Vick074-OG Kush Last Run in CocoSoil-CO2-1KHPS-5X5Tent-with Porta Scrogs!? Porta Wha?

Re: Vick074-OG Kush last run in CocoSoil-CO2-1KHPS-5X5tent-with Porta Scrogs!? porta

This needs some context for me to agree, I think it is also the most efficient method of making the most of a confined space!:hookah:
what I ment was it takes weeks or longer to fill a screen. If you have access to clones there is no veg time with a sog or hempy style grow.if its an 8 week strain you would be pulling a crop every 8 weeks with comparable yields and less maintenance.Dont get me wrong bro you know I love to scrog but I do most of the vegging in the veg room while my current round finishes in the flower room, im still working on the timing but I think I have it figured out now.I should be able to transplant my next round, let the girls get used to the led's for a week and flip.this is from a production point of view, if you produce enough meds to last you from grow to grow then thats great. For me im trying to get as much as I can as often as I can so waiting an extra month for the girls to fill the screen was not efficient or practical at all.At around $800 a month for hydro and the extra nutes, this round cost me alot more than the next round will because I have the timing down now. I hope this makes sense sometimes I have a hard time putting my thoughts into words:tokin:

I can see your point of view completely and agree that it’s not the most efficient use of all your room, just sticking up for a little Guy.

Selfishly I hope you carry on with a Scrog as I have learnt a lot without the normal cost of hindsight! :thanks: (and it’s a very cool set-up):allgood:

I ll be using tomatoes cages next round and i might even porta scrog them:) until I get the drainage issue figured out the big screen is more of a hinderance than an aid, if it wasnt there I wouldn'd have drainage issues right now I could just lift the netpots and trim the roots.

I guess I cant repost the pics!!! But Wow!! Nice trichs. Very beautiful plants. Looking very very nice. I am impressed with how clean you keep your grow room. You definately have it dialed in. And those porta scrogs look like they work great. I took your advice and added a tomato trellis to my OG Kush but did not put in the screen on top. Great idea!

I really want to thank everyone for their very kind words!
Extremely happy that everyone likes the photos. And by the looks of how things are coming along so far, it's going to be hard for me NOT to shoot photos more often of these girls..
so stay tuned, I'm going to really get into the next few shoots and see if I can come up with some bangers!

And to: Oldmedman, hozona, Buckshot, Whizhigh, Closet Farmer, and Urban Grower.
Thank you guys for the reps!! I really appreciate it!

That last pick is so clear and awesome, so many little clear mushrooms. What type of camera did you use?

Have you seen that guy on youtube that grows in coco HygroHybrid?

He did this experiment with Miracle Grow tomatoe feed, coco, and just tap water, un Ph'ed. It grew very well. It watered it once a week with 1/2 tablespoon of Miracle Grow and every other time it needed water, just plan tap water. He never ph'd anything. He was surprised by the results.

Thanks LEDRF,

For my MMJ photos I use a plain old Canon G11.
It's like a professional level point and shoot, with some amazing features. Even on auto!
Killer white balance settings, macro, image stabilization.. Also have a Canon 7D.
Thinking about pulling out the strobes and doing a shoot with the 7D when they get a bit fatter.

To tell you the truth, I started watching that video, and the dude was so annoying to me, I couldn't watch it past 4 minutes.. I had to fast forward to the middle, and ending to see the results. and even then he was still repeating things he was saying at the beginning.
Cool that he was getting results with just MG, but doesn't really surprise me. Just makes you think about how out of control and over priced the nutrient world has become since MMJ became so big.
But thanks for posting that smurf, I'm sure some people will find it interesting..

May I say...Your plants are just disgustingly beautiful !:thumb:

Thank you my friend,

Your plants are going to look like that or better!
Haven't seen such healthy plants as yours for a while.
You're a gifted man OMM..

This is an exceptional macro... you should be proud of this one, plus reps

Thank you very much Buck.

That means a lot coming from the macro master of the universe!
:adore:

I'd like to replay this!!!!!! reps! :)

thanks for the reps and photo bump whiz!

Vick, I agree that the guy goes on and on. He could get to his points much faster. Thanks for letting me know what camera you used. Not sure what you mean by smurf.

Looking awesome Vick!

That's day 24 of flower? I forget. Which way do you measure flower time? From flip day or day you see pistils?

Thanks hiker,
I'm one of those weirdos that starts counting at the first show of pistils.
But Since I went from 16/8 to GLR for a week before flip, then 36 hours dark, my pistils showed at 6 days..

I call that day 30 :) Still impressive looking!
My room has been on GLR for awhile now. I switched from 18/6 to GLR right about the time we got the power bill. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Re: Vick074-OG Kush last run in CocoSoil-CO2-1KHPS-5X5tent-with Porta Scrogs!? porta

Well I knew things were going too good to be true.
Last night right after a heavy feed, I noticed I had a serious Fungus Gnat Problem.
There were hundreds of squirming larvae in the runoff of a few of the plants.
Great...
So I had no choice but to pull them all out. Hump them downstairs (after a feed mind you.) and into the tub they went.
I did 2 at a time.
Each plant got a sprinkle of Wilson Sevin powder on top. Then about 3 gallons of straight water were run through the medium of each plant. Complete drench. Then I repeated after about an hour of draining.
Just when my back was starting to feel better from last week's defol. I had to carry these 5, 85 pound, 35 Litre loaded pots, down 2 flights of stairs, Flush, (my 6 gallon feed down the drain) then carry them back up again.
it was not fun..

I told myself before starting,
"OK, if I'm going to do this, I'm going to need some beers, and I better be as high as a kite."
So off to the liquor store I went while the vaporizer charged.

:tokin:

Even though there wasn't really anything else that could have sucked as much ass as this.
Trying to look at this positively. I am damn lucky I caught this when I did.. From the amount of larvae coming out of just a few plants. There is no doubt that I would have had a serious problem by next week if overlooked. So I decided to treat them all just in case something unseen was going on.. The plants were not showing any signs of stress, they were still green and healthy up top. And nothing more than the odd Gnat flying around at pot level, which is normal.
But inside the pots? I guess the party was just getting started.
Then I show up, half cut, joint in mouth, holding a watering wand..

Knock Knock Knock..:wood: :goof::theband::headbanger::clown::smokin::party:

BOOOOOOM!!!
And yer dead....
I hope..

Lets just hope that I got to them before they had done too much damage to the roots.
Going to need to do another drench in a few days with a Fungicide, so any roots that got gnawed, don't start to rot..
Can anyone suggest a good Fungacide?
Or will a diluted combination of Grozyme, Bio Root, and drip clean be enough to help repair any root damage before next feeding?

Really wish now that I had taken some photos of the Gnats in my run off, but I just wanted to get shit done, and totally forgot.
But I did manage to shoot a few photos before, during, and after the murder death kill..

I'm going to go stare at the ceiling for the rest of the day.

I dunno - looks like there's going to be some double parking going on very soon!

The resolution on your camera is bonkers, impresses me every time. Your plants look amazing too!

Sorry to hear about the gnats mate - these things sound like evil bastards, and reasonably common of late. Out of interest can they affect a DWC or is it only if there's soil present? I'm starting to think maybe I should order some stuff to have in reserve, just in case I get a problem?

Re: Vick074-OG Kush last run in CocoSoil-CO2-1KHPS-5X5tent-with Porta Scrogs!? porta

Sucks to hear about the gnat larvae in the roots?!! It is real good you caught it in time. I have Sierra Natural Science (SNS 203) in my nute arsenal just in case I have a problem like you had. It is a soil drench spay. It is designed to kill/repel fungus gnats, root aphids, thrips, shore flies and white flies. And it is a natural pesticide. The active ingredients are Clove oil, Rosemary oil and other secret stuff and they are 420mag sponsors. You definately know what you are doing by the way you reacted. Must have been real tough humping those big pots up and down those stairs.

Those plants still look as beautiful as ever!
