Rascio - It's Growing!

All I can say is wow, that silver haze is filling in nicely Rascio:thedoubletake::clap::blushsmile:

Thank you Akaman! :thanks:

Silver Haze - 45d, 3f

She got recharge last night. I want to release her restraints, but she's still tugging pretty hard. Will give it a few more days for the S-stem to firm up.

Sweet Rascio. Love the "S" stem. :laughtwo:

Silver Haze - 45d/3f back under 600w HPS beside Afghanistan Kush - 60d/3f and bottom right is the Brazil Amazonia - 55d 😁

I trimmed quite a lot from the Kush (center) yesterday, but it seems even bushier tonight. Probably because I also released all restraints yesterday too.

They got a half gallon each to water in the recharge. I thought about how best to get the recharge minerals into the soil. The soil level was a bit low after settling when I upcanned. I didn't want to compact the soil, and I think I erred a bit on the light side.
Anyhow, I distributed about 1/6th of the recharge over the surface of each plant, then added more DBHBB soil, about half a gallon each. Then top watered it all in. Like I mentioned earlier, I think I will simply add the recharge to the soil used for the final pot, in future.

Cheers! :peace::passitleft:

So I walk into my little bachelor suite after work tonight, and was greeted, not by the smell of marijuana, but by the approach of a pine forest, through tall grasses with patches of mint. Delightful, in so many ways ....
But time to install a Can 33.

I don't have a flange for it, or a good way to suspend it from the ceiling of my 2'×4'×5'h tent:

20150703_002652.jpg

But I did have a laundry bin, an empty cherios box, and the end of a roll of duct tape.

Two minutes later:

20150703_003342.jpg

I had to add a few mor feet of tape. I tested the seal by moving the flame of my bic with all other air flow sources off, but the exhaust fan running. When the flame stopped flickering all the way round, I knew I was done. I had about 3" of tape left.

Odour suppression is important for this grow. In the next 10 days, over 100,000 people (that is probably very conservative) will be walking within 15' of my plants. This grow Is, In many ways, hidden In plain sight. I bet my delightful whiff tonight will turn into a reek that can come from nothing but flowering cannabis plants in short order. Unfortunately, that lovely stench has to stay inside the tent.

There was slight odour before tonight, but it was just ... growing plants. Pretty stoked about a the complex biochemistry going down . . .

Anyhow, the need to get temps under control is my main challenge. I cannot get much performance from my filter until I can achieve acceptable temps with lights on and flaps closed. I really want to avoid A/C if I can. I just don't like it. One of the reasons I didnt do well in the corporate world -- air conditioned rooms make me antsy ... I have no explanation but I can only take a few hours at a time in most air conditioned spaces, then I must flee.

Luckily, the weather appears to be poised to come to my rescue. One more day in low 90s then back to the mid 70s. :phew:

Now, do these plants show heat stress?

OK, don't consider the Brazilian - 56d, 2@11:40/12:angel:

I'm holding on to a fool's hope that I'll get a couple grams of bud from this plant, if its a female. Watching closely. Meanwhile, bent it right over so that there'll be some places to grow from in the event it turns around. I've seen some good signs, but am afraid to say more.

But what about this one?

And this one?

Afghanistan Kush - 61d 4f

To me these plants appear to be thriving, 100+° canopy temps or no. In just the last two days I feel them hooking in to the additional 6 gal of soil they have. I have been using destress foliars on these plants almost daily for the last two weeks of hot weather.

Nuff yabberin'!

Cheers! :peace::passitleft:

Loving the Cheerios box adaptation. Smacks of Scout preparedness and ingenuity. Or are you just naturally gifted with brilliance? :battingeyelashes:

Looks like something is eating it.

Yeah, thats what I thought. I almost asked 'what's eating my baby', but didnt want to prejudice responses.

Thanks akaman. If its a deficiency at this stage, its a bad seed. Possible I suppose.

Haven't noticed any critters except a few ants, and very occasionally, tiny orange/red spiders. The windows of my suite open to dirt level, so some bugs will always find a way in.

Thanks

Necessity . . . I knew I needed my filter connected when I walked into my apartment. Credit the rest to poor planning and impulsivity.

Thanks for seeing it in the kindest possible light though. :peace::passitleft:

Anytime. :Love: :passitleft:

Still lookin good Rascio:thumb:. There is a member named iwltfum and he has actual photos of plant deficiencies. Go to gallery to check it out. Sry didn't know how to add as a link.

Here's the link!: Which deficiency do you have? Real Pictures

It doesn't look like a deficiency to me though. I haven't yet figured out why exactly plants do what yours is doing. I know of a couple possible reasons like wind burn, nute burn, and (and I might be reaching here) root disease. It also may just be odd genetics that it needs to work it self out of as it progresses out of the seedling stage. Cheers to you and your plants rascio! They seem very healthy.

Thanks all. I think Pigeons is right. I think that little orange guy was a mite, not a spider. I hereby curse it with reproductive failure.

20150704_230312.jpg

The only times I've seen spider mites here have been when store bought plants have been brought into the house. After looking at some bug pics, I think the one ive seen occasionally is a Clover Mite. I've seen these in every house ive lived in here. I have never seen them in numbers. So for now I do nothing but monitor closely.

Meanwhile, the tent seems healthy and happy.

Not quite sure what thats about. Was just on three of the upper canopy leaves. Trimmed the leaves, and watching closely. Three days off :woohoo:

She was definitely thirsty. Took 1 1/2 gal + growth energy.

Looking sexy after a thorough brix misting.

So I'm coming up to time when I get to buy something for my grow. My exhaust fan and filter are controlling odour completely. I know I need to get temps down. Wondering whether a bigger tent will help. The existing fan seems to be sucking a lot of air through the filter so ...

Are any of you following any grows with an HID in a small tent? Thinking I might be pushing the limits, with a 600w in a 2×4×5 without A/C on the inlet air.

Cheers! :peace::passitleft:

"Curse it with reproductive failure". Hahaha! You are just too good sometimes.

Your plants look huge! That spotting on the top leaves - could it be too close to the light? I'm useless to help with deficiencies, and that shouldn't be a concern for you anyway, should it?

Still lookin great Rascio:high-five:. That is a calcium deficiency (remember my post on real pics? it was in there:cheesygrinsmiley:). My tent is 36x36x72, 400 watt mh, temps in the 70's constantly so Imho I say yes to that larger tent:thumb: Plants lacking Calcium balance can result in the soil becoming too acidic. Calcium deficiency can be fixed by foliar feeding (adding liquid fertilizer directly to plant leaves) one teaspoon of dolomatic lime per quart of water until the plant's condition approves.:Namaste:
