Smokerjoes 2nd Journal

When would you like me to place them in their own buckets? Let me know (Anyone). I know when I would like to transfer them but I will follow the consensus. Keep in mind that the hps comes on when they all get their own buckets.

All I know is I don't think you want to get the roots tangled but who said they can't all grow together? I see bushes next to bushes and trees next to trees outside. I've heard here on 420 a few times members telling one another to "put those plants in separate pots" but why?
I've even seen fields of weed on TV lined up in a row like vegetables.

Yeah I have grown 2 to a bucket to completion many times. I just train them opposite ways. I think I may show how to mainline but im not sure yet. I do think I am going to show defoliation vs no defoliation yields . I will mark them on the tag this way you all can be sure im not going to pick the biggest plant for one way and a skimpy plant the other style. I personally dont believe in defoliation as I just gently tie leaves in the way to the main stem vertically so they arent in the way but still contributing.

I love that style Joe, I decided I will be doing little to no defoliation from now on - if anything i'll remove dead leaves and some popcorn but none of the healthy leaves. I'm going for quality, not yield. I've never grown in same pot intentionally so I'm not sure when it would be best to separate, but when I transplant (now I usually go straight to final pot) I usually wait until leaves are protruding over edge of pot a little.

Oh yeah I know when to transplant but I like others opinions and figured to let others chime in :)

Subbed Smoker, Looks like our plants are at the same stages from the pic's i saw.

Checked in on the plants to water them and wow is all I can say. Just from yesterdays picture to today They have put on some bulk like crazy. 1 extra node on some and branching on others. Just overnight! Im tempted to take you all new pics right now so you can see Im telling the truth but the dark cycle hasnt came around just yet. Im pretty excited to show you all.

Yeas I have been talking this over with my gf but I want to get more light before then plus a co2 generator and other supplies so sadly the timelapse will have to wait. Im gonna take you a few pics now though.

Best I can do at this point until they are tall enough to go to the underside of the canopy. But this shows a comparison to the last. Since they are still babies I didnt want to go moving anything to show the new parts but hopefully you can see what I see. When they are tall enough I will start showing them next to a tape measure.

Hello everyone. Not to much to update. Just getting new soil put into 4 buckets while leaving the mystery plant in the original bucket by itself. The phulbani arent ready to transfer. Probably do those ones next week.

My soil is fox farms oceans forest as well as fox farms happy frog. Happy frog is for seedilings and so will be my top layer of soil in the bucket. Ocean forest is a bit hot for seedlings and so that is the lower half when the roots dig down that far the plant will be a adult. Both soils have perlite but I add perlite as well to the rootzone especially as it helps the plant form a rootball. Perlite goes from coarse to extra fine. I use coarse which is larger so it allows more oxygen to the roots as well as improved water drainage.

Have a great day.

Ok so the 5 plants are in their own buckets. The 600 watt hps has been turned on. The room is about 80 degrees as of now but the light has only been on for 2 hours. It took about 25 minutes to put new dirt in the buckets and transfer the plants water the plants so not to bad. Hope the temps dont go to much higher or I will put the 200 watt cfl in and turn that on for overnight and just use the hps during the day only. I know that is opposite of the way it should be done but my gf is more worried about the light disturbing her sleep then proper temp maintenance. Now im going to look up co2 generators.

1 out of 5 of the new phulbani I planted the other days has popped up. 6 hour dark period soon. Pics tomorrow.

Yeah its good to take a break. While I took my mandated break I kept reading and increasing my knowledge so I made sure to forget as little as possible before this current grow.
