OK EVERYONE

I have read all the material you keep trying to direct me towards. I get it.

(for the record i DID NOT soak my air stone from SH i just rinsed it, even though ya i know it was a mistake IT DID SINK without soaking.) it broke with in a week anyway it seemed like junk.

and yes i PLAN on anchoring them!
MY ONLY question, out of CURIOUSITY is,

Is it necessary for the stones to sit on the bottom for the water pump to intake the air bubbles! i understand it should be done, but as of right now i have no choice but to let them float! i want to anchor them but all i am SIMPLY asking is, does the water pump INTAKE THE OXYGEN IF NOT ON THE BOTTOM OF THE RES.

Thanks to anyone who can answer that question without giving me a flippin link cuz i have studied those just as much as humanly possible the past couple of days! it does not cover THE IMPORTANCE of anchoring

Probably not...But most everything we do isn't NECESSARY, but it certainty helps, and the small things add up to some BIG plants....the air stones diffuse O2 into the water, almost like solid things dissolve into water and spread out till it is saturated (i.e. salt) Oxygen can saturate the water...so while the little air pockets may not get sucked into the pump the water is far more oxidized that water without airstones, but still without as much oxygen if the stones were sitting right next to the pump..... Personally i would go spend the $1.50 on some fishing weights at walmart and tie em on

That is a More than satisfiying answer! I appreciate the thought put into it instead of directing me to a link i have read more than 8 times...

and yeah the floating air tubes are TOTALLY temperary...my pal is bringin over about 8 inches of fishin line and 8 weights. (new not used)

but yeah i just didnt want to drown my delicate 8 day old little gals...that was where my simple curiousity came from which almost no one felt like answering. SO thanks again!

We always talk about following the nutes suggested on the bottles or experimenting however is I don't remember seeing any suggested tds readings for different parts of the grow. Is there one in one of the tutorials. For example I just went into flowering and my reading if it is correct is around 750. I have no idea if this is right.

Sounds a little low on the veg nute when in full veg. The fact that you don't have a accurate reading right now means you keep it to the bottle directions for the time being. Most of the time my ppm for full veg will be somewhere around 1200 +/- 10% but that's where reading the plant comes in. You step it up by 1/4 dose at first and ramp up to full dose over time. Once you are at full dose, you are at full dose and you need an accurate tds reading to see what they need for the water adds. When in doubt it's water only in between res changes. Too little is just too little but too much is nute lock.

My grow got found!!!

One of my housemates snuck in my room to play a prank on me when I was just outside my door talking to another housemate...I noticed the door shutting so I quickly ran into my bedroom but it was too late! He was quite surprised to say the least!! Hes grown before outdoors and smokes pot daily so he was very interested in it all.

All in all it could have been worse, if someone where to find it I'd prefer it be him. But still sucks that one more person knows, He swore up and down he wouldnt tell anyone and I gave him some incentive ( ) to keep his mouth shut.

So close!! A few days till cut...living with 8 people....almost made it!

My daughter-in-law smokes daily but I keep her out of the loop. I give it to my son and he shares with her, but she doesn't know it comes from me.

It's my sons birthday this weekend. I plan to give him an ounce of my finest (so far) power kush, 2 grams of my primo hash and a half dozen brownies which came out a lot stronger that I anticiapted.

But getting back to your situation, how in the hell do you pull it off? Even if all eight were my brothers and sisters, I would have considered it Mission Impossible and never even started a grow where they might infiltrate, by accident or otherwise.

Yeah, that was my question! 8 people and you were able to keep it secret this long! What were they stoned that they didn't recognize it! No wait, that wouldn't work. Stoners can always find the pot! I salivate like a werewolf and my nose starts to twitch! LOL! Anyway, congrats on keeping it hidden this long!

My eldest son's birthday was a couple of months ago and I sent him some spare grow gear. He's in flower as we speak. Some nice purple kush that I got from a candian company that is no more. Just a couple plants to start his education. Eventually maybe we can turn this into a family business! LOL!

Haha its a task!!! I went thru alot of ona and have 2 windows in my bedroom on a 3rd floor...So one fan blowing in and the other out 24/7...People arnt allowed in my room...i tell em that my gf is in there naked or we have our sex toys out! lolol!

see that kind of seems normal to me lol i started smoking with my dad at 17 my mom at 15 and my grandfather just recently within the year but thats not near all my family that smokes lol. My family always taught me that marijuana is not bad but explained as a kid that it was illegal so i learned not to say anythin in school. I'm on my first grow so take my advice with a grain of salt....

How are the roots on the clones? If they are healthy, you may be able to shake off the coco, rinse, and then prune the roots down? What do you plan on transplanting into?

I just hope that he really appreciates it. For the last 15 years or so, he has been my only connection. Now that I grow, I feel I need to make it up to him and I have no problem doing that.

It's great to share great smoke. You just have to be real careful who you share it with.

When I first made my first primo batch of hash, I casually brough some over to his house, got him in the garage and told him to take a hit. It was great!!! He had no idea!! Coughed for 20 min as it expanded his lungs 3x their normal size. I asked him if he liked it and he just stared right through me. Once he got his legs back under him and his lungs functioned once more, we played Beatles Rock Band with the grandchildren for several hours. All it took was one hit.

This is the TDS meter I have. I bought it from the same place as the PH meter I am about to purchase. HM DM-1 Inline Dual TDS Meter Reverse Osmosis RO DI DM1 - eBay (item 370298984978 end time Apr-28-10 1444 PDT) Let me know if I should keep this meter or I need the better one. It seems to read ok.

I think it reads correctly. It said it came calibrated. I don't know how to calibrate it if it didn't. I had to go out today. My plants are in first week of flowering and the TDS was 1000 this afternoon. I didn't add nutes this morn so not sure why it went up. The 750 was the morning reading.

What do I want the TDS meter to read in flowering?

I put a bid in for $70 and it was excepted for the PH meter. I saw someone got it for $69.95 so why not try. If it all goes well I saved ten bucks.

How do you clean both the PH and TDS meters? Why do you keep the PH meter in a sponge?
