Are your total ppm's 90 including the 70ppm water? If so that means there's only 20ppm in what you've added, which includes pH down and z9?

Almost, i added 1/4tsp MC 90ppm + ph down + 2.5ml z9

Its an interesting concept using a fish tank as a source for aquaponics. My old old hydrostore specialized in aquaponics, they were always giving away big ass tilapia.

The fish dont put enough back into the water to grow pot by themselves, but its a great start.

You were talking about adding CO2 to your fish tank. If you are seeing pH numbers fall it may be due to CO2 becoming carbonic acid. I just read about this, so its not like I'm an expert. Also dont ever let algae in your hydro rig. Any light from the edge of your net pot, or anywhere else will cause it to grow, which will take all your dissolved O2. If the algae dies in you tank it can really mess up your pH.
A lot of care is being taken to watch the pH/PPMs. Your PPMs may change by just correcting the pH... not a hell of a lot, but clearly all of this is based on interpretation.

I believe the smaller the size is the more difficult it is to maintain

It is for pH that is for sure, but you seem to be sweating stuff ive never ever looked at. Its gotta take the fun out of it.

the reason i like hydro is because of the tracking i have to do. At the moment the only that is not fun is the water changes. lol!!

As long as you are having fun. Maybe some day you'll go RDWC and lose the chart

DWC is a single res
RDWC is one res with multiple outlets.
I would highly doubt that the leaching problem has to do with the style of grow, but correct me if i am wrong. :)

I agree. Aquaponics definitely keeps it interesting.

Your right. But hook that multiple outlet rig to a water source, burn the chart, and actually grow something.

is that your fish tank or your res?
 
My res I keep at 165 I just increased my ppm in my buckets after running my water around the room. I added hydrogen peroxide to the main res upon running the water. So that I would have more oxygen in the water to help fight algae
