sponsor - but a different shit show!

Thanks for coming out - by a show of hands, Do we have any mites in the crowd? Yes there’s a bunch up in the balcony! So Lenny from regional transfer dept is going to do a PowerPoint and we’ve got a great lunch planned for you guys. It’s All-You-Care-To-Eat buffet format and please be sure to invite all of your friends and neighbors to the clothing optional mixer tonight too..... Food & lodging courtesy of 013

Three mites walk into a bar.... already heard that one? it’s a tough crowd!

The trouble with garden pests is they don’t do birth control....

They come to feed, nest and propagate. Our gardens are their vaction condo, sadly reservations are not required.

Weed pests are like covid, it’s a full on pandemic before you realize a single critter has landed.

For very bug you see there are a couple dozen you missed.

Never did see russets after much manipulation on a 1000X scope but doesn’t mean I’m pest free.

I was looking at the predator mite combo pack long before this last tragedy struck. My problem was I had a plan, but I didn’t know - what I didn’t know, so I vagina-ed out and didn’t make the purchase. I should’ve had several species of houseplants & companion plants already established in the flower room to provide a stable environment for the predator colonies to thrive. We move weed plants in and out of a grow space but I need dedicated (non weed) plants as long term habitat for the beneficials. Then as I move seedlings & veg plants around I can place beside companion plants and ensure the predators are transferred to the new target.

challenge accepted!

We are going to deploy a combo pack of this group of predators.... A.cucumeris, N. californicus, P. persimilis. and A. swirskii.

to eliminate these folks: Two Spotted Spider Mites, Broad Mites, Rust Mites, Russet Hemp Mites, Cyclamen Mites, Southern Red Mites and other species of mites.

so for the sake of science (read - mostly cuz I’m too broken) to lug 60 effing gallons of fresh soil out, I’m going to pull the trigger on the new predators and see where that takes us.....

prolly going to do a soil slurry test just to check on soil ph

thats all folks

Oh man you had me cracking up

I hope they help you out and you have better luck now that your amigos have arrived

No mushy peas huh? Mushy might be better than frozen guess that depends on what’s hurting! Heavens no, InTheShed pull up a couch or beanbag, pleased to have you!

So I gotta ask, what’s the deal? Your yard looks more manicured than a golf course, how do you keep such an amazing lawn?

I’m pausing the grow for a sec while I regroup. Bluter said last pair might have had russets and I am so done with pests.... at least I thought so. Seems as if a new cannabis pest is discovered in BFE today then I will have it here before the weekend is out.

I‘m new to LOS and using rice hulls as ground cover has definitely caught me in an overwater situation. I’ve seen pics of plants with russets but never in person. If you jump back to Here post #439 maybe you see a deficiency or toxicity. Don’t invest a bunch of typing since the plants are incinerated now but I’d love input on the pair that bit the dust

moving houseplants in as barracks for friendlies, ordering beneficial mites & rove beetles on Monday, doing slow release of lady bugs & new bean order coming up.

pleased to have you!
Sorry it took me so long to find the place!

It's turf (plastic). :cheesygrinsmiley: No more watering, no more mowing.

I did read back there and I doubt I'm the person to ask for anyone growing in LOS! If I have bugs in my medium I'm dumping in H2O2 and for deficiencies, I'm tweaking my nute formula. Neither are helpful if there's stuff living in your substrate that matters! And if I have bugs in my plants I'm spraying potassium salts and rinsing when it dries (Safers insect killing spray). I have no idea if it works on russet mites, but it probably does. Some folks recommend the 3-in-1 from Safers since it includes sulfur, but that wouldn't help for long since it gets rinsed off (to prevent the salts from accumulating on the leaves.

Sounds like a great new plan!

No worries - you are a busy guy! That’s hilarious because one time I said to myself - self that yard of Sheds’ is freaking flawless, theres not one bad blade. When I win the lottery I’m sowing the yard full of brix-ment and watering it in with grass colored green latex.

I have sun-po-mag in the soil mix plus I have sulfur for dusting. I’ve got crap tons of IPM products Neem, Spinosad, Safers, SNS, Oil Dormant to name a few but working to eliminate the need for any. Had soil mites really bad, tried to kill them but they won. I know most of our pest products are naturally derived but I want to have beneficials fighting 24 X 7 before any pest can get a foothold.

That’s the plan anyway.... now for execution
