Tangwena's Malawi-Style Cob Cure: Fermented Cannabis

In the next week or two I will be cobbing the Candida clone from Shed. You’ll get to try it in September. :thumb:

That’s right! :slide:

I thought we were talking about October. I’ll have to readjust the budget. :laughtwo:

Thank you so much I want every one to know right now that this thread has literaly just saved two lives. By the sounds of this I would have unintentionaly gave my wife and I an extream overdose of nicotine. Thank you I am more glad that I found this place and not some other place that had the same info with less informative members. Thank you all for keeping this wonderful thread going.

We’re not like other sites. :laughtwo: We’re glad we met you too. :hugs:

I commented once I saw what was said hoping it would steer you away from it, and I'm very glad if I could help in any way. I apologize for intruding on the topic of this thread, otherwise, but very glad I could help steer you away from potentially deadly hazards. Take care.

You need never apologize for intruding on the topic. Cannabis has so many different nuances...... just about anything can be considered on topic. :laughtwo:

Thank you for expanding the conversation. :hugs:

I hope nobody minds me posting this. I only found this group a few days ago and already feel a conection with so many I jus wanted to share this off topic post.

Today I plucked my most beautiful flowers 3 weeks early, to honour my gardian angle Erin Harker. Who was plucked from this world much earlier in life at the age of 18. She would have been 40 today. I love you Erin and I wish I could have known you. RIP 1997.
Please please please don't drink and drive it is not only yours and your victims lives that you screw up, it is also that victims loved ones and the untold lives that they may have touched if you had made the right choice.

I tested the Carnival flower and then the Carnival cob after a 3 month cure. It didn't give us any answers as to what happens chemically to the cob other than it was almost fully decarbed. Potency went down a few percent and terps were about 1/2 of the flower.

Has anyone figured out why the potentcy and terps went down while the effects see to enhance? I have a theory about this that there is an unresearched cannabinoid that is only activated during the firmentation process.

I know alot of you are probably past the excitment about such trivialy things but I have been running a couple test for my set up and it seems like I should have a fairly easy time dialing my sweat box and firment box. If the pics upload for me this time corectly, the first one is of my test for the firmenting box I was able to hole about 32-35°c ( yeah thats right I am Canadian and don't know farenheit sory lol) with one light on over top of the clone dome and the door of the mini green house open for a couple hours. And with two lights on and the door of the green house closed I am able to maintain around 43°c (the second and thired pic, that is if they upload or if I upload corectly I should say lol. Tonight I will be testing how they do in the room when it cools off a little.

I don't know for sure but I have theory. When I send a bud to the lab for testing I cherry pick a nice bud from about 1/3 the way down the plant. When I make cobs I randomly grab several buds and compress them into the cob. There can be as much as 10% variance in test results depending on where the bud came from on the plant (this is according to the testing lab). So the cob test was an average of the whole plant so to speak. Terpenes will dissipate over time, no avoiding that so the big loss in terpenes I contribute to being the average of the plant then the time factor is responsible for the remaining loss. There is something definitely happening we won't see in a normal lab test.

Someone else asked about cobbing a CBD only strain. I did it with a 20% CBD Cannatonic and it works just fine. There is no magical transformation that gets you high or anything but eating some in the morning tends to give relief for most of the day. I'm not a big CBD only fan but the family is and they love nibbling on a little cob to keep anxiety and aches and pains at bay.

That makes total sence. And thanks for the report on CBD. I am planning to do an out door freedom dreem auto grow next summer of about 100 plants and after finding this thread I almost don't ever want to cure my old way ever again lol. Freedom Dreem is a CBD only plant.

Words of wisdom my friend its an art and only an artist can produce the best art.
Plenty of artists on this thread though awesome cobs on 420 these days.

Hello Tangwana so nice to meet the man who brought this wonderful art form to us. I would say that cobing is definatly an art form but the most wonderful thing is that it is an abstract art form and the great thing about abstract art is pretty well any one can do it :D:D

I think also the rough handling we give cobs probably destroys some cannabinoids. I doubt most regular tested buds have been compressed, rolled, heated, and squashed together.

Wow that looks insanly amazing.

Beautiful and delicious, a winning combination. Then there’s the crazy delightful sense of well-being that fills the day after a mere 0.20 grams of chew.

Of all the cobs I’ve made, the DDA are preferred above the others. It’s a chemovar that offers a touch of hallucinogen in bud form, making it a natural for this process. It’s the cob I take with me when I travel. That pretty much says it all for me. :battingeyelashes:

There’s definately something we aren’t picking up with the testing now in place. The challenge will be getting someone with a lab as excited about cobs as we are. :laughtwo:

I have high-CBD cobs that I haven’t yet begun to dig into (thank you Chris Scorpio :hugs:) and I’m thinking of finding a neighbor with anxiety issues to test one out on when I get back home.

I don’t have issues with pain or anxiety, so self-testing is kinda wasted. Not that the consumption would be wasted, since any cannabinoids in will benefit the system at large.

I don’t see it being possible to destroy molecules so small we can’t see them with the naked eye. My gut tells me we don’t have the power in our muscles to make any appreciable damage occur. :laughtwo:
