I just saw that somebody nominated me for MOTM. Thank-You mystery person. You made me smile.

I'm just trying to pay back all the help I have received to get to the point that unless I try something stupid, my weed is good smoke consistently, in an Earth friendly sustainable way, but not too self sufficient.

Its very important we don't get too deep into cutting costs and self-sufficiency. The industry needs our money to survive, and the seed companies need the industry, and we need the seeds, so.... Just spend wisely on quality. (Gees version of a rant)

If I can supply a little entertainment value along the way then thats a bit more payback for the great @420 entertainment I have received over the years. It really is a fantastic place here.. (Notice how I went from rant to entertainment value)

Hopefully I can help others get to that same point of confidence in their own growing.

What I really need is a new 5x5 grow light so when MOTM prizes one of those out I am willing to buy votes.

They burn for about 30-45 minutes of constant smoking.

I make my oil with a Source Turbo.

Then I lay papers in the warm honey oil to cool.

Gotta have keif too.

Great draw hole.

And its done.

Now its ready to party.

The oil is hash oil. AKA shatter.

I use a vacuum still called Source Turbo.

You freeze your weed, and I have found that -18C and colder works best. You also place a bottle of Everclear in the freezer.

After 24 hours in the freezer you dump the everclear into a bag with the weed and put it back in the freezer for 120 seconds.

Then you gently slosh it around and back in for 60 more seconds.

Then you run it thru a coffee filter and get a thc laden jar of alcohol.

You take that mixture, which is the picture of the carraffe with the greeny-gold liquid in it and pour it into the still.

The still has 2 chambers. The one you dump the mix into and the one that recovers the alcohol.

Alcohol evaporates at about 170F but if you add a slight bit of vacuum it evaporates at 95-102F which doesn't harm your terpenes.

Two hours later only the hash oil is left in the 1st chamber and 100% of the alcohol gets recovered in the 2nd chamber.

You can reuse the alcohol. I have had the same 2 bottles of Everclear for over 5 years.

I run sugar trim and extra bud thru it until I have 15-20 grams of oil, which lasts about a year for cannagars and such.

It adds a big bang to the cannagar as each one, regardless of which size, gets 1 to 1.5 grams of hash oil and about 1 gram of keif in with the 7 or 28 grams of weed.

They have shut down a lot of parties lol

Nobody can resist trying it, and I'm a sativa guy, and sativas tend to creep up, so by the time you have had a few hits its too late, your getting really high so hang on!

I don't smoke them myself, its too high for me. But everyone else just can't help themselves

Plus we are all old now and dread birthdays, but all my friends and family suddenly love them again.

They actually are a bit of a waste but its not really a waste if everyone is having fun with it.

Sometimes I dust the paper to add more horsepower cuz, you know, the smaller ones are only a quarter ounce each.

I usually make up 15-20 papers at a time. It takes 2 papers to wrap around a cigar.

When the oil is warm on the mat I lay the paper in and let it sit until almost cool, then peel them up.

Once they are room temp the oil turns to shatter so if you bend the paper it does indeed shatter, and sends shards of oil everywhere.

I carefully stack the papers with parchment between and store them in an envelope.

When I use them I warm then a bit on a warm tray to make them sticky again and wrap the cigar.

The draw hole goes all the way thru.

You close the mold, stand it on end, remove the ramrod, pour in the weed, and start packing until its full.

open it up and you have this.

Then wrap it, and with a pair of miniature vise grips I lock onto the skewer and pull it out.

Done.

25 hours later

8 days in the soil and the bubble clone is definitely growing. The myco linked right on schedule.

Its always fun to leave for a few days and see whats there when you return. I won't be home until tomorrow night, I hope the sproutlings are ok.

I need another webcam for the veg tent.

The Mutant is looking fine.

To its left is the bubble clone I planted Sunday night. Its leaves are all up now, but I can't see the other one beside it. Hopefully its OK.

I placed them in a perlite bed but didn't have enough time to stick around and make sure the wicking was working.

I have seen quite a few posts about using hydrogen peroxide to assist in seed germination. I'm not saying you shouldn't use it, as seeds are not cheap, but if you are an organic grower you should be aware of the following 2 facts.

1. Hydrogen peroxide will increase germination rates as it ensures less pathogens are present by killing all microbes. The extremely active oxygen molecules in it break down cell walls very effectively.

2. Your seed is full of microbes that it desperately needs to "Fulfill its maximum genetic potential". They are the seeds embriotic immune system and their primary focus is to protect cellular DNA from being damaged. H2O2 kills microbes.

So you decide.

More plants that aren't of the "fulfilled genetic potential" or less plants (not really, all mine generally germinate unless the seeds are old) that are going to be stronger and healthier.

Those embriotic microbes are Mothers Milk.

Nature spent millions of years perfecting cannabis without H2O2. She prefers maximum genetic potential.
