Smokerjoes 2nd Journal

When you plant 8 and get 9,i would call it that lol. It's like when you break a branch on accident and then turn it into a clone and get a whole lot more weed from it.

2 more days to start of football season! So pumped!

Though it isnt to much I'm going to put up pics of the plants in a bit. Im experimenting with a new light cycle to see how the plants respond and so far it seems they just love it.

Well today is the beginning of day 6 since the first 2 seeds broke ground. Will take pics next wednesday on day 14.

Think of the plant as a warehouse. It uses light to store in the warehouse and when the light is off it empties the warehouse. The reason I chose 42 on 6 off is because its not exactly a always on phase but the plants still get tons of light but have a time to expend that stored energy as well as cut the costs a bit on the lights. When its time to flower instead of 12/12 I may do 24/12. Its hard to do experiments with only 1 dedicated grow area. During the 6 hours off I notice the plant grows more rapidly then a straight light cycle of always on plus the temps stay in the mid 70's easier then hovering around 80.

Yeah I cant tell for certain now but it does seem to be growing a bit faster at this point. Will know better when the plants are larger.

Yes when its time to flower they will. It will take a bit longer but the yield is increased given the extra time. It merely slows the timeframe to increase growth.

Ok ok enough about the smoking. I just meant to mention it but I dont think all of the readers care and just want the goods.
That's where you're wrong Joe. I'm sure everyone care's just as much about your plight & health if not more as we do about your grow. Keep up the good work.

The babies are lovely & I'll be paying attention to your light experiment.

This light time is gonna be a nice one to watch. You just know way to much shit Joe. You are one smart cookie and im glad you are here on this forum. You bring a lot of knowledge to this forum or at least you do for me. Keep up the good work. Did you check out the cola on one of my baby plants it was only about 20 inches tall and a good 10 of it was cola. I washed it now its up drip drying for a lil bit i post more pics when everything is dryer.

Hey man no I hadnt yet. Im sowing 5 more seeds but after that I will. Im also watching a flouride documentary and how its so harmful. I already knew this but I like to brush up on facts. Thanks for that compliment. I am very honored to have helped you. I originally wasnt going to join this site because my privacy concerns but my search for education as well as my passion to teach trumped my privacy concerns long enough to go ahead and commit to this undertaking but so far I am glad I have and its because of people like you that makes me enjoy this. So thank you sir

I'm fascinated with this light schedule, in my mind they wouldn't have enough rest period so I can't wait to re-adjust my mentality :)

Well here is my thinking on it

With anything in life whether cars, buildings, civilizations and even gardens it takes far longer to build them then it does for their destruction. I think of having the lights on as building as in my warehouse example. The plants are metastasizing or building on themselves so since it takes longer to build I give them more time(light) to build with and less time to use up that energy is needed because it takes a fraction of the time to destroy(expend energy) So far the plants are responding well in fact better then I anticipated and I try to set my standards high but what I am noticing is that they are just flat out getting more work done during the lights out period since they know its gonna be a shortened period before the long period of light they simply work faster. I hope this all makes sense as sometimes I think faster then I type and sometimes I make things more convoluted then they need be but I feel giving examples in a different form helps to show relevancy.

Perfectly explained & I understand the theory Joe.:thumb:
I really hope it works a treat but it does combat my original learnings that the plants need the rest time to build their energy. If you put a human in a factory & worked them for these hours eventually they would wither & their production would stop so my logic tells me the plants will suffer stress from being over worked.
I'm not trying to put down your theory in any way, just explaining it contradicts what I have learnt. I also learnt that defol was bad & I now know that defol is extremely beneficial, so with an open mind I will sit & learn from your journal.
You could become a pioneer of a new lighting schedule if it works, the world needs folks like you to push the boundaries so I applaud you sir :)
