Rascio - It's Growing!

Still lookin great Rascio:high-five:. That is a calcium deficiency (remember my post on real pics? it was in there:cheesygrinsmiley:). My tent is 36x36x72, 400 watt mh, temps in the 70's constantly so Imho I say yes to that larger tent:thumb: Plants lacking Calcium balance can result in the soil becoming too acidic. Calcium deficiency can be fixed by foliar feeding (adding liquid fertilizer directly to plant leaves) one teaspoon of dolomatic lime per quart of water until the plant's condition approves.:Namaste:

This is new information to me. I'll have to research this.

" Thinking I might be pushing the limits, with a 600w in a 2×4×5 without A/C on the inlet air." Whenever my temps go up I just open the tent all the way until they go down, only because I am able too with no problems about someone smelling the odor ( my family complains but hey they are family):laughtwo: Do you have all vents open? Hopefully that MIGHT help some.

This info is not from experience Sue, I'm just passing on what I have read so if you find out something different please let me know. I don't want to be known as the member who gives out false information:) Some members, I won't name, already think I think I'm a know it all. I just try to be helpful if I can:Namaste:

I would assume those rust spots are from a recent Brix spraying. I get that occasionally, too - nothing to be concerned about - just from sitting on the leaf too long without getting absorbed. :cheesygrinsmiley:

. . . . That spotting on the top leaves - could it be too close to the light? I'm useless to help with deficiencies, and that shouldn't be a concern for you anyway, should it?

Burn from the light was my first thought. I didn't spot any more before lights off this morning, but I was a little bleary eyed ...

And yeah if I'm in a deficiency situation, I have serious problems, because there's plenty of everything in the pot. Its properly brewed kit soil that has been topdressed with recharge last watering. Water issues are possible, I suppose.

I'm not concerned yet. If it spreads then ...

I just like to post new observations in case issues arise

Cheers! :peace::passitleft:

Thanks Akaman. I did look through that thread and I agree that, out of the problem photos shown there, the leaf pictures I posted most closely resemble the calcium deficiency photos.

If you look again:

You will notice that the edges of my leaves seem unaffected. The example photo below shows browning in the tips of the serations.

Also (bear in mind this is with hindsight and after reading Graytail's reply) the patterns are different. The Ca deficiency photo shows blotchy brown patches. The leaves I showed show a pattern of dots, a pixelation. Im pretty sure now that Graytail was right, and those brown dots are just leftovers from misting with fish guts and such. I do try to get most of the aerosol on the underside of the leaves but ...

Its cool to learn these things together.

Cheers :peace:

Bingo! I think and hope that's all it is.

All that was lost to learn that lesson was a couple of leaves from a plant that could do with a good pruning.
:thanks: and Cheers! :peace:

I do the same, but im often not home for lights on/off. When I work a morning shift, I have to leave the flaps closed for the last few hours of lights on. When I work afternoons, lights come on before I return.

I dont want to have to hurry home from work to open the flaps before the plants bake, as I have done a few times this last few weeks. I want to enjoy the hot weather when it comes. Summer is short enough without me wishing it away.

Thanks though! Cheers :peace::passitleft:

That was so cool reasoning that out together. So nice to have gardening buddys to share with.

Thinking about ideal cannabis environments again. Want to share these graphs I lifted from Climatemps . Com:

Chiang-Mai, Thailand -18.5°N

Notice the nice dry window for harvest in jan-feb. The fall equinox in late September looks like a good time to be flowering.

chiang-mai-climograph.jpg

Malawi - 15.4°S

A lot like Chiang-Mai, but with a drier period for flowering and harvest. I'm guessing in Malawi, flowering begins in May or June, with harvest in September.

malawi-climograph.jpg

Maui -20.5°N

maui-climograph.jpg

Panama City - 8.6°N

Very wet, except for a respite in the winter. Looks like it might be best to flower in the winter in Panama, with a March or April harvest

panama-climograph.jpg

Kabul, Afghanistan - 34.3°N

The chart highlights the need for fast flowering. Looks like August and September might be too dry to grow anything there, calling for a mid summer harvest.

Reunion Island - 20.5°S

And where I live, showing very few days when I should need A/C:

Wow rascio, HUGE growth from last time i checked in, heh. Have you seen any sex growths yet?

They are indeed. Both the Kush and Haze showed pistils right about when the light period hit 12h. That was a week ago. To be honest, I'm not even sure what I'm seeing here:

Meanwhile, some sneaky Brazilian was plotting while I wasn't looking. Took a close look tonight.

That happened fast! The sneak is on his way to the dumpster.

Thanks for reminding me to measure. They have both grown 4" this last week with pretty even canopies 16" above the soil, 20" below the light.

I have only about 10 more inches to raise the light. This 60" high tent is looking more and more like my future veg. room. I can see a modified bookshelf in here, with 2 or 3 double 3' T5s fastenened to the underside of two shelves.
