Rascio - It's Growing!

Yes, and the sigh will be as much for myself as the plants. I work in an institutional kitchen. Tonight we had 4 convection ovens, two vegetable steamers, two warmers and two steam tables all on together at one point.

I saw you peeking Carestaker, :welcome:

This one is for you:

Cheers! :peace::passitleft:

I worked for a while in an institutional laundry. The boss sat in an air-conditioned office and tried to get us to believe that temps of 120F on the floor were acceptable working conditions. I found ice cubes rolled in a cloth and draped over the back of my neck the only way to survive, and it turned out to be quite effective. Wet, but effective.

I feel for you Rascio.

Stoned. Too much caffeine, too late at night. Tends to make me even wordier. No apologies. :battingeyelashes: :Love:

"I could make you happy make your dreams come true..." You ever hear Adele do Dylan's "To Make You Feel My Love"? Beautiful piece. Good lungs on that girl. Dylan's rendition is good too. I like the contrast. Hmmm. I should load that in.

I'm done. :battingeyelashes: Later Rascio.

When I gave up on it, and took it out of the big pot I found a very weak root ball. My best guess as to what I did to it:

I think I may have waterlogged it early on, thinking it was drinking as much as the others. The outside of the 1 gal was dry when I upcanned, but a pint sized root ball was pretty soggy in the interior. Live and learn. :thumb:

Don't blame yourself. Some strain/phenos just dont want to get with the program. Your other plants got the same treatment, right? They are beautiful and thriving. Understand that not all plants are going to like your environment. The learning comes from trying to to keep the fickle ones alive. I'm still doing this after over 10 years of growing. These plants are all different. Some just don't want to play right. Love the ones that do play right :)

Looking a lot like the drawing GhettoGro posted! :cheesygrinsmiley::woohoo:

I am curious. If I'd been paying attention and knew what to look for, how long since I woulda spotted the first calyx? :peace::passitleft:

You definitely know when she drops her panties. Just hope it doesn't drop boxer shorts.

Can you tell I was excited for you Rascio? :high-five:

Once they tip, they start growing pistils pretty quickly all over. The ones in your pics are the very earliest and show up in veg as pre-flowers at about the same time yours did. Within a week, the tops should look quite different. :cheesygrinsmiley:

So this is all I've been waiting for before adding recharge. I'll wait a few days longer, so I can top dress when she needs a good drink.

In hindsight, I think it was dumb not to sort the sex earlier. In the future, I'll take cuttings as early as I can and put it in a dark spot at 12/12 or less, when growing from regular seeds. Had I known for sure she was female, I woulda mixed the recharge up with the new soil when I went to the 7 gal.

Cheers! :peace::passitleft:

I thought there were some cool freebies this month. I went with that one because they had singles of both Utopia Haze and Carnival. Graytail did the dirty work of growing all those cool strains. It would be silly for me to not try the favourites, since I'm looking for similar kinds of highs, based on his excellent smoke reports.

And the Ace Tropical mix just appeals to me. Thete Isnt a plant In their lineup I wouldnt love to grow and smoke. Ill be holding on to them for a bit, but one day i'll reach into that bag, and seeing and maybe not knowing what I have til 6 months later! Could be Panama, could be Purple Haze × Meao Thai. Definitely want to have environment sorted before popping those, though.

Cheers! :peace::passitleft:

They sure do tip quickly! As you can imagine, I inspected her pretty closely this morning before lights off. All those naughty bits grew while she was sleeping today. :peace::passitleft:

I like the fabric pots, but moving the plants in them bothering me. I'm looking for a laundry basket that a 7 gal smart pot will fit in snuggly. When I move them, some soil shifting is unavoidable. I particularly dislike shifts that could apply shear forces to new roots. Not good! I'll be hitting some thrift stores for electrical parts tomorrow, maybe ill get lucky. :peace:

I wouldnt worry too much, everybody uses fabric pots and has to move them around a bit, just be careful! The only real problem I've seen is when they are top heavy and get jerked so that the stem gets ripped where it meets the soil and won't stand straight anymore. Even this gave no bad signs other than the tipping, easily fixed with a stake.

New root shear is actually a natural feature of cloth pots.
