Day 13 for the clones. I think day 15 will be uppot day.

Day 15 for the outdoor Kush. They have a lot of roots coming out the bottoms. They still have 2-3 weeks until they get their final pots for outside so I may have to uppot to some 1.6gal pots. They will start climatizing to outside today.

Yesterday was Day 15.

Time to plant the clones. 18" of roots on this one.

13"

14" for the other 2.

Add a little myco and they drop right in.

If you look at the stalk on this 2 headed clone you will see a blue line. Notice how below the line the stalk fades to yellow but above it is green, thats the new crown forming. Everything yellowing will be below the surface and everything above stays above.

Actually that shot above is a great tutorial for anyone who can't seem to get their clones to root.

See just above the roots where I trimmed off the leaves and branches right before I cut the clone?

See on the left side the brown spot that healed over the cut on the end of the stubble.

Well the reason I leave about 1/16" to 1/8" of the stems from the leaves and branches stubbled out like that is because the wound is far smaller and easier to heal out there but if you cut the branches and leaves off flush the wound on the trunk is much bigger, so...

all the while that you are trying to get roots, the cutting is trying to heal AND get roots.

If you trim your stubble out a little bit the size of that wound greatly diminishes and you get roots faster.

Don't leave it over 1/8" long or it will start to rot.

I trim all this up on the plant before I actually cut the cutting off.

I use powdered rooting hormone and dab each cut of stubble into the hormone and then tap off all excess.

I do it this way for aero clones or soil clones.

Howdy DV8. I try to be efficient, there has been a lot of trial and error to get here with some blind dumb luck playing a part, and its still a work in progress 🤣.

I was almost there until that @Azimuth character said " Hey man, you ever try bottom watering?"

Now I am back at the beginning again🤣🤣🤣🤣 But its fun!

I'll get you Azi🤣

My best advice on a cloner is to run it for an hour, shut it down and drain it, then carefully take every spray jet out 1 by 1 and make sure there is no crud built up in the jets. I do it every run.

The jets won't be in very tight so they are easy to pull out and clean.

Then when you put it back together make sure all the jets are set exactly the same, don't have some pointing in other directions, line them all up.

You will find better and worse spots in the cloner, so if you always line your jets up the better spots to place cuttings will always be in the same spots in the cloner, then cut twice what you need for clones and cherry pick the best ones.

I find larger clones work better in aero cloners than small ones, and small ones work well in soil.

The actual clone branches of the plant you are taking cuttings from definitely work best.

To get the 2 headed ones I top the clone branches as soon as possible.

The good news is the clones on day 9 are doing fine. The double headed ones are popping roots at a much greater rate than single headed ones. Zoom in on the pot bottom.

The bad news is that after 6 years of faithful, dependable, frosty growing my Perfectsun Goliath has lost a driver or 2. About a third of the lights were out this morning😪

RIP Goliath, I thank you for your service.

Hopefully it doesn't stop completely before the new light arrives.

Oh no! Time to upgrade the light, what kind are you thinking?
