Droopy, yeah gram per watt is an excelent way to represent the overall efficiency of a garden, true it is more directed at the cash croppers in the sense that it makes it seem as if the higher the number the better. Where as with most of us who do this solely for personal meds where as we grow strains that dont exactly produce the biggest nugs but are of the absolute finest quality (ie:blue cheese).

Efficiency, that's the word.

I'm thinking of it in terms of the battle of the lights that are just getting started in several journals.

Not only the LED vs HID, but the different LED's are of different wattages.

Of course everything will have to be the same except for the lights and I'm sure the values for the gram part will be less than 1. LOL

If Pit doesn't hit his 1/1, I'll bet he comes real close.

If he goes over, guess we'll have to elect him "King of the Growers".

I always start at 5.5 and it will generaly rise up during the week up to 6.0-6.2 which is what you want it to do. dont try to hold your Ph at one number. Diff nutes are absorbed at diff PH levels. you just want it to stay in the range of 5.5-6.2.

I have found this to be absolutely true for me when using GH Flora nutes as well. I went six weeks without using any pH up or down. The trick is not to fuss with the grow too much and let it do its thing. Sometimes it takes a few hours after initial mixing of a nutrient batch for the pH to stabilize. Seen it go from 5.2 to 5.8 in a day. Take daily measurements of TDS and pH and write them down. Note the trends while your plants are healthy. Now, you will have an advantage in spotting problems before the plants show damage. In hydro, it does not take long for that to occur.

Great pics as always Pit. How goes things? are those 2 1K HPS on tracks?, sorry been a little bit since I was checking in on things, lots to do this time of year on the coffee farm as well as the other stuff..

yes 2 1k HPS's on 7 ft rails. we just decided to take down the unused veg closet and add more 1k HPS and another 7 ft ail. 7 more plants should have a grear inpact on yield. Chiller is next

Whew,
Just got through all the pages in this thread. First, amazing; detail, pics, information. So just wanted to say thanks, this journal has encouraged me to go with the Ebb and Grow. I will hopefully be up and running next week, I will continue to re-read all your info. Thanks for the help!
