Although I'm strictly an outdoor grower, I've often courted the idea of having a winter indoor crop, but PGE is tiered and really expensive when I go over--which I sometimes do anyway with all the pumps I have running for the koi and goldfish ponds....

It has an awful lot to do with what part of the country you are in. prices range from 5 cents a kwh to 22 cents a kwh depending on where you live.

my partner found this update Ebb system and we pre-ordrered it. It uses .75" lines and has leak detetetion tech, 24V and just an overalll "mo better" system....NO water will be left in the bottom of the buckets. Price is not listed but It will be comprable to the other system. We are knocking down the veg closet and a 3rd 7ft rail......hmmm 450,000 plus lumens yummy. Chiller at the same time and one of those multifunction controllers for fans,gas , etc. This will be the last bigg hurrah of purchases.
It looks like we are going to get a tent to use one of the other Ebb systems. I guess a few 600"s for that. This will occur after Christmas harvest

You can always count on Sentinel to show up CAP! lol. Im curious as to how it "detects" leaks. Anyhow if you dont mind me asking Pit what do you pay per KwH ? Im paying just over 10 cents and my bill typically will float right around $450, but thats about to go up because the 2 -1000watts and the rail will be going up tommarrow, luckily the summer is coming to an end and the AC being off will help with lowering the bill, thank god! lol.

if you're from the great state of california, then you are most likely (like me) on a tier system based on a "baseline amount"....exceed the baseline amount and the kwh rate doubles (as a penalty to high energy users)...exceed the baseline by 100% and the kwh rate triples! i use 32 cents an hour as a multiplier when calculating my bill.....
