1-4 times daily? I wake with a joint and I go to bed with a joint. Between that, I am hitting on a pipe or smoking a joint. It is rare to find a time when I am NOT using cannabis. I should be studied.

Lol exactly

This thread alone has multiple people that directly contradict their findings. If the participants aren’t honest to begin with, then it seems to me the entire study isn’t honest.

I would prefer if they studied people like you and I. Although I wonder if there isn’t a correlation between the kind of people willing to be studied and the findings of said study. I’ve been offered studies before but turn them down. They always seem too invasive for my comfort. To be fair though, they’re offered through the VA and I’m already very suspicious of the VA to begin with lol.

I was leaning more towards them not telling us things like are the drinkers very mild drinkers, or drunks?

Are the stoners scoring poorly also the crowd with a grade 7 education?

What is everyone eating?

Are they all living in the same environment?

Broad studies can show anything you want to extrapolate.

The broader the study the more you can extrapolate in different directions.

Take 10,000 people of equal age and health, put them in the same environment as each other, with the same education, eating the same diet, after being raised identically, doing the same routine as each other, and then you have some narrow field data to extrapolate from.

Studies that hunt mice with a shotgun are useless.

They are generally funded by and for a corporate direction, or a political will.

This could very well be a good study, but the waters are so muddied we will never know.

Follow the money.

Someone benefits from this enough to pick up the bill.

If a study isn't transparent on its funding, move along.

If it is transparent, at least you have a chance of forming your own opinion.
Personally, since I have started using more, I notice I drink significantly less. I try to consume either edibles or vaping. I use a healthy rips rogue. I'm sure this has to be better for me than drinking. Although I still enjoy a bong hit here and there and have started getting a little bit better at rolling joints, so I doc onsume a few other ways as well.

I think so. There are a couple more sex organs developing on the upper nodes now. Looks male, but a few more days is needed to confirm.

@Stunger could probably tell quickly based on his Sexing posts here but I'm not as confident in my read, at least yet.
The caveat to attempting to sex plants before balls or pistils are showing, is to get really really clear good closeup pics of the gender structures. I took many many pics and discarded anything that wasn't clear (the majority of them). You don't want pics with grainy artefacts or dodgy shadows in them. If such pics are not clear then in my opinion we start 'seeing' what we want to see, which is just guessing, for how I chose to approach it you need sharp clear pics so there is minimal ambiguity.

If you have young sharp eyes then you may seen the signs easily, but if your eyesight has deteriorated (like mine has) then some sort of magnification, or ability to take clear sharp pics is needed. The early gender structures are really very small and a lot of close up photography that I see, sorry to say, just isn't clear enough to judge the gender structure. But for those folk growing in tents it is probably quite easy to take clones and drop the light to 12/12 to be able to tell that way. But I don't have any grow lights or tent, so I am stuck with the approach of judging the early gender structures.

For my current grow, I grew out about a dozen seedlings from regular seeds. I then chose 6 seedlings to plant into their forever pots. Then about 10 weeks later (in mid December) I was able to discern the females from the males (there were 3 of each), and I then promptly chopped out the 3 males. Now all 3 plants are flowering and therefore have thankfully confirmed themselves to be female!

This plant is only on day 24, I think, and is part of the experiment a few of us are running based on the suggestion that The Rev made on his site that starting a new seedling at 12/12 for the first 10 days above ground and then switching to 18/6 or whatever, should have the seedling revealing sex within 30 days-ish.

So far, and with admittedly few at-bats, that theory seems accurate.

May I ask.....I have some "just for fun" plants that I hatched just to see if the seeds were good....and one has shown as female and will most likely as time goes on, reveg.....will I be able to treat it with STS when the time is right so I can turn it male. Will the reveg cause any problems?? These are growing on a sunny window sill.
I only grow outdoors and don't use lights etc.

I have no idea. If you try it I would love to watch tho lol

Isn't that in the danger zone? Which plants are we looking at here, the clones? They look happy. What do you have to change to get it back in the zone?

That cannagar had a good coating of this on the 2 long papers it took to wrap it.

Its hash oil from some Kingdom Organics Cherry Malawi I grew awhile back. It's a sativa for sure! It's too strong. It messes you up.
I’ve never had that Malawi but wanted to try the flower. How is it? CL🍀

Looks more male everyday. I'm looking for "the claw" structure @Stunger describes and I  think I see it on some of the new structures and the original structure is almost certainly as he describes males with the shorter round ball on top of a post (the ol' 'stick and ball') rather than the more elongated female structure.

I'm calling it male but will grow it a bit longer to be sure. Day 25. Not bad!

I'm also going to call our little experiment strongly suggestive. Not enough examples yet to say the 12/12 for 1st 10 days will do it every time, but so far it's worked great.

I think the next thing we need to test with it is whether or not an early sexed plant will also show pistils quicker after flip. This one also won't be definitive because of the variability of seedlings but it would be an interesting thing to know. Earlier pistils should mean a slightly shorter overall flower period which could mean an extra round per year for indoor growers.
