Tangwena's Malawi-Style Cob Cure: Fermented Cannabis

That is kinda what I did but I don't think it will be nessesary to grind it. I am just useing large dense buds for the thai sticks, during the firment it will all bassicaly form into a dense smokeable stick. I put the skewer through the bud than rolled it as tight as possible. I don't know if thease first ones will work out since the bud I used was fresh and not dried at all. Also the plants that I am using for thease first experiments are plant's that did not preform well, larfy bud, but are still quite potent. Just finished a quick dry of a few of the buds and the smoke was quite enjoyable, uplifting and very smothe. Once you try bud grown in notill soil there is no going back. My wife even said she had some slight hallucinations after it lasted 4 cycles in our dry herb vape. Most cannabis that we have had so far has only lasted two cycles and normaly does not have much of an effect recreationaly.
Simply can not wait for my first cob experiance.

Sounds awesome. Cant wait to see how it comes out for ya. Personally Id like to make the same idea, just smaller for personal use. If I end up with 20 cigarette sized blunts that are manicured nicely so they look pro, Id be happy ;)

We’ve been talking lately about the value of letting the plant go dry in the next-to-last week to increase terpene expression and overall volume. She may be asking for that. :battingeyelashes:
Def worth doing I always try to do it if I can.
This one is getting flushed today then fed only 1/4 strength nutes for the next 7 days before no watering for the last 3 or 4 before harvest.
Then 24hr dark before harvest it all helps, but I have had good results just chopping it straight without the above regime as well.
As long as its ripe it floats my boat ha ha.
I have to try the Panama x Purple haze this week its 2 months aged now.
Just a bit wary as I tried it at 1 month old and it was super narcotic like a powerful Indica.
Fingers crossed its cleared up by now they usually do I just cant afford to write off a whole day right now ha ha.
Might stick with the tried and true cobs until its a rainy day we have rain forecast next weekend.

The aged Panama x Honduras is the best you have to give it a go sometime, it keeps me super charged all day and I even feel intelligent and can remember all the descriptive words that usually elude me ha ha.

Where does one find the Panama x Honduras to buy?

That’s an Ace Seeds strain. Could probably buy directly from them or they are carried through other seedbanks as well. They have some of the best selection of landrace sativas you can get and many of those make great cobs.

Good morning every one.
This is my cob and thai stick that I cobed right after harvest to see what would happen after a 36 hour sweat. They are in the ferment now at about 33°c. They took on a couple different aromas during the sweat most noteably the beef jerky that I have heaed of and a slight mint with it as well. I think the husk mught be part of the reason for the aroma though cause the canary didn't smell like that. It is pleasent to say the least. I think the cobs from this plant may have a little kick to them. I tried some bud to smoke after a quick dry and it was very nice. I also tried a large dose of cannabutter made from my second plant and it was quite potent.

Had a bunch of moisture build up in my bags so I took all the cobs that are fermenting out and let them dry for an hour and now back in the sweat lodge. While they where out I took the photo opp. This is all but two one of them that didn't have any sweat in it and an other that the pic wouldn't upload. Hope you all don't mind me posting and keeping this thread going. I just found this method so it is still new to me, so the exileration that I am sure has gone in some of you is still very much alive in me.

I harvested a weak looking auto and supplemented that with some lower larf buds off my Kush. Hoping to salvage the auto and make some good use out of the larf.

Beautiful Tang, you are only doing a 6 hour sweat? At what temp?
Hi brother I was trying to get a golden cure but no such luck.
I didn't dry the buds enough obviously ha ha.
The buds are sweated at 40c for 6 hrs the calyx turned tan almost straight away so today I will be opening the bags and pat drying with paper towels before re sealing for the weekly dry and reseal regime.
I am trying not to stuff this up I cant wait to try them but that will only be after at least 3 months aging.
Ready before Christmas yeeha!
The two clones from the second pheno smell really citrusy so will have a different high lucky me ha ha.
But they have another 4 to 6 weeks I reckon I will finish them outside in the sun at my fishing camp.
Lets hope the roos or rabbits dont eat them. I may have to fence them in.

Heres what they look like straight from the sweating.
The bottle is from a iced coffee I had the label seemed fitting ha ha.

I started out growing in not-till LOS, and now I grow in hempy with nutrients. To be honest, I've noticed no difference in the quality of my bud. What I have noticed is I get bigger plants with the nutrients. Everyone has their own joyful method of growing this marvelous plant. :battingeyelashes:

I'm looking forward to hearing how the cobs with less-than-top-quality buds come out, in regards to potency. What you'll find in all cases is the smooth smokability the of the cobs. It's like smoking euphoric air. :cheesygrinsmiley:

I don't see any of us losing that exhilaration, to be honest. If the rest of the guys are anything like me - and I know you are :battingeyelashes: - there's a secret thrill every time we partake. I've been thinking about cobs lately and I think the best benefit we get from them is that wonderful sense of "All is well" that hangs around, not for hours, but for the entirety of the day.

Cobs make the universe a kinder, happier place to play. :slide:

When we started this exploration it was with a focus on top shelf buds, but as we've gone along I've been pleased to notice a tendency to see what can be done to improve bud we judge to be lower-tier. I'll be watching closely to see the smoke reports on all these side experiments with potentiation. Thanks for being one of the contributors. :hugs:

Hey everyone (Especially @SweetSue),

I went silent since I have been moving and an idea popped into my head.

And here's the reason for my SweetSue call-out,

Has anyone tried this using a sous vide cooker and a mason jar? Would you follow the same temp.'s and times or would the instructions stay the same?

G

I've used a sous vide to sweat and ferment, but that wasn't in a mason jar. Someone else will have to step in and try this one - maybe you? :battingeyelashes: I don't have anything growing at the moment. I know...... it seems wrong, doesn't it? :laughtwo:

Life keeps getting in my way guys. This process of relocating into a senior retirement community and all the getting to know my new neighbors has taken more time than I anticipated. Thanks for keeping this passion of ours covered during my transition. :hugs::hugs::hugs:

My last cob cure effort, included a lot of sticky trim, one of the cobs with more trim than the other.

I found the cob with the bud to be stronger of course, with a more lengthy buzz. But the trim cob is quite potent, more short term.

I think using the lower larf, or trim, includes a lot of clear or cloudy trichomes. The buzz is pretty intense, energetic/anxiety type, and doesn’t last as long as the bud cobs. But, that was also using bud and trim that was maybe dried a day too long.

This latest cob is almost too wet. The autoflower didn’t have buds that filled out, more like foxtails that were thin and airy, but sticky. Then addition of immature larf from my current crop.

In a few weeks I will be making pure bud cobs from my kush and a Gods AK47. Once that chop is complete, I am going full African sativa Mulanje x Swazi thanks to tangwena, to get a good quality cob.

That woke me up faster than a double espresso ha ha. Make sure you let me know so I can follow along maybe even do a side by side ha ha.

It seems like the ability to hold a specific temp under a vacuum (using the mason jar) would be convenient with sous vide and if it was a little sweaty you could pop the top, Pat down with a paper towel, reseal, and then drop it back in the sous vide bath.

I am also not growing, which was why I mentioned the move. Sucks don’t it.
