Rascio - It's Growing!

Welcome jbaker! :welcome:

Its interesting watching these two baby Silver Hazes grow.

Silver Haze - 18d

One is still being nibbled:

And one isn't:

And this is what the one in flower looked like at about the same age:

Guess I better up can. The first time around I went up to 1 gal after only 12 days in the pint cup.

To me, the one that isn't being eaten is looking more Sativa like than the other two.

I'm thinking of topping one or both of these, like I did the kush. Probably, I'll be putting these two in to flower when I get a bigger tent. I only have about 10 gal of soil cooked, though. So I wonder if I should let them share a 7 gal, or get a couple 5s. Hmm ...

Pics of the bigger ones in a few hours after lights on. They're changing fast now.

Cheers! :peace::passitleft:

Afghanistan Kush - 68d, 10f

You can see from the profile I thinned it out quite a bit. A whole new crop of tops was coming in from below. Figured they would divert growth from flowers on older, thicker stems.

Silver Haze - 53d, 10f

Growth energy for her tonight. Roots must be doing their thing because I wasn't expectng to have to water for another 2 days.

Cheers! :peace::passitleft:

How impressed am I? You've been paying attention in class, haven't you? What a beautiful canopy - wait!!- what beautiful canopies you have going there Rascio. Well, well, well. Something to aspire to. I'll do my best to follow your example.

Yep. Mighty impressed. + reps.

Edit: Oops! I've already given you my allotted reps today. Too much brilliance? Nah, just a normal day for you. :battingeyelashes:

Aww shucks.

Kinda cool how they ended up looking a lot like each other, considering where they were a couple weeks ago.

You've done well. :high-five:

BrixKlinger, I just forced myself to take on another sub for your journal, but I haven't subbed yet, 'cause I'm only on page 3?...and I wanted to catch up. I loved the first page so much I couldn't stop until I was bleary-eyed. Good writing.:thumb:

Something tells me we'll bump into each other again :D

Silver Haze #6 - 20d

Once again I find myself looking at an apical stump, wondering if I snipped in the right place, or if I shoulda snipped at all. I think this one is one node higher than when I snipped the Kush, so we'll see if it'll grow six more or less even stems.

Meanwhile, back in the tent:

Hot weather continues. Canopy temp was 114° when I got home from work this evening, less than an hour after lights on. They're both drinking heavily now. Silver Haze was drooping.

Weather people say one or two more hot days, but they've been saying that for the last ten days. Anyhow, daily misting with destress seems to keep them looking healthy.

Cheers all! :peace::passitleft:

I need to learn to use those go liars better than just on a schedule. Hang in there Rascio. They're fighting to stay with you. :Love:

I think Silver Haze - 55d, 10f

and even Afghanistan Kush - 75d, -10f

could do with a touch more magnesium. Do you concur?

If so I may apply epsom salts as a foliar, cuz neither require water. Half a teaspoon in a quart for a foliar sound about right?

ps. Its starting to freak me out how the two strains are looking more and more like each other each day.

Subd! :)
Hey Ras, I think those spots are from Brix pooling and drying really quick on the leaves so I wouldnt worry. Everything looks great tho! I didnt know you had a journal, sorry :)

Welcome Scrubby! :welcome:

Thanks for popping by.

Lol thats the second time I raised alarms about silly water droplets.

Cool thing is, I have done nothing, which I know In my heart is the solution to 90% of first time grower's problems. Who knows what my plants would look like if I was just lurking here . . .

Cheers! :peace::passitleft:

I was reading Doc's thread and and outdoor grower was asking about helping the plants cope with a heat wave. Doc recommended daily DeStress. So I figured I'd try the same as a band-aid, until my grow area improvements come through.

This month's budget includes an encosed, air cooled reflector for my lamps, and a larger tent.

In August I have a better fan and some lighting and shelves for a veg area pencilled in. September will bring my first Led panel, in time to finish these lovelies off and begin grow two.

So I took alook at my two baby silver hazes, and, I missed my mark when I tried to snip.

I don't remember so many off-shoots when I snipped the kush. Looking forward to seeing what happens.
