Silverback OG Grow

I'd not condone giving such a young plant lsd, she might go off the rails :)

She's looking great, I can see good growth since you topped and she's looking a happy shade of green.

You could actually start a bit of LST on those 2 tops I've circled in the pic.
IMG_20201208_222425.jpg

Just gently tie them down, the idea being to persuade them to grow outwards rather than upwards.
Imma try it when the lights come on! Thanks love

Wait! Tie them down to what, tho? I’m assuming the sides/handles of the bag? Asking because rn I just bent them and they stayed...

Just bending them with your fingers whilst those tops are still young is a good idea,
You can either anchor something in the soil to tie them down to or wait for them to grow a little more and tie them to the sides of the grow bag.

So I just got this in the mail! Rn I was just using organic miracle gro soil & megacrop! My question is: can I/what happens if I add or mix this fox farm soil with the current soil??? Curious!

I’m also JUST just starting a sativa plant (I THINK she’s named Sunshine ). Maybe after she sprouts I can add the FF to the mix for her...?? ¡HELP!:nervous-guy:

That should be perfect for you, it's much more suitable than the miracle grow.

It should be fine to mix with the miracle grow, just be aware you won't need to feed your seedling for a good few weeks as the FF should have enough nutrients in to keep small plants happy for a while.

Thanks! I think so, too!! I’m not going to do a MAJOR mix with the silverback. I just added a bit on top and I’ll let it do it’s thing with the MG & MC! Also, when do you think I should move to the next stage/level of (MC) feeding? I was thinking around the time I begin the veg stage. Thoughts?

WTH is THIS?! I have no idea what happened to this ONE leaf:oops::confused: What have I done?!

Also, is it just me or is she just looking...idk:straightface: She also hasn’t grown (yet) where I topped her. I realize I’ve never grown an indica before but things can’t be THAT different re the care of the plant, right?? WHAT HAVE I DONE?!:thedoubletake: :nervous-guy::lot-o-toke: BTW, a couple of the pics at the end are from yesterday, I think! Either yesterday or the day before. I posted the pics in descending order (newest to oldest). Thanks in advance everyone!

Nothing to panick about just yet.

Im not the most reliable person when it comes to diagnosis but I'm thinking you have the start of a magnesium deficiency.
Going on what I've seen in the past too much megarop can do this.
Your plant looks pretty dark green which is also an indication of possible over feed.

How many grams/gallon are you feeding?
It could just be a simple case of feeding her a little less.

And she's definitely grown where you topped her.
That stump where you cut won't grow now.
You're looking at the 2 stems either side of where you cut, they are your new tops now. :thumb:

Bill might be right about the chemistry. I haven’t a clue about any of that. I can help with a couple of simpler things though.
It appears as though you are getting some nute splash on the lower leaves. Try not to get the leaves wet when you’re fertigating, especially if you’re putting calmag in your juice leaves really will wither in spots like that.
So if you’re using foliar feeds (what are the droplets in that one pic?) add a few drops of dishwash detergent as a surfactant - it will spread out and not form droplets like that. Droplets can cause ‘lensing’ with the light and give you little patches of cell damage too.
Also a suggestion is to pluck every leaf that comes into contact with your growing media (soil?) because they become a vector for disease.

She has nice healthy looking new growth chugging away in her tops she’s gonna be just fine :meditate:

Dark green...you think? To me she look light (almost BRIGHT) lol :cheesygrinsmiley:Maybe I’m just lit:ganjamon:

Right now I’m using 4g/gal of MC. That’s the dose I’ve been using since I started; I haven’t gone up to the veg stage yet. Based on this info...what am I doing wrong?

WOW!!! You are EXACTLY right!!! I did it intentionally, too:straightface: I told y’all...I’ve never planted/grown ANYTHING (other than my 2 children) before:sorry: So ok...I’ll take that (and others, if I see some) off like PRONTO! I tell ya...you guys are the BEST!!!! @Billpopy79

They certainly look a healthy dark green to me, the newer growth at the tops will always come through a lighter green.
Overall she's looking real good.

Honestly, I think youre probably about right at 4g/gal.
One leaf with issues isn't really a problem, keep an eye on her and if you see anymore we can always call in some of the experts for some advice. :)

Well, next to me you’re a PRO/GENIUS!!! You and a few others on here have been a GODSEND to me! Wish we could all have a “session” together one day!:passitleft::ganjamon::cheesygrinsmiley:

Hey Reci,

Its ok to spray mist water or to use foliar feeding on the plants for now but as you near the start of flower cycle that could set you up for PM which is powdery mildew or botyritis aka bud rot. Both conditions are really bad and many growers have lost an entire harvest due to it. Don’t spray water late in the day, do it first thing before lights on but as the plant gets more bushy and leafy it might be wise to discontinue the practice all together.

your plants look gorgeous!

Hey there 013!! How you been?! So, WOW!!! I had no idea that misting her leaves caused powdery mildew! My girl has a TON  So if I stop spraying/misting them NOW (and I WILL)...will that fix/reverse the problem?
Thanks for the plant love! She’s a cutie, for sure:circle-of-love:

What’s wrong with my baby?! Doesn’t she look droopy to you? Pls tell me I’m trippin

Hey Reciciup.

She does look pretty sad and droopy today.
Looking at her leaves they look swollen so I'm pretty sure she's overwatered.
It's not the amount of water you are using its the frequency of waterings.
If you water too often the bottom of the pot will stay wet.

The Simple solution is to just leave her to dry out properly, like you really want that soil bone dry all the way to the bottom of the pot.

Let's say you are watering every 2 days, try leaving her for 3 days before you water.

Don't worry she will bounce back :)

Hey Reci, I’m good, thanks for asking! Don’t get me wrong it’s ok to mist a little in veg cycle but it does increase the risk of pm. But once you start flower I would discontinue spraying unless needed for pest management.

You can let them go many days with no water at all, plants that size should be able to go 4 to 5 days easy with no water, maybe even longer. One thing that may help is to remove the grow bags from the larger plastic or terra cotta pots. That will deliver more oxygen to the root zone. Weed roots love air but cannot be exposed to light. In the fabric pots they air prune / light prune at the edges anyway. Weed doesn’t like wet feet - maybe use plant elevators so the bag doesn’t sit in wet puddle after watering

The no water thing helps to work the wet dry cycle. When the soil totally dries out she will send out tiny root hairs to search for water, this helps propel growth. Fill a same size fabric container with dry soil, use as a comparison weight. The comparison pot with only soil and no plant will be light as a feather. Its called lift the pot method use that to compare weight with your plant. In veg mode work the wet dry cycle hard but in flower cycle keep soil moist...

They look a little sad but should perk up soon as soil dries out
