Slammy Pajammy's Indoor Organic Supersoil Ladies, 2019! 2nd Ever!

Man they always look so green and full

Thank you, my friend!! That light always shows them in such a brilliant spectrum as well. I love the veg pics for that reason!! I was definitely also noticing today how deep this light penetrates into the canopy, they seem to keep nice green foliage way deep into the center of the plants, even with the intensity cranked down to like 30% at the moment. It's so satisfying to see the difference a good light makes!!

Flower update:
Temp: 20-33 degrees Celsius
RH: 30-45%

Man these are starting to look so good! :circle-of-love: I thought these were going to be pretty average because they were definitely the weakest of the 5 plants... but with some love and attention, looks like they are going to produce some beautiful flowers!

I gave them both about 1.5-2 litres of water today (probably could've watered them sooner, they sure suck these small 15L pots dry pretty quick). But we weren't to the point of being sad or droopy yet, so I'm still happy.

Tomorrow should be 5 weeks on the dot! Although technically it was probably a few days after the flip that they actually started showing flowers.... but oh well. I'll be scoping them when we are close and going more off that than the timeline anyway. These might even turn out better than the first white widow run did!!

Veg update:

Good god these are getting big... haha it can be hard to notice the difference from day to day when they get this size, but when you sit down next to them to water them and realise they are as tall as you... it's a pretty nice feeling :')

Looks like we fixed up whatever it was that they were desperate for, they are looking great and lush again! My bet is on phos or magnesium. I'll probably get another tea brewing soon to stay ahead of anything else, and I won't be afraid to use the epsom salts!

I did chop some of the worst leaves and necrotic tips off the one white widow, just so I can be sure to catch it quick if it starts any fresh spots. Then gave her a little pinching and bending to keep that canopy even. Not sure if it's the added silica in the current amendments or just the plant, but these stems are FIRM!! It was hurting my fingers to try and squeeze them enough to soften the inner membrane!! Haha that's a good sign of a nice healthy plant I guess!

Gave them each about a litre of water, with some egg shell ferment just for fun. Pots are a little light, but nobody is getting desperate for water yet. At this rate, I may not be able to let them go all the way until the current flowers get the chop, for fear of outgrowing the space!! Haha

Today's Update:
Temp: 21-34 degrees Celsius
RH: 28-48%

Flowers are looking phat! I can't believe I've still gotta wait 3-5 weeks! I have good feelings about this run

Veg ladies are still getting bigger each day! I think I'll brew up a nice potassium tea sometime soon and get a good amount of tea into them.

I was also reading some references by @conradino23 on another thread, about not using molasses too frequently in my teas; the idea being to encourage the soil more in the fungally-dominated direction (by using fungi foods like my kelp meal), because typically a less established or recently damaged soil food web will be tipped toward bacterially-dominated already. Although different plants will grow better towards one side of the spectrum or the other, the father along we can push it towards fungally dominated, the closer we are mimicking a beautiful old established humus-y soil

Molasses clog up the soil. They also inject too much potassium. Carbohydrates can fuel bacteria growth, but only in short term, so there’s no continuous benefit of doing that. Roots need to establish symbiosis with beneficial fungi (mycorrhiza) to fully exploit soil resources. Particularly they are responsible for phosphorus uptake. Soil needs to have a specific amount of carbon and the right carbon to nitrogen ratio to be considered balanced. Fungi thrive in carbon rich environment and bacteria prefer nitrogen and certain minerals to multiply. It’s all about the balance.

Today's Update:
19-28 degrees Celsius
RH: 44-68%

Flower girls are still fattening up. Might give them some more water tomorrow or the next day, and try to get them every other or every third day to keep them nice and happy

Probably will be time for another tea again soon, too! But for now everybody is looking great! Still just playing that waiting game till it's time to flip the veg ladies!!

Yesterday's update:
Temp: 20-28 degrees Celsius
RH: 60-77%

Big rain storm came through and boosted humidity way up. Hopefully shouldn't pose too much of an issue! I don't have massive dense flowers at the moment, so I don't think mould is a huge danger at the moment. They're looking great though! Sparklier by the day!

Will be getting a tea brewing later, and might foliar the veg ladies with some more epsom salts, just to be sure we've fixed the deficiency issue. Still looking beautiful!

Today's Update:

Temp and humidity have still been a little high from all the rain, but we should be heading in to a cooler time of year! Next flower run will be much better off. But these are still progressing beautifully!

I did give the flower ladies roughly .5-1 litre of water each, just to keep the soil kinda moist and prepare them for a more in-depth watering tomorrow. They sure get thirsty making flowers!

Much frostier than the first run, can't wait to see what these look like in another 2-4 weeks!! The missus keeps pushing me to harvest early, but we've already waited this long! Might as well wait till they're good and ripe!

This gives me high hopes for the other two widows in the closet!!

Haha I can't wait to see how much bigger they get when the flip starts!! Could be just two weeks now!! Then hopefully two won't be too big for the cab!... :D

Flower update:
Temp: 17-31 degrees Celsius
RH: 47-79%

Getting so big and sparkly!! I am WAY more excited about these two than my original widow. Maybe she just wasn't as nice a pheno! We're bang on 6 weeks now, so I can't wait to see how the next couple weeks unfold!! A few small lower down flowers fell off :yummy:. And I've been pretty stoked about the result, even this young! Can't wait for harvest time!!! :D

Got about 1.5 litres of water into each, with a little epsom salts, just to make sure they don't need any magnesium right now. Looking beautiful! I'm going to try and keep them good and wet the next two weeks, to give them everything they need through the end!

- malted barley
- lots of kelp meal
- coconut meal
- volcanic rock dust
-a little high phos guano
- and some of my calcium/crustacean blend

I'm hoping to make a fungally dominated tea to push the soil in a good direction for phosphorus and some of the minerals they'll need to head into flower soon!

This post in another thread posted by @conradino23 has convinced me to try another route with my teas, so I am going with plain water, no molasses this time! And lots of fungi food!
20200310_183839.jpg

I also got about a litre of water with epsom salts into and all over each of the three veg ladies. They'll be ready for tea tomorrow!

Yesterday's update:
Temp: 18-30 degrees Celsius
RH: 45-57%

Gave the flower ladies a litre each of tea with a lil bio boost slipped in there. They frosted up BIG TIME!! :') these are going to be deadly!

Veg ladies are definitely still looking hungry for something. Dark and then necrotic spots are popping up in older growth, so they got about 2 litres of tea each with egg shell ferment slipped in there, in case I've tried too much Mg and locked out Ca. It's mainly only the one white widow. She's a hungry one! I think that's chubby, so that's pretty characteristic of the way she was as a tiny seedling, actually... haha!

Today's flower update:
Temp: 18-30 degrees Celsius
RH: 44-67%

Flowers are looking FABULOUS! One thing I am definitely noticing is the size difference between the one who had a lot of lower flowers stripped (accidentally, of course...) from the lower parts of the stem earlier on in flower... much bulkier main buds than the one with all the cute little sucker buds down below. And possibly frostier? Little bit of stress and no having to share does a lady some good! Haha lollipoping is definitely a known technique, but it's interesting to see the difference it makes (potentially... they are completely different individuals not clones, so it's also not exactly a fair or equal comparison)

Either way, I get these beauties in a few short weeks! :')

Today's Veg closet update:

Still looking like they're hungry. I'm going to try to give them lots of varied teas, and also try to remember to be patient and let the plants do their magic. I want to get on top of this and get them sorted and happy so we can confidently head straight into flower in a few short weeks!! So excited!! :yahoo:

Temp: 19-32 degrees Celsius
RH: 40-53%

Gave the flower girls another litre each of water with some bio boost. No runoff out the bottom, so they are definitely drinking it up at the moment!

Veg closet is still looking pretty good. Guna get another tea brewing probably tomorrow, similar to the last one.

Today's Update:
Temp: 17-30 degrees Celsius
RH: 53-65%

Finally got around to switching the lights back around! so temp in the cab should be much more manageable now. I also put the larger white widow in the cab to flower with the last little white widow for another week or two while she finishes up. We did chop one early, as we just couldn't resist having decent pot around, and these two cute little plants are shaping up to be terrific! Haha

But that's left plenty of room to get these ladies on the way to flip. Then in another two weeks or so time, I'll put the girl scout in the cab too when the current lady is done, and we'll flip the schedule on the smaller widow under the Viparspectra, and everybody will be on the way to stretching and creating beautiful flowers!

Got about a litre into the flower girl with some bio boost in there

Got just over 2 litres into the new flower girl, with some bio boost and a bit of seaweed extract. Mostly to get her ready for a good tea-ing tomorrow

Got another tea brewing today:
- malted barley
- lots of kelp meal
- some coconut meal
- volcanic rock dust
- calcium/crustacean blend
- some alfalfa meal
20200317_200355.jpg

All ground up and mixed 1:1 with EWC

20200317_200456.jpg

Then into the clean water for a 24hr brew (still going without molasses, just to see the difference)
