Tangwena's Malawi-Style Cob Cure: Fermented Cannabis

Testing the maize skin wrapped cob of Purple Honduras x Panama today its only 2 weeks cured but I am fully drying it to start the aging at this mark.
The high chewed is just out of control already with aging its going to get even crazier.
I was going to go into the effects but I am going up too fast ha ha.
Just enjoy the pics it smells like Nepalese Hash its amazing.

Looks great Tang. When you do a short sweat and ferment then dry completely do you still open weekly to dry? I guess when you say dry completely so soon after ferment how long are you letting them dry? Do you still open weekly during the aging stage?
Hi my friend
It is the smell is amazing and something I want to retain. I try to dry as much as I can but not ever 100%.
I still open regularly weekly to further dry ect to keep an eye on the aging until they are stable.
Once you dry past a certain level the fermentation stops and you are just dealing with the breakdown of the plant material over time.
Every cure I try to improve on the last one and keep any desirable aromas, tastes or effects I got on the previous cure.
I still have not been able to reproduce some of the finer cures I experienced from my scores in Africa.
If I had enough pot to play with and a laboratory with the right equipment to record everything it would be easier.
But I'm just a back yard operator so its a lot of hit and miss and following my nose.
Still a lot of fun though ha ha.

Your mind and body is getting tuned in now Sue.
.........
Hearing that from someone like yourself gives me hope that I'm not loosing my mind ha ha Love it.

I can feel this happening Tangwena. It’s mighty exciting to feel a shift in how my body uses the cobs. Ahhh.... decades ahead to play. :cheesygrinsmiley: Sometimes I still question my perceptions, then I lift my head and the universe moves, and I realize it’s not a dream. :laughtwo:

I wanted to thank you for putting so much into this effort. There’s simply no replacement for the years of joyful experimentation you and your cohorts have put into this dream of yours to change the world in your own special way.

When I started this thread I wasn’t expecting my world to turn upside down and find myself on the other side of the country. Lol! Your commitment to this adventure is much appreciated. :hugs:

Also, my Carnival cobs are aged enough that they’re covered in crystals. This morning I didn’t weigh the chew out, simply dipped my fingers in a couple time to pinch some up. From the way I’m flying I think I exceeded my usual 0.2 gr. I’m learning that the older they age the smaller dose I need to go all cosmic. Nice to know. The harvest extends just a teeny bit more.

Gotta get me moved to a legal state in the next year or two so I can get back to making cobs. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Shortened the sweat to 15 hours. Thicker cobs. Then sweat for only 5 days.

The big cob started at 70 grams and has lost considerable amount of weight. Half of this cob was taken out of sweat a day or so ago. Down to 51 grams and I am letting it dry completely now to end the ferment. The second cob was started at 51 grams and is now down to 41.

Good God..... I love the way you guys go at this. You having as much fun as it looks UA? :laughtwo: When is that cob you didn’t have much expectation for gonna be ready to test? I’m waiting for a report on it. The cobs have been surprisingly effective, regardless of what we do with them. Nothing is ever lost.

Oh.... the reason I stopped.

I’ve been thinking about what Tangwena once suggested about taking a couple hits about an hour after chewing cob. Thing is, I chew as I’m headed to the beach for my morning 3-hr playtime in the sand, and this isn’t a legal atmosphere. The challenge was how to make this happen.

This morning I remembered I have a Kind pen. Lol! It’s charging now so I can use it in the morning. :cheesygrinsmiley:

This will be fun.

Hey Sue, the cob I made from the auto is in the end stages of drying, and probably a month away from a proper test. It’s lost a lot of weight.

However, just because it’s not ready doesn’t mean I haven’t tested it lol, I ate .2 grams on Sunday. It was coming at me in waves for the first hour or so then I promptly got sleepy and took a nap. After that is was a mild buzz. As postulated it seems to be more narcotic. I left it sweat too long and fermented it for a week. It’s dark and smells like it looks. I will give this one a month and test again.

I also tried my newest cob that is drying. It has gone from the initial 120 grams to now at 75 grams. It has a nice colour and sweet cannabis aroma. I ate .2 grams and have a nice uplifting cocoon around me. This is going to age very well.

The intial cob making is a bit like ripping off a bandaid for my little 4 plant grow. Used up 1/4 of my harvest for this experiment but like you, I am enjoying the journey.

I live vicariously, in tune with the universe, through you lol. Have a great one.

I think I hit this cob outta the park this attempt.

I have tested it twice. .2 grams each time and I had the best day both times. Smiling though out the day, with the buzz lasting around 6 or 7 hours, this is becoming my favourite way to consume cannabis.

Alright, couple proper photos of the actual colour and texture of my current cob. Awaiting feedback from friends on its effects, but so far...its a hit.

Hi all. I just finished reading the entire thread...just in time for my first harvest.

I’ll be collecting supplies and getting things ready....full harvest coming in October.
I will try some with the blackberry and elixir CBD that are hanging now and for sure with chocolope and DDA in the future.

Woot!! :yahoo:This looks like fun.

Here are the future cobs, Mulanje x Swazi sativa, first time trying to raise a sativa. Ask me how it went in 6 months lol.

Safe to say everyone around me are digging the cobs. Including me, really do have you floating through the day, enjoying life. I haven't had a large dose, over .4 grams, but I have a few friends that have eaten almost a gram at a time. High tolerance folks, knocked them on their ass lol.

I have completed my first round of cobs and could not be more excited. I did Elixir CBD, BlackBerry and green Poison.
I fermented in the dehydrator which was dead easy and so far have the first two out. I started with blackberry which were the smallest at 18 hours. They are now dried, resealed and on the cure. The green poison were larger and stayed in dehydrator for 21 hours and are currently drying. The CBD will stay 3 more hours for the full 24 before I take out to dry off.

I have a standup freezer that I currently defrosted and cleaned that was sitting with the freezer off but door ajar so lightbulb was on. That made it nice and toasty warm in there...then my lightbulb came on and I put a thermometer in there. Guess what...perfect! Hovers in the 27 degree mark. That got me to thinking....we have used styrofoam coolers with a nightlight bulb inside to heat to incubate chicken eggs. I’ll test out temps and get back with results. Easy place to cure with good temps maybe.

Here’s a few pics of my first try.

bought a vacuum sealer today on sale at cdn tire for $40.00 .....

YES! :yahoo:

Exciting times around here. UA.... way to go buckaroo! :high-five: It’s fun to share, isn’t it?

Do yourself a favor and try a half-gram chew some day when you have the time. :laughtwo: I find 0.2 grams to be the best consistent dose for me. Makes the whole day go better.

@Kanda , welcome to your latest obsession. :hugs:

18 months in, and I have to admit, as I lovingly gaze over the beach the universe dropped me down next to, that nothing else I’ve smoked or ingested with cannabis goodness holds a candle to the experience of chewing cobs. :battingeyelashes: :green_heart:
