Venturi’s Northern Lights Auto DWC 2022 Remix

Working on res changing dos and tres. I did notice a little bit of tip burn. I’ll post some pics closer to change out. I’m going with reduced numbers but not quite seedling numbers. I’m starting with 18ppm water now so that’s a plus and will reduce the total ppm quite a bit down from 200 to start. Not sure what ppm I want to arrive at but I’m going to check it per add of nutes. My reduced numbers are looking like
8ml calmag
4ml bloom
6ml grow
1.5ml micro
I suspect my ppm will arrive around 2 or 3 hundred so that’s quite a reduction. We shall see

So 2 ended up with around 300 ppm. I checked 1 roots after a day of kicking up the light to 100 and they were pretty brown. I kicked the light back down, threw some h202 in there and a sock right now to help block light temporarily. They look better today. Not sure what’s going on there. The others roots aren’t discolored. I had a bit of condensation on the leaves this morning. Think it has to do with the humidifier location and the fan in there. Got some thinking to do.

Good catch, if you suspect that you are experiencing root rot, your on the right track for recovery.

Just remember to work on that plant last. You don't want to accidentally contaminate your other plants.

You can also consider adding enzymes. They break down the dead root materials and help keep them clean. Flying Sull (Z7/Z9), or Hygrozyme are two.

Yeah I’ve had the z7 in there. The 2 differences are res change and light going to 100%. Either the roots got stained or they’re pre rot. Last night I thought rot, today I think maybe just got discolored but not sure. That little bit of h202 does seem to have lightened them up in color. Going back to my first dwc I didn’t haven clean white roots much so maybe it has to do with nute stain. I’m going to keep checking it

A few pics. Been having a week lol. Had a humidifier malfunction. Flooded the tent, vapor burned a few leaves. No biggie really but yea the rest of the week has been a little tough too. Anywho they’re making some moves. We’re at a month now, I suspect they’re going to start showing some growth a lot this week. My ph had been pretty good except for #1 had jumped to 6.25 one day. Generally they don’t range that high and only happened with her but she is a day or 2 older. The roots are all ok. 2 buckets are showing stain with the smallest being the exception. Probably the nutes. I suppose I should have gone with a more well known nute company but I figured keep it local. All seems well on the home front though. My temps have ranged from about 66-75f. My humidity is currently ranging from 50-60.

Before I forget. The bucket that had the mot discoloration etc was the bucket I hadn’t wrapped. I was trying to test out the difference and there wasn’t much, until I cranked the light to 100% that one day to test it out. Makes sense. A bit of a duh moment, but as my mindset from the get go was this being a learning experience, and a hobby rather than really trying to produce has gone pretty well for me and I’m pleased with my time spent. After all life is a journey, it’s all about the time you spend in between, not the finish line. Take in the scenery. Slow your pace, for life is short (as is the case with these autos)

Happy hump day

Far left and right got res changed with grow/bloom schedule. 3mi 1 grow and 6 bloom. Both got great white z7 hydroguard. Ph 5.8. Humidity around 60. I believe we’ll see some signs of sex this week. Quick update tonight. The roots are going crazy though and looking clean and white. I’ll post root pics soon. Got a late start on res changes and running through a faze of filters is much slower haha. Week 6 should prove some pace I believe. Pom’s we’re 480-500 or around wc 1.2. These are a different nute schedule of pre flower though. I have some liquid kool bloom I think I’m suppose to add week 2 of flower? And day 21 I believe I’m supposed to lollipop. We’re looking pretty bushy on 1(far R). Steady going, and happy to be on Ro water. Shoutout to the homie

Hi Venturi, how often do you refresh the reservoirs? Weekly?

Hi Venturi, how often do you refresh the reservoirs? Weekly?
Every 7 days. Except for this week where I let the schedules coalesce. 10 days max. I’ve been trying to baby them, the far left, 2 or 3 I forget got the vape burn so she has been a few days behind in getting increased nutes etc. 1 being the oldest has the longest root structure of like… 3 foot or so it’s wild. No root pics right now but the middle #(2 or 3? ) is trying to catch up with number one, far right..

Very cool. I've never done DWC myself but would love to try it some time. Have seen pics on GWE showing incredible growth rates. For now my garden is outside and mostly Autos. Have a thing for White Widow and Amnesia. I have some authentic Jamaican seed I'd like to try making my own Feminized seed from. Anyways, carry on, cheers ole boy, I'm a fan.

I’m probably going to switch to a soil of sorts instead of dwc this summer. The main reason is the heat and not having to run the ac in the summer . I’ve got the light cranked up to 100% right now, the tent temp is 73/74 ish but outside the temp is 66. That would be impossible in the summer, but cheaply done right now in the winter. Not sure which method I’ll go with. I haven’t done much research but I do hear about hempy method a lot.

So, I dont really dare call what exactly is not right, but your nute situation isnt really as it should be from the colour of the leaves and the developing spots. As I am really not an expert, I hope @FelipeBlu doesnt mind me tagging him for some advice. Same for @Bill284 They will either know, or know who to ask :)

They look awesome otherwise .. be carefull with those tight bushes .. my WiFi is like that, and its a bit of a forest :p

Yeah a few days ago they were really quite lime. I’m keeping an eye on it. With the nute change I’ll see what they do. I had thought maybe there wasn’t enough cal mag. 2 got res change last night and the numbers look like
Week 6
9ml calmag
3ml micro
1 ml grow
6ml bloom

Grow/bloom calls for(per gallon)
10ml bloom
1ml grow
4 micro

The spots however I’m almost positive is from humidifier fiascos. Only the middle hasn’t been spotted from vapor burn. I really don’t think they are a cal mag Deficiency but I could be wrong. I see the pic you’re looking at though. It’s of uno and I think the spots are only on the humidifier side which is in the pic
